      getting good roles is still hard for anyone. Actors want Tarantino roles because they are normally good roles

    • @DeadGlassEyes
      @DeadGlassEyes 5 років тому +32

      Ben Ovenden That is true, however, actors with the caliber of Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have a very solid control over what roles they have. They are big enough that they can choose them or reject them, and just take place in projects that actually want to be in. Obviously both have great agents as well - I mean neither has been in a bad film so far really. Cruise has a better track record than Pitt, but Cruise also holds more power in Hollywood. But it also has a lot to do with what the director wants. People like Tarantino can't be persuaded for example - no matter how hard an actor cries they won't get the role in a Tarantino film if Tarantino doesn't believe they will be a perfect fit for one of his characters. So it's not up to the actors, either. Any good director would treat his films exactly as Tarantino does - like an art project where the director personally cares about every single character. Because he does, he writes them all. I've gotten way off track here but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

      it is unfair, when you are young you strive to be like the shiny athletes and be successful and bliss in happiness and joy when you achieve a good result!
      soon you realize you can't then you are disapointed and you have to switch the goals
      Later you get stripped off all your friends because they play music and you are not supposed to,
      which sends you off into a spiral of depression loneliness and obsessive compulsive behavior
      trying to keep up with the new people and sending you off once again into sports to outperform yourself, which simply doesn't work.......
      and then the goals have to switch again, because clearly you are a pathetic individual
      which is sad, because you did quite some effort and quite some stuff, but it was misdirected :/
      so your life is trashed
