snow leopard is the operating system. iLife is a collection of programs. Both come with all Macs
i thought iLife was included in snow leopard?

On the new keyboard there is a new glossy finish to make it just a little more shiny the the older but does not feel like gloss.
I got the 27" with the same specs. It's sweet!!
Although, I've already ditched the keyboard and mouse foe a logictech I had already. The apple ones were built for pixies and fairies as far as I can tell ;-)
I bought the upgraded 21.5 inch also,. Reason being, I run dual monitors, and have a 21.5 inch viewsonic HD monitor and it will sit side by side my Imac. Also, the 27" is too heavy and big for my setup and dual monitors would have been uneven. the 21.5 is conceivably portable if you have a case made at difference of 10 pounds. I
The firmware update is only for the 27" with ATI & it did not work for a lot of people. I have the 21.5 with NVidia. Go to Apple Discussions. There is over 260 pages of people with issues.
The ethernet port is on the back of the computer, in one of the bottom corners.

@7SickoZ yes they do. $20 for two apple issued batteries and the charger.
The zero interest for 18 months was "Economically" friendly, but macs are far from economically. 7:19,. you are so right, I played a few DVD movies on these to test the video, and I see now bad scratches, and they are inline and then curve as if rotating, so I see the obvious damage, but that was with the last 1, this one I tested with a shit coaster disk and looked at it and had no damage. Also,. these get hot, metal body, disk is toasty.
wow that sucks, well at least you got a 27 inch out of it. how are you liking the better than HD res. i havent seen a 27" yet but the resolution on my imac is amazing so i bet the res on the 27 is waaayyy better

@Agamerforlife1 for home setting get the an imac and if you wanna take it outside get the macbook. but if you meant about specifications macbook pro would cost almost about the same as an imac but with the imac you get better specs.

@321derrell it depends on what your needs are, for the most part, the 1200 dollar model is perfectly fine.
@yeeITSrobbie it has built in wifi so it can pick up wireless internet if you have a wireless internet modem in your house
some people dont want a big monitor in front of their faces, and im ordering the 21.5", i could buy a 27" but i already have a mac pro hooked up to a dell monitor.
@7SickoZ no, just buy some rechargeable batteries form like radioshack or something
also can you burn dvds on this Mac??? can you make a video of how to do so if you have the time!

@albozpower games are better played on windows than OS X but you can always boot camp and admire the beuty of the screen of an imac. i got the same mac as he has but only 500gb and the 9400M Nvidia graphics card.

Crikey!, Only 256Mb graphic card. For that money I would want a minimum spec of 512mb.

@theboyscomeback32320 it depends, do you want a desktop computer which has everything you want, or do you want a portable reading/gaming device? It's not like comparing apples to pears, but apples to melons
with the imac, when you put in a disc, for example a dvd, are you able to then download that movie onto your itunes?

Can I ask you if you bought this thing cash or by credit? I'm gonna buy this thing and it's impossible to buy it on cash for christ sake. Its too darn expensive. Allthough I'll be getting the 27" version. But not with the Core i7 cause that's a just waste.

but I am really want to know if this Mac is good with video ediiting? I have alot of nba basketball games and would love to make video clips of them and upload them to youtube. Would this Mac help me in those areas?
Does this iMac come with a airport card built in, or do u have to buy the airport express?
