It's hard to fathom, ordering 6- 1 million+ dollar machines. Plus all the other stuff these farmers have to deal with. Thanks for feeding our country.
Yeah, then add grain carts plus tractors to pull them. Gotta pay employees, fuel, insurance, etc. Gotta be a lot of money doing out. That would give me nightmares trying to pay the note every month.
It's awesome to watch wheat harvest. About my favorite videos and with it being 10° outside right now it's a another great reason to watch. Garnett Farms and Matt it's good to see them again. Thanks Jason 👍🏻.
I see these harvest videos back from the summer just for days like today 😁👍
Great as always and for sure nice to see Matt again. I can't get over the amount of money tied up in just machines alone on the farm, not to mention all the many other things needed to stay up and running. It boggles the mind.
The logistics alone would drive most crazy
The X9 1100 with the 50' Flex Draper never ceases to amaze!
"Nothing Runs Like A Deere"
🦌 👍 🇺🇸
Good video Jason, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching. 👍👍
world leaders could learn a few things from this operation and definitely from Billy himself......like humility and responsibility
That is a lot of combine. The last combine I rode in was an early ‘70s JD 6600 with a 6 row corn head. That was about 49 years ago.
Thanks Jason, we have come a long way in farm equipment, haven't we now. I had the privilege to stop and help a farmer friend in Pennsylvania stack up oats shocks in the field by hand! It certainly was different and I burned some calories!
Great video Jason...always a pleasure to listen to your conversations with Matt!!
Matt is a good to talk to about machinery.
Always great to see Matt in the videos👍🏻
This is one of your best videos! I wish you all the best for this excellent and informative channel. From Norway
We just purchased an X9 1100 and a John Deere RD45F header. Used in soybeans and loved it. Can wait till wheat. Also did have some issues with shear pins on the unloading auger breaking.
That’s a lot of wheat, good video Jason. We most of the time plant around 45 acres of wheat each year. Now I’m doing an in frame overhaul on our one JD 4840.
It would be interesting to have a playlist just for this farm, equipment and all the equipment needed to operate the huge farm
I always appreciate the ride alongs with Matt👍👍 that harvesting crew will make short work of the wheat crop😁💪
Excellent video 👍👍👍
12,000 acres 🤯
THANK YOU FOR THIS VERY IMPRESSIVE VIDEO HARVESTING WHEAT JASON .I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TOOMAGINE HARVESTING 12 THOUSAND ACRES OF WHEAT.
THAT AMAZING.
It involves a lot of coordination.
Great video, Jason. X9 is an impressive combine ....from Texas
You make such quality content, looking forward to the next video
Amazing combine bigtractorpower greeting from burley Idaho
Thank you for watching
Great informative video. Greetings from Dundalk Ireland.
Thank you for watching from Ireland. Very cool.
Good video. Thanks Jason. Those late evening shots were especially nice.
It was interesting to me to see JD coming back to draper heads. I know the early harvesters used them, but the early combines went to augers to move the grain to the center of the head. Maybe with these huge wide heads too much grain gets thrashed out with the augers?
Awesome video Jason. I can't fathom the running cost of that farm let alone 12,000 acres. Grandads small 100 acre dairy farm was a busy place with his old machines.
Always nice to see Matt.
👍👍
good video, thanks for putting up, in this one farm.
Thank you for watching.
Big field and big machine❤
200 acres a day! When my grandfather retired in 1966 he was farming 155 acres, per year!
X9-1100 w/ 50' draper and a 12 row folding corn head is used our farm. Monster of a machine.
Very nice harvest set up 👍👍
Great video!
What's up Matt? awesome to see you again
These machines are insane!!! Last combine I ran was a 2588 and I thought it was a monster, NOPE!!!
The 2188, 2388 and 2588 were big combines. It’s amazing how big Combines have developed in the past 20 years.
@@bigtractorpower I know Jason, its crazy... First combine I ran was our 1977 New Holland TR70, amazing combine coming from an IH 915... These things today are ridiculous!!!
Jason, thanks for another great video.
Its impressive to see that good crop of wheat bunching against itself along the belt and disappearing into the feeder house.
I wonder how the JD X1100 would handle that new 62 foot GTS Brazilian head in that crop. It would probably be fine and almost be the same ground speed as the JD 50 footer.
I dont mean to detract from your excellent videos but its worth it to check out Trevor Struther videos on UA-cam about combining wheat on the Paluse hill country out in Wa, state.
Just type in Trevor Struthers farming in the UA-cam search box and enjoy his videos as well.
Soon as it went to the in cab view, holy smokes they're flying for a 50' header especially in wheat.
The video is great, thank you for sharing❤
Thank you for watching.
Great Video
Thank you for watching
I remember Put Put John Dere Tractors when I was a kid. I don't walk very Good now and I don't drive anymore.
I called them put put tractors too. 😁👍
That's a lot of money Rollin along
It does a lot of work too!
It does a lot of work too!
The combines are a big investment, but they are ability to harvest. The Crop is very important as that is a much much larger investment out in the field that can be ruined by storms quickly.
@@bigtractorpower yessir. A very well placed investment.
EPIC!
I pity the techs that will need to do big jobs on this unit. A lot of engineering in this. It’s impressive.
The X9 offers allot of tech. It takes allot of training.
@@bigtractorpower - what’s this “training” you mentioned?
Wow , a million dollar plus ! Enjoyed watching!
Definitely a large investment and ensuring that the crop is harvested in a timely matter.
Hello
You want some power you got it ?🎉
Wow many acres in total does this farm plant each year or season for the crop ?
Wait JD came out with a twin rotor combine, so you are telling me New Holland was right all along?! Lol it looks like it is hogging off the wheat thanks for sharing!
Yes, I think Case IH will come out with a monster combine pretty soon, with dual rotors.
@@joegotz1971 I was a New Holland tech for 16 years, the last 10 I was a forage harvester specialist. Never worked on combines bit had to plug my old brand!
Remember when JD claimed the Rotor Combine was no good🤔. And There two Track Tractor was Superior to the Quad🤔. Look at em Go🤦🏻♂️
I'm always interested in agriculture but the investment is my challenge.Good Mr.Janson.
Very nice video Jason.
The x9 is the top of combine.. 💪🏻💪🏻
Thank you for watching
William 0:21
How long does it take them to do that many acres with 8 combines and how often do they trade? The combines in for new ones?
Around 12 days and they are traded yearly
Tell Matt that I said hi and this is Tim Wallace from Tuscumbia Alabama and ask him do they need any help
she laboured pretty hard there at 5:10
Even at 690 hp in a good crop this combine finds its limits.
Is there not a problem with dew starting that early in the morning
The temperatures here in Kentucky really eliminate due pretty quickly it’s off by about 8:30 in the morning and they can run till 10 maybe sometime even 11 before it sits in.
.....and my loaf of bread only costs $3.99. Just awesome.
Here are some interesting details about the wheat harvested in this video. The wheat in Western Kentucky is milled into McDonalds breakfast biscuits, Cracker Barrell pancakes and Red Lobster Cheddar biscuits. Wheat currently sells for $6.49 a bushel. One bushel of wheat makes 90 one lb loaves of bread.
What is the fuel consumption per hour for X9?
How many loaves of bread per minute?
How do I get the toy tractor times magazine
Do they lease or own the equipment? I could see advantages to leasing.
They own the equipment.
@@bigtractorpowerwow. I would have thought they would be leased. Hefty price tag but to harvest 12000 acres you need lots of machine to do that.
@brians1524 they also have 12,000 acres of corn. Plus they double crop soybeans behind the wheat. In total over 36,000 acres.
😎😎
👍👍
Did the X9 continue on with the winter pre seeding out the back like past JD's🤔
This farm plants soybeans as a second crop right behind the wheat.
👏👏👌👌🚜🚜
👍👍
Do Garnett farms lime all there farm ground
Yes between corn and wheat each September.
Does soybeans go in behind the wheat.
Yes they double crop soybeans right behind the combines.
