Here is a guide on how to get the best picture quality on a 4K TV if you plan to use it as a PC monitor ua-cam.com/video/pW0YET3M0XI/v-deo.html
Same thing I did with the spare LCD tv I have lying around. It is the 40NX500 monolithic design from Sony.
Thank you for this video man I was wondering if I had to buy a monitor for my new PC build but I happened to have an extra TV laying around, and it just so happened it was the EXACT TV that you used for this video. I was worried there would be input lag but this video saved me from spending a couple hundred dollars on a monitor. Thanks!
I'm currently building a pc, good to know I can use the TV I have
Really helpful man. Thank you! I’m getting a pc for Christmas hopefully, and getting a monitor as well is quite expensive. Thank you
Are u like 10
Nah bruh lol
@@kesterbranche7328 probably a good boy
I was just about to buy a monitor that costs Eur 745 and thought of my Sony Bravia tv that i have has been in my closet for 6months. It’s so great now. I saved all that money. Hallelujah . Thank you man.
What monitor is that that is half the price of my pc
i love the beautiful design of that sony tv and the picture quality looks good
It's a great TV and believe it or not, this 10-year-old Sony TV has lower input lag, better contrast and picture quality than today's modern smart LED TVs.
Yes, we can use a TV as a pc monitor for Gaming/Entertainment. But the actual Monitor has very good pixel ratio for daily work.
I need help please. I have a laptop with broken display. So i use it by connecting it to my tv by a VGA cable. Hence the problem is i can't access the boot menu that is only displayed in the laptops broken screen. And it only loads on tv the Welcome sign. Can i convert the entire screen to tv starting from the bios. Like i dnt hve the open the screen again.
same problem
@@yoli4783 hey i got the fix myself. If you have a laptop the universal way is by the hard way. Remove the monitor and remove the cable connecting the monitor from the motherboard. It will automatically detect the secondary monitor connected through vga cable as the main from now. Just be careful not to damage anything.
Thanks man, I have the exact same model of tv and I built my first pc but have no budget for a monitor :)
There's many many millions of LEDs to make the pixels in LCDs, it's normal for 1 or 2 to be dead or not working as good.
Lol
Money
I've been using an old Philips 48" 1080p HDTV as a monitor and it's pretty awesome. Became an eye strain though so I wear blue blocking glasses for extended use sessions.
How do you start it because you surely have to do something on the pc in order to get it on the tv??
OMG THANK U SO MUCHHH IM CRYING I HAVENT PLAYE ON MY LAPTOP IN MONTHS AND NOW I CAN FINNALY PLAY BECAUSE OF YOU THANK U +1SUB

I’m using my tv while I can afford to buy a gaming monitor 😂 but thanks man really helps out :)
so u mean ,,can i use a samsung smart hdtv 1080 p which were release in 2016 ,, will it be ok for pc ???
Using an old led tv as well. A Devant 32MEL360, bought it way back 2012, 32 inches, 1920x1080 native resolution, no input lag, and stunning colors. Unfortunately, I can't find the model in the devant website. :
I like the idea of using TV as a pc monitor since it already has a builtin speakers, which would make my desk more clutter free.
Totally and if you wall mount it, that will free up even more space on your desk!
hello! thank you for the great video. I'm curious will it work the same for every monitor? i got drawing screen tablet that has HDMI for the display. Is it possible if i get only an CPU & use my screen tablet as the monitor?
Hi nice to meet you :) Thank you for this it is very helpful informative and easy to understand :)
Thank you for taking time out to show this to everyone appreciate it :)
have an awesome day :)
magz :)
Hey Magggie, thank you for watching! 🤗 ☺️
I used to use monitors. Now I exclusively use a TV. I have a laptop hooked up to a 42 inch in the living room and my gaming desktop on my my 32 inch in my bedroom. I've played on expensive monitors and I wasn't impressed. I don't see a difference. I stick to 1080p. Don't need anything more than that. There are some settings on the computer itself that make the setup look as natural as it would on any monitor. If you have blurry or discolored text, then you need to go into your graphics card settings and make adjustments to pixel format. Problem solved! Reality is, you don't need a monitor and haven't for at least 8 years. Save your money and use your TV and game in your recliner. If you can figure out the mouse problem, you'll never want to return to your desk. I have a table at armchair level next to my recliner. That's where I put the mouse. Not corded, but I don't care.
EXACTLY what I have been saying for years, but there are some who will constantly complain how you get input lag on TV's but I haven't noticed ANY input lag. You don't need a monitor indeed, nowadays, big screen TV's are quite inexpensive and the experience of playing games and watching movies on a big screen is something else.
Tech Guy Charlie if you hook up a laptop to a tv can you use the screens separately?
Thanks bro 😭😭😭🙏 for double monitor settings 😉
Love form India , Mumbai
I got a question. I have never used a desktop before in my life. How do u connect a PC/Desktop to a TV? Do u use an HDMI cable? And is that the case for all types of PCs or are they different?? Thanks
Yes you use a HDMI cable to connect your laptop or computer to your tv
Hi Charlie. I do alot of reading and watching videos on pc. Hardly any gaming. Is 40 inch full HD LED TV better or 27 inch IPS monitor better. TV at $180, monitor at $160. Which is easier on the eyes? I am not sure why the small monitor cost so much compared to TV.
Good video
is it worth it to use tv screen instead of computer monitor?
@@b0rdn-da-k1ng84 thanks, because i got an 18inch monitor and 44inch tv, thinking if it is worth it to use tv instead
hello.. só if my CPU (computer) doesn't come with inbuilt HDMi.. there's no way I get to connect it to my Samsung smart tv? I've tried adaptors like VGA to HDMi, VGA to AV, DVI to HDMi, DVI>VGA>HDMi.. and none worked... help clear this out please
planning on using my old lcd tv here as a monitor for music purposes
Do you need a PC for the TV also?
Of course
Beautiful setup man
I have a sony bravia from year 2012 but i don't know what model is it. Can guess what fhe model?
Vga can actually output 1080p60 windows just set the resolution to low for some reason.
For write and read books not good? Do u prefer monitor tv 24? Or 32? Both Just LED HD.
Very cool, and cheaper alternative to very expensive monitors. Thanks.
Indeed!!! a lot of people are selling their old non smart TVs if you can get one from 2013 they make really good monitors, Sony, Panasonic, LG and Samsung had pretty decent models.
My computer was going to come up to 810 but now its only 650 my buddy gave me his other mouse and keyboard and I can use my mini tv
So helpful! Thx!
Thanks, Naomi 😊
Awesome video Charlie...thank you
So if I buy a desktop tower I should be all set. I already have the hdmi cable, a usb mouse and a usb keyboard. Hopefully that'll work once I figure out the signal. Thanks for the video.
Yup pretty much, any modern PC be it desktop or laptop can be connected to a TV.
Time to use my Sharp Aquios 32 inch TV from probably 2004 or 2005 as a monitor for no reason
Can we use Sony klv 32ex330 as a pc monitor?

How to connect android mobile (type c) to led pc monitor (vga port) for screen mirroring ? (without cpu) Please discuss...
Hi mate. I recently purchased a mi TV 4A Pro full HD 43" TV and it is soon to be delivered. I intend to connect it to my pc thru my motherboard and run it at 1080P. Do u think that will I face any issues at all. I sold a 21.5" Dell S2240L monitor to replace it with mi TV. Also can u advise on the quality of text. I have scoured the net yet no definite answer on mitv compliance with chroma 4:4:4... Your inputs will be appreciated.
I fucking love you you literally answered all of my question ou majestic man
lol thanks bro :D
does it damage your eye or not ? comparing to actual monitor?
No mate its the same thing😂😂😂
I am facing problem with Sony bx35 that vertical adjustment only half screen shown... How to fix the issue please reply
Nice video this helped!
What should I do if my pc dosen't have a hdmi output and my tv dosen't have a vga output?
The only problem is the power consumption.. like 4x more than a LED tv
Yup! About a 100 watts at 80% brightness, thanks to the CCFL backlight.
Most useful video I've found so far, but I still have a problem. I have a circa 2008 Sony KDL-19M400. With Windows 10, the task bar and other edges of the display are getting cropped. Under the Screen settings, the choices for Wide Mode are Full, 16:9, and Zoom. I'm using 16:9; Full does not fix the cropping problem. (Neither does Zoom, which crops even more of the display.) Autowide is set to Off, but there are no settings for Display Area or Auto Display Area. Any other advice?
This is cool honestly..
How do you get the screen so crisp? I have a 1080p TV hooked up to my tv , I have no problems with the gameplay but it seems to be blurry alot of the time , how can I fix this??
Hey question do u need a laptop for This because i dont actually have a laptop i have a LG Tv
the thing is everything is so big how can i fix that problem
Right click on desktop then display settings, under scale and layout set the 'change the size of text, apps and other items' to 100%
Everywhere Sony.. TV, phone, stereo. ☺

Sir, can you tell me some recommended settings for all tvs?
Sir can you tell me your cpu and ups name or link to buy for my smart led sony ????
Cpu connect kya led me system chalgya but audio ka issue he tv mese awaz ni arahi kya kare
I'am confused, should i buy a tv or a budget monitor of 5000-6000rs.
I'am not a gamer. Basically I use my pc for productivity task, web browsing.
At that price range stick to a monitor, cheap TV's aren't good as monitors, I've tried out Mi 32inch TV and it was horrible, lots of pixelation and input lag, not even fit for web browsing, makes your eyes hurt. So if you are on a budget, stick to a 24inch full HD monitor.
How can On/off the tv with pc automatically?like a regular pc monitor
Can i use samsung tv a cpu and mouse and play pubg mobile on it using tencent gaming buddy? Plz reply bro

Hi I was wondering if you could help me. My PC doesn't have HDMI port soo I use VGA and my TV does not have VGA port so I purchased a VGA to HDMI adapter and plugged it in our TV but didn't work. Any reasons or suggestions you could give me?
Honestly, I'd say It is time to buy a new PC, HDMI to VGA adaptors are always tricky to get to work.
@@TechGuyCharlie I see thanks for the reply though really appreciate it. 😊
I liked this just for you playing dota 2, that too with AXE! GOOD DAY SIR.
No escaping Axe! 😁 🙈
Will this work with a 20" black & white Magnavox?
Any tv will work if it has the right ports
How about sony ex31 as a monitor?
Thanks brthr
you seem to like sony a lot :D
Chris Ayres well it didn't fail, but smartphone wise it kind of did.
Chris Ayres I'm an Xbox guy too, but it's sadly true that PS4 had sold more units then the Xbox did. But that's just the sad truth.
I was planning to use my lg tv will it work?
Would buying a 65” qled 4k work? Will it let me basically custom-stretch any screen size I want, up to 65”?
I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work! Of course, your computers graphics card or integrated graphics should have the ability to output in 4K.
I can't get it to work with HDMI.
my tv reccomended resolution on pc is 1024x768 i dont like it
I HAVE A COMPACT WINDOWS 8.1 PC WHAT DRVERS DO I NEED TO GET
