Came here straight from the OG video to see how my newly purchased babies will look like in a year. Got more than I expected and then some. So happy to see those chunky, lush fellas. Thank you!!
I remember that video when you showed us the damaged plant you'd received. So glad those cuttings thrived and produced such beauties. They are all gorgeous including the mother plant. Thanks, Peggy, great video.
I just love this video. I’m falling more and more in love with the pinnatum albos. Watching your video is like listening to a close friend while having some cake and tea.
Thank you for the kind words. I love this plant and it is so easy to care for. I don't think it gets as much attention as it should but that is probably a good thing. They tend to be more affordable than more highly sought after plants and it will hopefully stay that way. 🌿💚 See you next time for cake and tea!
Just added this plant to my collection well a cutting of this plant!! I truly hope mine can grow as beautiful as yours have!! I'm so excited to watch this baby in all its glorious beauty!!! One baby down many more to add on!!
Very interesting hearing about the progress of the two middle cuttings, aka the problem children lol. I love how the variegation is all over the place.
You convinced me Peggy! 💚After watching your video I found one on Etsy and bought it! It’s a US seller…I paid $78 with free shipping…I hope that was a fair price. Seams really nicely variegated stem and with 5 leaves rooted in soil. Do you remember how much you paid for yours with the shipping since it was international?
I think that is a fair price. I didn't pay much for mine because they weren't popular when I purchased mine. I don't recall exactly what I paid but, when importing, I always purchase several plants so it averages out lower than what I would have paid in the US.
They are so so lretty Peggy! I do not have this plant yet...but after really seeing the beauty of yours....it has me interested! I only see these plants small on other plant videos I have watched.....yours are stunning...great job in your care :) thanks for this video!
Thank you for the vote of confidence! It always feels better when there is a happy ending. This plant really made this process easy. Thanks for watching!
Late to the plant party 😂 as a new plant mom. Just purchased one from my local big box store. Watched your 1st video as well. Thanks for the tips!! New subscriber 🎉
They are all beautiful Peggy. I just purchased a stem cutting, so I hope it thrives as beautifully as yours has. The varigation in your cuttings are amazing! Thanks for your feedback on caring for these plants. These plants are like the offspring of the mixing of pothos and monstera. Lol
I hope yours roots quickly and thrives. They are pretty easy plants to work with. I find them much easier to propagate and grow then the monstera albo. Also, they cost less. Keep me posted on how yours turns out. Thanks for watching.
One of the many things I like about you is that you are a risk-taker! I've been considering the epipremnun pinnatum variegata because I am struggling with my albo syngonium. I think the epi may be simpler for me to deal with. But who knows. The albo syngonium just puts out white leaves that fail before they can even full unfurl. It's making me crazy!
I don't know where you looked and that may be so. If you do find one that inexpensive, it's worth the purchase, IMO. However, when I looked, that's either for one or two leaves or it doesn't include the international shipping. Please be sure to look closely.
@@PeggysPlants Yes, I noticed they only had one or two leaves. I didn’t investigate because I’m not looking to get any at this time. I noticed they were in Etsy shops
I've also just propagated some of these (but plain green) and found that the node cuttings take off faster than the top cutting. I think that's generally true with most climbing aroids. I'm wondering if your top cutting then started to outperform them simply because it's less white and can photosynthesise more. I'd say the top cutting has grown faster simply because it's better able to make food for itself. With middle cutting #1, I think it's given you alternating leaves of mostly white and then more green or half-moon and then back to mostly white simply because the geometry of the plant. The leaves come from alternating sides, so in the shoot of the plant, the green is, at least for the moment, concentrated on one side. You should be able to see that in the stem too. It can change over time, of course. You can see that, at least when you took this video, the green mostly comes out on the left side of the leaves on the right side of the plant.
I agree with all of your conclusions. The top cutting has continued to outperform the others and is giving me beautiful variegation. In fact I had to mount it on a larger moss pole yesterday. Thanks for watching!
I just got one from a private plant seller 4 leaves and 2 coming in stands maybe 5 -6 inches tall I paid $50 I think that was pretty fair I'm so excited It is just a juvenile but it will grow 😁
Thank you for this video! I recently purchases a large mature top cutting and I flew it home with me on a work trip. It started yellowing so I put it in direct sun (it grew up in southern california). It burned a little and wilted. Watching this was super helpful in calming my nerves. Mine rooted top cutting had some yellowing from just traveling and changing temperatures/humidity. Did your yellowing spread or just stop when you moved it from your keys home to your current one?
Once the plant acclimated to the new conditions, it stopped yellowing. However, it isn't out of the ordinary to have leaves that are mostly white, to brown or yellow.
Thank you for the info. I am also in Florida. That is a beautiful plant! I definitely want one. I need something a little easier to care for than my fairly new Marantas and a Pinstripe Calathea I’m still babying along. I love them but still trying to get everything right for them.
Absolutely love your content Peggy! Big love from New Zealand! I’ve just purchased a epipremnum pinatum variegata which is arriving in two days - so excited! Curious, if you’ve used fern fibre & what your thoughts are on it?
Hello and thanks for the kind words. I've never used fern fiber with my plants. I hope your Epipremnum arrived healthy and with great variegation. Thanks for watching!
This video was recorded some time ago so I can't say I remember this plant specifically. However, in general, I do cover or bag most of my propagations.
Honestly, I haven't seen much difference between the ones I'm growing in Leca and the ones growing in soil. I decided to put the mother plant in Leca because the roots weren't in the best condition. I've just never taken the time to transfer it to soil now that the root system is strong.
I'd love to say mine are thriving but can't. I've been going through some things and have neglected many of my plants. It's still alive and I'm hoping to get it growing and happy again. Thanks for watching!
Can I ask whether you let your soil epipremnum dry out all the way before watering, and what kind of ferts are you using in your leca epi? I cut a plant recently and all 8 have rooted well but I'm getting some yellowing and I think it's a water or food issue.
I do let my epi dry out before watering. I add a 1/4 strenght granulated Miracle Grow fertilizer to my water every time I water. I use that for my plants in Leca and soil. Best of luck!
Hi Peggy I been watching you videos since last year at the beginning of Covid. May I ask the international company where you purchased your plants? I would like to try to buy more plants from Indonesia, since I always buys from the US only. Thanks 😊

I saw posting from Indonesia too but I was worried about the process if I need to prepare some arrival document. And also the health of the plant when it gets here. I heard some plants didn’t get through custom at airport and got thrown out cause US are scared of potential harmful bugs and eggs in soil from shippment from different country. Any suggestions?

Once it acclimated, it doesn't brown as often. I'm not doing anything special. I'm not even running a humidifier. Hopefully yours will settle down soon
I’m hoping my Thai con will root I’m not sure what happened it was doing really good and I think the roots plugged the drainage holes and started rotting 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ now I have 2 nodes I’m out of moss so they’re in perlite 🤞🏼
I've had good results rooting in perlite. I've had my Thai Con for more than 2 years and it's still about the same size as when I got it and only 2 leaves. Hopefully yours will do better thank mine. Fingers crossed.
Usually leaves will grow larger as they climb. My bottom leaf is so large because if was that way on the cutting. The leaves are now smaller and will have to work their way back up in size and fenestration.
Came here straight from the OG video to see how my newly purchased babies will look like in a year. Got more than I expected and then some. So happy to see those chunky, lush fellas. Thank you!!

Just beautiful 🪴🥰
I love it! It's a cheaper alternative to the more expensive variegated plants and easier to work with, IMO.
