Another grim, yet beautiful destruction test. Was waiting for that tip to go, your tip testing stump gives me the heebie-jeebies… About the worst sound a man can hear. Long live the JoeX army!!
Talking of Material on a New Knife/handle might be a way to improve the Pathfinder. I do Not know if i would do that. Maybe the Mountain Man, Kodiak or the Ares without Choil is the better Choice for me( with the WTF Nighthunter in mind)
Nice to see you with your guns again. American cops will use any legal trick they can to keep guns they steal(confiscate) & I can't imagine Austrian cops are any different whether the theft was justified or not. And thanks for showing me what Work Tuff ain't as well.
great knife - the one you want in a fight - more of a sword - a mini gladiolus - even when it snapped - what was left could still be used to fight your way out of trouble - the handle needs to be refined
I own a WTG knife made out of SK85. Not this one but the Hollow King. I would hope it would hold up longer because it is a thicker blade, a chopper. Thanks for putting so much time and effort into your video.
This did better than I thought it would after you initially said you wouldn’t post it. I do agree that WT needs to get longer handles. My Puzon 7 handle is awful.
People who love collecting knife in TAIWAN love your video and test especially Taiwanese. We are very good in making knives even better than American with cold steel which are almost made in Taiwan.
American here, I love Taiwanese knives. For the money they cannot be beat! I have great American and Japanese knives too but they cost 2-4 times as much for similar quality.
Joe-Claude Van Damme! I wonder how this knife would fare against a palm tree. I am tempted to try it. Even chain saws struggle with those. I think the Pathfinder would chew it up.
Nice Test! I hope Wtf will hear your voice about the Handle! Believe me or Not, the Problem with this one is the Head Treatment, for me it's better to make only the Blade (Apex) hard, so you have more flexibilty in the Blade! PS: Nice to see you again!
@@joex The Hook at the Handle is to agressive, i think WtF has made this that you can't sliepery out of it...but its to mutch! Sleep well, to the next Time.
You could be testing a butter knife for all I care! I came for the show. Awesome job ! I hope you can come stateside or we can get some folks to meet up with you over there.
The knife actually did very well. I noticed a lot of the people commenting on here don't have anymore common sense than they have any clue about knives. They are saying that the heat treat is crap after it cuts through a car door in record time with minimum blade damage. Then they freak out when 12-inch-long blade with a thin tip breaks. Believe it or not, there is a huge difference in leverage from a 6 inch blade and a 12 inch blade. The old saying that you can move the world with enough leverage. You can also break it with the same leverage. Glad to see you back Joe, unfortunately the clueless morons returned also.
@joex mostly is just about making profit, but not reliable tool (knife). I am glad that you put so much effort to expose the truth, mate. Always have fun watching your videos, and also I get knowledge about the quality of the knives of each brand you expose in your clips.
É uma baita faca, o fabricante pecou na têmpera que poderia ser seletiva, ela seria mais resistente a dobra. Obrigado Joe por continuar esse importante trabalho.
Hi JoeX,, if there was not a pronounced hook/bird beak at the end of the handle, wouldn't it be much more prone to slipping out of your hand while chopping/slashing? Especially when going through the target and having to retain all the inertia of this heavy blade? Thanks for your help. BTW, I'm always surprised by how tough/robust G10 is...
@@joex Hi JoeX, What do you think would be an optimal handle design for a large knife/chopper like this? Any example of existing similar models with handles you like? Thanks!
Wow, there must be a serious issue with the heat treatment, What do you think? Just remembering other SK85 blades from WTG that withstand almost at much or even more than the ESEEs 1095 right? Great footage, as usual. 😉👍
23:43 That was shocking. Well at least we know it's not soft, could be faulty temper but it performed so well on the car door this was really unexpected. To be honest I think I prefer this type of heat treat, in terms of the balance of hardness vs. toughness this has got to be close to ideal, not a prying blade but it'll chop through anything.
@@joex Well it is a lot more work for you when the knives never break. Hopefully Cedric will do an edge retention test on WTG someday because it would be really nice to know for sure whether this heat treat is above or below average for a basic 0.85% carbon alloy.
Interesting break and also quite unexpected. I think the huge false wedge makes the knife weak.
Glad you are back 🎉😊
thanks Lilly! probably, a super weird break!
Reminds me of spaghetti breaking when you snap it... if I knew about metallurgy and material science, I bet there would be smth to be learned here.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like a failed heat treatment
I believe a Joe X designed knife would be awesome.
That is my thought too.
Marlboro!
So glad you're back brother 🤘
thanks my friend!
The smoke has cleared, and Joe X is back. Welcome back, Joe. Good job, and it's good to see ya doing what you love.👊👊👊

they are invincible!

thanks my friend!!!!
Another great test Joe-X.👍 That's one wicked looking blade. 🔪
it is , thanks!
Went from a Bowie to a cleaver 😂
exactly!
No cap that thing became post apocalyptic
Crazy. It survived the hardcore batoning, etc. but then it was not shy to show to show its grain-structure to the tree stump !! 👍
yeah weird!
THIS IS WHY I LOVE MY SKRAMA! It's handle is super comfortable. I think they just style handles to look cool on knives now. Thanks Joe.
i love mine too!
It’s Truly the king of choppers, such a simple inexpensive knife yet it does so much so well.
RIP Carl Weathers...
great job you did JOEX.
glad to see see you back.
yeah RIP!
One More Blade for my wish List: no Choil, no drilled in Hole in the Blade, no serrations and now: Joe x tested.
Nice
the handle is weird!

Big blades and Rum, that's what I love too ! 😁

Excellent you are back. The path clearing was very impressive, perhaps next time, cut a baton from the oak, to make baton it more fun.
