I lost my grandmother in 1995 and it hurts still to this day. I'm 56 years old now, I was her favorite and she was my surrogate mother. I always admired the Queen and she always reminded me of my grandmother who I hold so dear to my heart. There isn't a day that goes by (especially Xmas) that I miss her so much. Rest easy Elizabeth. May god keep you safe.
I feel you very much, losing a grandmother it’s like losing your whole world..some grandmas are like mom. I lost mine in 2010 and there’s no day that I think about her. I’m deeply sad that we lost queen Elizabeth

My grandmother was a support until she herself died when I was 15. I was lost without her because dad wasn't in my life then. Hope you are well my kindred friend ❤

Very well said. My cousins and I last spoke at my grandmothers funeral… before that we used to meet a her house once a month. Never realized she was the person bringing us all together until after she died.

I don’t know why, but the Queen Elizabeth is always special for me,too. I miss her charming smile a lot. However, the double rainbows means everything. Now we know she is happy again with her dear one, Duke of Edinburgh.
Her Majesty undertook her final duty a mere 48 hours before she died. From the age of 25, when she became Queen until the age of 96, she served her Nation. A truly amazing lifetime of duty. Her rest is well earned. I am happy for her that her "end of life" was swift. The gates of Heaven swung open to welcome her.

It's been 25 years since I've lost my beloved grandmother and it still hurts so much. I wish I would have had her in my life for more than just 11 years.
One of mine died a month before I was born, so I only ever had one and I lost her at 11 as well. It’s strange, I can still remember how soft her skin was, how it felt to hug her, her powdery scent. A good grandma (or mam-maw, in my case) who you know loves you SO much, is a wonderful gift, a real blessing. It’s sad we only get them for a short time, but at least we had them.

Haven, what you say is so true. Some of the comments I've read sound so heartless and hateful. She wasn't perfect, but then who is? She adored her family and they adored her. The only issue I ever had with her was her treatment of Diana because Diana was an amazing person

They're also afraid he will cause much damage to the monarchy. Hopefully, he won't live to be 96 so Prince William can take the throne soon. He and Kate are truly amazing people. Charles and Camilla are not worthy of being King and Queen Consort. Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth refused to pass over Charles.

I lost both of my grandma’s only 9 months apart. My Grams & Queen Elizabeth II were a year apart in age. I was so lucky to have my grandparents in my life, all 4 of them. How special was it for her great-grandchildren to have lasting memories of her.

My grandma taught me to play cards too & used to play w us grandkids. That story just personifies how deep down, all families are the same. After my grandmothers had passed, I even started looking to the Queen as a grandma figure cause she resembled one of my grandmas. I may be American, but Im going to miss her as if she was my sovereign.

I love her. I lost both my nanny’s in 1987 & 1990. I remember my mum and dad being bereft with sadness. I miss that special bond you have with a grandparent but I see that bond again between my mum and my son and i love it.
I lost my grandmother back in 2019. I still feel that pain today, I can imagine what the Princes and Princesses are going through. Much love to them all and RIP Queen Elizabeth. I hope you and Prince Philip are together again.

my dad who past 2 years ago worked for 50 years in the NHS, in a very historic central london hospital. He was'nt high up , just helping the place run,but he had a cermonial role, known as a Beadle, he would wear a medieval robe and a carry a long staff.
He would everyso often escort the Queen , Princess DI around the hospital. We have many a photo of my Dad, a working-class man, with the Queen, due to this he also once was invited to a Tea party at Buckingham Palace, still have the invite.

Yah, I wondered how long she would last after Phillip died. They were tight. And so very cute together till the end. She was quite the woman.
Lost my mom a couple years ago from covid out of nowhere. I may be a hyper leftist American in my 20s who grew up poor and willing to eat the rich, but my heart is with their family tonight. I hope the true spirit of this woman continues to live on in the closest hearts and the minds of her loved ones.
Stay strong and sending you a big hug. Losing a parent especially out of the sudden is never easy. Stay strong.

@@renderuntoblender Bro you do not understand how things work do you? If you tax the rich more they cut jobs. If they cut jobs that puts someone else out of work. The Top 1% of America Pay 25% of the taxes. the poorest in the nation obviously pay the least amount of taxes. Even if you take a number say 8.1% of a Wealthy person per 1 billion dollars they pay what like 81 million dollars in taxes. Say I make 100k and file as a single person in lets say Southern Colorado. I would roughly pay 32,000 dollars in fed, state, Medicare and social security combined. So as I said take that one rich person it takes 2531 people making 100k filing as a single person to equal what that one person pays. Now this is not taking into account any existing assets or business taxes they pay. So to say we need to tax the rich more is pretty wild. You clearly only focus on the small picture instead of looking at the big picture.
There are Millions of Americans that do not even pay into the system but yet they got stimulus checks. The Federal Gov gives Illegal immigrants money for Free. A place to stay for free Food for free. There are people on food stamps, Welfare, Section 8 housing. All of these programs cost money. Its proven that after welfare was put in place single motherhood almost doubled. Our Federal Government gives out Billions of dollars to foreign countries to spend on their military or infrastructure. The Federal Government spent 20 years in a kitchen sink of a war. And your main focus on how to solve money issues for people who lack the same drive as others is to tax those who create the most jobs. And now people are demanding 15 dollars an hour minimum wage. What they failed to understand was that burger from McDonalds that was 5 dollars is now 7. The plumber now has to up his cost to offset wage increases which he passes on to the consumer. Rent has gone up because all of a sudden a house that use to cost 100k now cost 200k. It all adds up all over the place. If you want to live in a Socialist country then go to China or North Korea. Maybe start looking at how nice you have things here vs other places before you go spouting how we need to take more from the biggest employers in the country AKA The Rich.
Every day for 70 years she lead by example, always constant never missing a step leading and guiding with dignity, she dedicated her life to the people, may she rest in peace with her dear husband in Heaven.Gone but never, ever forgotten.
