I just completed the process of updating my passport details in relation to my OCI card. I found the following useful for anyone else who may be doing this 1)do not include any numbers with your image file name - I had some issues but when I changed the name to image and signature it worked 2)you will need your current OCI reference number- you can find that on the back page of your OCI card 3)if you are naturalized as a foreign citizen you will need that date on hand. Otherwise the process was smooth.

So if you got your OCI after the age of 20, there is no requirement to upload your new passport details untill your over 50 and even then when you get a new passport. That's how im hearing it. Is this correct. Also in part B i did the same for my kids and clicked no on all the questions. Very repetitive!

I inputted some incorrect information in the acquisition section where I put " other" rather that "naturalisation" - do you happen to know if this will be an issue during submission. Or would you suggest a reapplication? The documents have been uploaded successful and I have received the acknowledgement email to say it is being assessed. Its worth mentioning that I didn't get a prompt to print after submission, nor a prompt to set up an appointment and payment. Sorry, I appreciate this is quite a long question, but any advice and guidance would be great.

I DO have some questions that will post after this.
Thank you for such an informative video. It helped me tremendously. One thing I want to note is when doing this for a minor, I selected 'OTHERS' in occupation & 'Minor' in occupation details, I kept getting error on submit that employer address can't be empty and on the page it would show occupation as 'WRITER' and the Country at the top would be empty. After 3 tries, I chose 'STUDENT' as occupation and that went away. Since my kids are in school it made sense. I hope it helps others. I'm not sure what one would do if the minor is a baby. Thank you again for explaining the steps so well.

I have my 12 years old child who has a OCI. The OCI was issues on his first passport since than he now has 2 passports, recently I updated the passport details on the OCI Mis portal and application is under process it says can I still travel with his old OCI and will I be block at any point of my travel. Also the OCI passport update do we get any email confirmation about it or some print to show the Airline at origin if they ask for recent OCI .

Hi You forgot mention two points One is that if Oci done before age 50 and now passed 50 you have to renew when receive new passport which may for example expires when you are 54 Second is that if Oci taken on spouse support then consent is required every passport is renewed Tks

If you didn’t receive any notification from the gov sided then your application should be good . No need to worry about it ..
