Your like the Bob Ross of metal detecting. Very knowledgeable in explaining what your machine is doing and your plugs are nicely cut. Definitely a joy to watch, keep it up!
CanSlaw Caddy Thanks Caddy! That is funny as hell, when Ross was on PBS regularly I would sit and watch him paint, and it was just hypnotizing to watch someone be SO good at something with SO little effort. I definitely appreciate the comparison! And they have a Bob Ross Chia pet! What could be better than that?😀
nice job brutha!!! working the NULLS is a patience thing and worth it just to slow down and work that coil to the soil...... :) thanks for sharing. DigginRich on the jersey shore
richie dinolfo You’re right Richie, FBS in the null is a patience game! The machine CAN find it. But it has to have the right operator, a guy swinging wildly will not find much around here! Good luck over there...😎
Canadian History Hunter Absolutely no doubt about it History Hunter! I consider it highly unlikely to have gotten the last coin, but these places DO taper off to the point at which it seems there are none left. But we know better...🙂
Good to have you on the channel Weird Guy! Typically, for a unit that is in good condition, works correctly and the battery pack still holds a decent charge, 300-450 is about where they sell. When I got my first Explorer I realized very quickly that I had to buy a shovel, so be aware of that.
@@WeirdGuyInPark The Explorers came with a NiCad rechargeable battery and a separate battery tray that takes AA batteries. TYPICALLY the NiCad pack will power the machine for 10-12 hours if you’re using headphones. Over time this gets down to just a few hours. A good set of AA’s will power the machine for 20-ish hours. These time estimates depend on your settings and if the speaker or phones are used. The absolute best option is the RNB battery pack. The initial cost is in the 129-139$ range but the 40+hour run time is well worth the investment if you’re going to use it a lot. The vast majority of people who run Explorers and Etracs have the RNB 3100 or the RNB 3400 because of the battery requirements of the machines.
@@wizardsofwisconsin7400 Well i got that Explorer...Gonna be watching all your videos on this machine....Just gonna start out in factory preset coins mode for now until i understand everything..How high do you usually run your sensitivity?
Brian Clunie Thanks Brian! Stay well out there! I appreciate you being on board, don’t hesitate to comment, good or bad! As long as things are constructive, we ALL benefit.
Metal Detecting NWGA I had a good idea of what it was right away because I have another DeWayne, but I hesitated for a bit to say because of where I was....it had NO business being there that I can fathom. I do hope you have the chance to find one someday, and you target old places so I think you will. It’ll come out when you LEAST expect it...thanks buddy!😎
Man, I didn't think there was that much silver in WI! Lol. Another fantastic video. There's something about the simple, calm, explanatory process your videos have that are like hypnotic to me. I am a sub to a LOT of detecting channels, but yours is the best...by far. Could be your voice, it's very soothing. Almost like watching Bob Ross on The Joy of Painting back in the day. So here's the million dollar question... Now that you've played around with the Nox and have seen that it's a great machine (which it is), do you think the FBS units still trump it? As for me, I most certainly do. For starters, the FBS units are MUCH better at cherry picking, due to the greater tone variability & accurate VDI info. I still don't understand why they couldn't use the same tones or pitch spread on the Nox...which would almost make it the perfect machine. For these reasons, FBS still beats the Nox, IMO. The one and only exception... Would be if you're hunting extremely trashy areas. Then I believe the Nox will spank the FBS's, because of the quicker recovery speed. But other than that, for 99% of my deep coin hunting needs, the Etrac/CTX is still the gold standard.
Joe Grasso Again Joe...thanks! I don’t think I’ve ever been compared to Bob Ross but I’ll take it as a plus!🙂 And as usual, you’ve summed up exactly what I think about the different technologies. The CTX is still my King of Coins, it’s just that good at finding them. The Explorer has different processing which allows IT to be its own animal and so does the EQX. I don’t necessarily think any of them trump any of the others in the regard that they’re all playing their “own game”. FBS is just better at its game....silver and old copper! For YOU to have found the key to keeping your hunting alive(or at least on life support) is HUGE. Other guys who haven’t progressed to FBS are either looking for permissions...or playing bingo. It’s the deepest thing out there WITH ID. Period. For any argument to ensue, a person has to SHOW me something else that is deeper with identification! Otherwise, it’s all talk, and there’s plenty of that!😏
Did you tried the new bigger Ultimate 15" coil on the Explorer II ? Seems like Detech just released it. I have myself the Ultimate 13" and it's superb. Thinking of buying the 15" too. detech-metaldetectors.ro/en/produs/detech-15-ultimate-dd-coil/?v=3a52f3c22ed6
Daniel Schweinert OMG Daniel say it ain’t so!! I didn’t have any idea about this new 15” version, I’m getting one ASAP! For some reason, and this holds true with the huge coil on the CTX too....monster coils find coins in ALL conditions. It seems counter-intuitive that a huge coil will find coins in trash, but they do, and the FBS/2 platform allows it. Don’t ask me how or why...I just see the results. I have taken tiny coils to places I’ve hunted with stock and larger coils and you know what I found? Jack squat. Maybe a coin here or there, but NOTHING like some people say. IF you know how to work a big coil in difficult places they work really well. Thanks for the info, I’m on it!

Seen an Explorer 2 for sale for $250...What do these detectors go for these days?
