Neil had such a unique but diverse sound to his playing. It’s amazing that you can recreate that feeling! Amazing job man, I really love these covers!!
Great video! Thank you so much for your hard work and sharing your talent with the world! My brother Ty was a studio drummer and he practiced to Rush albums while I read the lyrics on the albums back in the 70's. In fact, Ty got stuck babysitting me one time when he had tickets to see Rush and he was supposed to take his girlfriend but since he had to babysit me he took me instead! I was 11 years old and saw Rush on A Farewell To the Kings tour! Ty moved to California and soon after started taking drum lessons from Mark Craney and later Rayford Griffin. One day, an actor named Fred Willard moved next door to my brother Ty and all he did was bitch about Ty's practicing and Fred called the police on him several times a week. Fred drove an AMC Rambler and Ty saw it at a restaurant down the street from where they lived so Ty pulled into the parking lot and pissed in his gas tank! Sterling, you have the same kind of drive and skill my brother did and I urge you to never give up on your dream! Eat, sleep and breathe the music business, make contacts, take gigs doing jingles because it will get you in the studio and get you heard and make you contacts! Residuals on jingles pay bills too and contacts are priceless!
Weird timing....I just played this album last night while watching the sun set over the horizon. Nice way to see this on my feed the next morning. Just another brilliant performance as usual Sterling.
Amazing cover! I realize this is an old video but I am thoroughly impressed! A giant fan of rush and particularity a fan of Neil Peart, I love your dedication to really learning the song. Thanks for the great cover sir!!!
Well played!. I live that opening groove, harder than is appears, and impossible to play properly on my old electronic drums. A cracking song from an uneven album (I love Double agent).
@Sterling Fuentes. What bass drum and pedal are you using here? And what microphone set up are you using for the bass drum? I love how distinct this is in your videos. Great job all round.
It's all in the timing! My favourite song from Counterparts, and it came about because someone said their songs are too masculine or some such nonsense.
Hey sterling. Great video, they always make me happy and I enjoy every one of them, I was wondering if you could make a video on how you make your videos not exactly a tutorial but a show case of your setup.
Great performance. Now, if you let me, the only thing that was missing was more intensity on the hits. It appeared to me that you were hesitating a little bit, maybe too conscious you were being recorded. But other than that, kudos.
Counterparts album does not get enough luv It’s Neils best sounding drum kit in my opinion 🥁😎👍😀 The DWs are not even close Tama was second Slingerland 3rd DW last 😂
Also, I didn't realize the open-handed drumming that this song entails. It makes you wonder if Neil was influenced by Billy Cobham :) I'm guessing Yes!
So amazing. Your videos are really helping me learn the drums. Have you ever considered isolating the drums parts so there's no music behind it? Neil's parts are so musical, his parts are nice to hear on their own.
I remember when this came out, I was like ok good deal Rush is back rocking a little harder this time, the previous several albums were more poppy than rock IMO, not that that's always a bad thing
Esse cara é foda!! Notei q tem uma nota a menos no bumbo em relação a versão ao vivo Notei também que agora vc usou as ghost notes no outro vídeo não. God bless you! 🇧🇷🤙
Yet another flawless performance of a great Rush song. R.I.P Neil.
Love the fish eye lens Sterling. Now we can see the whole kit and it’s more crisp a visual too
Good call! Not only does it fit the whole kit but also reflects reflects Neil's lyrics from Limelight of "Living in a fisheye lens"!
My sister thought that what he was saying “living in a fish island”
@@chrissmith3668 hahaha many people did
@@chrissmith3668 I used to think that too! Haha.

I've heard a lot of great covers. I think he's the only one who pulls off Neil's feel consistently.
it’s crazy how your kit has expanded over 2 months. it looks great!
You do great justice to Peart's legacy, amazing!
👍👍! One of my favorite Rush songs and you did an awesome job covering it! Keep them coming.
Every Rush fan knows this song from that infamous drum intro. Great driving rhythm. Fabulous Cover!

Nice job! Thank you for keeping his spirit alive with respect. 🙏
I love how relaxed and calmly you play the songs!
I love how your kit embodies both eras of Peart's kit: from the 4 concert toms to the electronic percussion and left-side floor tom. 👌
such an underrated song tho
By who?
@@MrSmcara rush
@FelipeDontLie underrated by who!?
The performance spoke for itself. Bravo many times over.
Amo essa música. Dos 4:00' aos 4:40' é um dos momentos que mais gosto de todas as músicas que já ouvi...
Batera e baixo nela são fenomenais!!!
Simplesmente sensacional! Parabéns!
Nailed the dark vibe of not just this song but the alblum counterparts as a whole with the background
איזה שיר ענק וטוב💯🔥
Was just thinking about you yesterday Sterling... when/if you'd be uploading anything new. Awesome performance, as usual. 👍🤘
Amazing...and briliant drumers ,

Animate is such a great song.
One of my Favorite Albums! Awesome job, brother!
Perfeito!
This song is very difficult, well really almost all Rush songs are difficult, lol. You played this song to perfection. Incredible job, Sterling.
Fera muleque
Muito bom 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very very good
you never cease to amaze me, your videos are the best
Wow. I love the new kit setup. Reminds me a lot of neils old kit during a farewell to kings. Amazing performance too
Flawless - just flawless
Awesome cover!!!!
Nice! Pounding out those notes as Neil did. Loved this.
high on my list of faves
amazing as always... brilliant..
Good cover. I love animate, it's my favorite song and my fav album
Great attention to detail as always. Sleigh bell trigger with the left foot. And counting the intro. Very nice, Sterling!
love the visual improvements! the wider lens and lighting look great

Drums sound great
Well done!
Nice !! Very Nice !
Please do more Genesis stuff
solid job
Great angles! I love how the angle is a little more zoomed out! Great cover!!!
Who's the schmuck that gave this a downvote? Another terrific effort, Sterling!
that guy voted this down and then hung himself in a closet because he was such a loveless douche.
Great!
OH WOW! Amazing as always. Great job. I do covers too!
Would you consider doing more genesis? Love the new setup btw

Great cover
My favorite live Counterparts song
excellent
Hey... Awesome Job on this, where did you get the electronic sample parts for the middle section?
Da fuq...only 5000 subscribers?
Well done man! 🤘
Show!!
It's been a while, but when you do upload
Its worth it❤️
I'd love to see RUSH pick this young man up and go on tour.
Will never happen. Geddy has said they will never play as Rush without all 3 members.
thats a great angle work
Amazing.
Try the start with the Hi Hat included

Nota a menos?
@@elsdenf.8598 sim uma nota a menos no bumbo ( nas partes intro e no Chorus) em relação a versão ao vivo. Eu aprendi tocando pela versão ao vivo de 97
It looks like you're in a new space
Would love to know how you do that bass drum fill with crash starting at 4.47. Is that a double bass drum?
Worked it out, double bass drum pedal.
I notice the new snare head. Any reason for the change?
Perhaps Alex and Geddy ought to give you a call.
Hey also btw why did you change your snare batter head just out of curiosity.
I would lose an ear if I could hear Billy cobham playing this one
Pues yo me animo...
Is that a new ride?
What hell those 2 expect to dislike this video?
F’ing A on! That was great hear and see! Seriously practically perfect. Seriously! Can ya really do any better? R.I.P. Hawkins too. Apply for the job!
Is that a 22 paragon?
Snare hits need to be more relaxed.. if that makes sense
