    I want to thank you not only your contents but your excellent and clear pronunciation. It makes much more easy to understand for non-english speakers like me.

    Super Warm-up exercise. Two birds with one Stone! This will become my favorite warm-up exercise and I will extense it over the whole range of the sax

    What's the difference between the circle of fithes and fourth's? Great vid by the way!!

    • @OnlineSaxAcademy
      @OnlineSaxAcademy  11 місяців тому

      Essentially it’s the same because a 4th up is the same as a 5th down. The way the circle is traditionally displayed you would practice moving anticlockwise around it (C F Bb Eb…). Moving around it this way creates the root movement of very common chord progressions like ii V Is

    Question: If you're looking to play jazz improv, shouldn't you include the 7th for each of the arpeggios -- not just the tonic, 3d and 5th?

      Hi Jose, it’s hard to diagnose as there may be more than one cause, make sure your reed isn’t too old, on correctly, there are no mechanical problems with the sax, don’t bite too harm on the reed, don’t put too much mouthpiece in your mouth. I hope that helps

  • @DrLogical987
    @DrLogical987 2 роки тому +1

    At 1:35 - I'm not sure it's helpful to say G# and Fb are the same notes. Sure the scales are the same etc. But if you are reading music, they're different.

    • @OnlineSaxAcademy
      @OnlineSaxAcademy  2 роки тому +2

      It’s Gb and F#, they are the same fingerings, same pitches, just two ways of ‘spelling’ them.

    • @DrLogical987
      @DrLogical987 2 роки тому

      @@OnlineSaxAcademy ops! Yes. But, still different when reading.

    • @OnlineSaxAcademy
      @OnlineSaxAcademy  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, you’re right. The focus on this video though is on learning these scales so well that you don’t have to read them (hopefully!). Plus I find a lot of students don’t realise that Gb and F# are the same note so thought it was worth mentioning. But you are right, if you were unfortunate enough to have to read something in Gb major, that would certainly look different to F# Major.
