I think Darktide has kinda proven that game knowledge is a higher cause of quality plays than map knowledge. Map knowledge definitely can help with decision making, like 'if you are allowed' to jump down a cliff like in the beginning, but a lot of the later stuff could have happened literally anywhere on any map and had similar results. Especially the elf shooting him in the back of the head and then instantly dying.

Because on cata you're almost guaranteed to find people who can play the game pretty good, while on legend yes there are good platers, but there are also people lvl 10 playing it to level up their career of choice faster
