    I've been making Katzu chicken sandwiches for a while now. They are delicious! I serve on larger bread and don't stack the chicken

      @ChefJackOvens what I like is they are a quick meal. With the flavor profile being so high, it's always a hit with my guests.

    In the U.S., the 🍞 bread, specifically what type and where to get it, is the most difficult thing to find.
    We can learn how to make something when we have all the necessary ingredients.
    For whatever reason, sando/milk bread is very difficult to find state-side.
    Thank for this video. Hopefully I'll find the bread soon.

      The bread I used in this is a simple white loaf with the crusts removed.

      Let it cool completely, strain and reuse if it’s not too dark

    why no canola?

    • @ChefJackOvens
      @ChefJackOvens  10 місяців тому

      Canola uses harsh chemicals to produce and is one of, if not the worst oils to use. It’s so bad that it’s banned in some countries

    Love to see Japanese recipes on here. It wouldn't be authentic, but for anyone who sees this video and says "I can't have deep fried food!" cooking them in the air fryer as an alternative for any katsu style dish is a great healthy alternative.

    • @ChefJackOvens
      @ChefJackOvens  10 місяців тому +3

      It’s definitely not authentic as it’s made with pork usually. However, this is pretty close to the real thing and tastes just as good. Definitely healthier ways but full flavour is fried

    What's wrong with Canola oil?

    • @ChefJackOvens
      @ChefJackOvens  10 місяців тому +5

      It’s extremely highly processed and because of this it uses chemicals to extract the oil. It’s one of the main oils to cause so many health complications. It’s so bad that it’s nearly banned in some parts of the world

      @@ChefJackOvensAlso in many dishes you're missing the opportunity to add some flavor to what you're cooking if you're using a neutral flavor oil.

    • @ChefJackOvens
      @ChefJackOvens  10 місяців тому +3

      @christianoliver3572 you don’t fry in anything other than vegetable, peanut, sunflower etc which are all neutral and have higher smoke points. Each oil has their own characteristics and used for different purposes and cuisines

    that thick, doughy, just-out-of-the-oven bread ain't for me, but otherwise looks tasty.
    Maybe I'd toast the bread first. Or use a baguette.

      You can use any bread if your choice. Traditionally it’s made with removed crust white bread
