    Great video! Suggestion - get an HVLP spray gun for finishing (much faster spraying and way more uniform in finish) - and finish your flag FLAT - don't do it standing up, way to much chance for drips and runs....I use General Finishes waterbased satin 450...been doing signs for 15 years on the CNC.

    Pretty cool! I make my flags all by hand, aside from using stencils for my graphics and a dremel to carve them out…. so time consuming🥵 nice work!!

    Nice work great looking flag. Liked how you explained the different polys. On the first project for a picture frame it was good until I placed the poly on and turned yellow I spent the next 2 hrs painting the letters and washing off the excess paint. What bits do you use when you cut the emblem and stars.

      Either a 60 or 90 V-Bit and always make sure it's sharp and high quality! I love poly, minus the issues with coloring :)

    Cool flag! Maybe consider making a video to show how to build the file. I was perusing youtube trying to find a video that shows me how to insert, for example, the army logo on the flag. Granted, I'm using a laser engraver, but dxf file should be a dxf file in the end.... I just don't know how to overlay the image that I want on the flag and have it visually fit, have a nice border around it and just looks like it belongs there. I know, I know...."there's so many different softwares, skill levels, etc.. out there". If you know how to use a couple different programs then make a couple different videos (that's more clicks and views for you). Maybe make one for the big ones CorelDraw, Lightburn, Adobe, etc... Just an idea. Either way, awesome flags. Glad I found your channel......>>Dean

    Hi Ryan. Can you tell me the name of your CNC machine and did you take a class at a college or where did you learn how to use it? Is it a difficult learning process? I’m a jar head retired police officer so I’m board getting into the hobby. Thanks brother. Look forward to seeing more videos.

    How do you keep the pine from bowing. Every time I buy glued up pine it's bowed and then add stain it gets worse

    • @ElCidPhysics90
      @ElCidPhysics90 Рік тому +1

      I’m guessing the vertical slats he attaches to the back help prevent bowing.

    For stars on bigger flags do you prefer using a 60 or 90 degree v bit?

    • @RISENGRINDWORKSHOP
      @RISENGRINDWORKSHOP  8 місяців тому

      It's really all personal taste or preference, for me I stick with 60* on smaller stars!

    I'm an airbrush artist. So far frog tape has disappointed me every time. Paint seems to get under the frog tape.

    • @RISENGRINDWORKSHOP
      @RISENGRINDWORKSHOP  2 роки тому

      Wow that’s the fist time I’ve heard anyone complain about frog tape. I just picked up an airbrush gun myself. Granted I’m no artist. Really wish I could airbrush. It’s one of my favorite things to watch people do!! Maybe try using a rubber roller to get some good down pressure. I also see they make a “delicate surfaces” version and it’s yellow.

    Way to technical for me to follow. I build flags by hand. Much more personal. But I do it for fun does not profit.
