Thank you Sara for your informative videos. Please make patients beware of knowing the surgeon who will perform surgery on them. I had to go to Emergency in a nearby hospital and was not lucky with the surgeon assigned to me for removal of the gallbladder. Eight days of hospitalization which were horrible. No family members to help because of Covid. I was blown up with liquids to twice my size plus 20 lbs. I was unrecognizable. Like a woman in a fat suit. Depression galore beside pain. It took the longest time to normalize. They also performed an unsuccessful endoscopy intended to clear the bile ducts. Just had to have it done again but still got two painful bile attacks. I will eliminate fats and try some of the vitamins and enzyme products you take. Be well and stay awesome.
I know this is old but I pray things are better for you! I just had my surgery Saturday. My problem was the doctors taking so long to schedule the surgery. I had 5 gallbladder attacks before I went to the ER in pain. By that time I wasn’t eating, weak, and living on pain meds. The only good luck I had was I knew I had a good doctor. I gave them his name and they admitted me in 3hrs. I had surgery the next morning. My original appointment with him was for Tuesday but I couldn’t wait that darn long! I had been suffering for a month doing test. They couldn’t find it with blood test because I didn’t have any infections. I had 298 stones and my gallbladder was the size of an orange. An ultrasound and an endoscopy procedure confirmed it. Now healing is HARD for me. One scar opened up so I’m dealing with that now. I had five scars because it was big. I’m so sorry you had to go through that! I was scared with family by my side. I couldn’t imagine being alone. I pray things are better for you now.
Excellent information thank you. I have just found out I have gall stones and I am being recommended surgery to remove my gallbladder. You’re so stunning too❤
your symptoms from your first video was almost exactly like mine so your videos were very inspiring to me pre-op before my gall bladder removal. Now I am day 13 post gall bladder removal..pls give us an update now again. really appreciate you sharing your journey. btw I am glad they gave you zenpep instead of creon...i been on creon 15yrs (I have CF) and it screwed my gut for sure, gave me alot abdominal pains. I heard zenpep is better. BTW have you tried ox bile instead of PERT (pancreatic enzymes)? i also have normal fecal elastase but my docs also prescribed PERT.,,but now I realize maybe I just needed ox bile . Because if you have normal fecal elastase you should not need PERT like zenpep or creon usually.
Hi. I can feel the pain in your struggles. Must be very frustrating. Your video has got me thinking to go get more tests done before my gall bladder is removed. Be safe🤗
Having a pancreatic insufficient function is generally a secondary issue related to a primary condition and not necessarily caused by lack of a gall bladder. It's my understanding that it is either caused by long term pancreatitis or to non pancreatic things particularly inflammatory bowel disease. I am now 31 years old and have plateaued at about 144lbs unable to gain more. I have gone through a lot of similar issues to you for the past two years with nausea, reflux and sometimes regurgitation, pain that moves from different locations in the abdomen, as well as fluctuating bouts of diarrhea and constipation back and forth. Although in my case I had to have a fundoplication because my esophageal sphincter muscle turned out to be totally non functional during a Bravo PH test. I had hoped that the surgery would take away all my issues but it did not like in your case, the symptoms merely changed. In the case of SIBO or bacterial/fungal overgrowth, they generally prescribe Xifaxin which is an antibiotic that is designed specifically for not being absorbed into the bloodstream it just goes through the bowels. I was on it for several months which helped. But the primary underlying condition that seems to cause all these other issues turned out to be a form of colitis for me. A major problem is all the gas that is produced in intestinal/pancreatic issues so having a constant supply of GasX is a must as well as having medication that slows down the nerves of the gut. I take GasX, ZenPep in the same dosage as you, as well as hyoscyamine to treat the intestinal muscle hyperactivity and pain that is associated with IBD. It's important to note that IBD is different from IBS although symptoms overlap. I am curious about what doctor you saw that finally took your gut issues seriously. I too had that same struggle, with so much money and time lost going to different physicians and "specialists" that don't really do any investigation or legwork if something obvious isn't seen in a scan or scope.
Oh wow, I’m sorry you have to deal with all of this! Thanks for sharing your experience, this is really helpful for me. I’ve never thought I could have IBD because I don’t have many issues with bowel movements; for me, it’s mainly the abdominal pain and nausea. I haven’t had a colonoscopy done, so maybe I’ll need that if symptoms don’t subside. I started having uncomfortable chest pressure and painful bloating a few days ago and just started Xifaxan, so hopefully that’ll help me. I also take hyoscyamine when needed as well. Do you take an anti-inflammatory/auto-immune drug for your colitis? And I go to Dr. Viplove Senadhi in Alabama. I found him after lots of research on forums, and he has much more knowledge than any other GI doctor I went to.

Sara, just found your channel as I'm looking to have a gallbladder removed and your videos popped up. I wanted to say that other than that we have nothing in common since I am old enough to be your grandfather but I did just want to drop this in as retired physician going through similar problems as a young woman, I've really appreciated and admired your posting the videos you did and I hope things turn out better for you than they have in the past. Just found your updated. Big question.... why would you want to "eat normally" as you call it when your body is telling you that it's not good for you? I'm at the beginning of my gallbladder research (and surgery and removal look like my near future) and I'm just kinda thankful that it is forcing me to stop eating poorly. Our bodies are intelligently designed and speak to us. I'm just hoping I can figure this out, maybe fast for a week and my body heal itself......😫😫😫🙏
I’ve always eaten a healthy high protein lower fat diet with occasional treats, but I got so sick to the point where eating anything with more than a few grams of fat made me sick, even if the meal contained healthy unsaturated fats, so I became extremely malnourished because I wasn’t absorbing enough fats and fat-based vitamins. So by “normal”, I wasn’t meaning “unhealthy”, my body was rejecting all fats, which is not normal. I’ve now been on pancreatic enzymes for two years, and I’m back to my “normal” and my body is handling it wonderfully now that I have the proper enzymes to digest my fats. I hope you’re able to figure out your health issues! I would definitely have your doctor do a HIDA scan on your gallbladder to look for gallstones/measure gallbladder function.
One more question..... I would LOVE to avoid surgery. Do you feel like if you had tried the enzymes first then you wouldn't have had to have surgery? Just asking your opinion of how you feel. ... I know to consult my doctor

No my pancreas was never inflamed, and I’ve never had to go to the hospital, nor have I had acute pancreatitis. Apparently you can still have enzyme deficiency without anything showing up on scans. I personally lost weight because I was too scared to eat food because of the pain, but I know that a common symptom of EPI is unexplained weight loss even when eating normally. I actually became constipated once I started having EPI symptoms, but many people experience diarrhea. I would try to go to a GI doctor and see if you can get a fecal elastase test done to check for EPI, or see if they will put you on a trial of pancreatic enzymes to see if that improves your symptoms for you.

I would go see a gastrologist they can take a CT scan of your organs to make sure they’re working properly I kind of had the same symptoms I had acute pancreatitis I actually go in on Monday to get a CT scan to see what was causing my pancreas to be inflamed I was literally having all the same symptoms she described I got to the point where I even went to the emergency room for the pain it felt like a burning sensation started on my right hand side and went to my left hand side the paim even radiated into my back... I would also get checked for H pylori it’s a bacteria in your stomach that causes you to have acid reflex and bloating I also had that I had to take 10 days of anabiotic‘s

Sara omg so sorry im everywhere. Did you ever get burping a lot after your surgery? Im barely two months out and can eat pretty much anything but omg im still nauseous slightly in the morning. Prior to having this damn thing removed I was seriously dry heaving so much it was scary, thought I had cancer. Went away after surgery. Was told mild gastritis was shown in my stomach so not sure if you ever experienced the same at times?
I am going through GI issues myself. Sara you are an angel and a very beautiful woman. I wish I was your boyfriend so I could care for you medically. I shall say a prayer for your physical well-being.
Hey I would go get your vitamin levels checked low vitamin D causes hair loss I also also check your B 12 they say if you have your gallbladder removed that people tend to be low on their vitamins so they have to take supplements
Yes it turns out my vitamin D and iron are low and B12 is normal! I was just diagnosed with Telogen Effluvium which is stress-induced hair loss from all the stress my GI issues have caused me. Unfortunately that means it’ll keep falling out for a few more months, but should grow back eventually.
Every person if different. I’m not qualified to give dietary advice, but I personally was able to go back to a normal diet within a few weeks. I slowly added back in foods that I was worried about to make sure I could handle it.
How can I speak with you I have have the same problem and Followed your steps from day one and now I have the worst pains that come I’m one years after surgery please by email, phone anything please!!!!!
What doctor's do tell you is mostly you abdominal pain is coming from candida overgrowth. It's a bacteria like a yeast infection but it the gut. You can treat it with changing your diet. Plant-based diet or blending up a mixture of fruits and vegetables, drink it day and over time your body will naturally heal.. without having to go through unnecessary surgery. I had my gallbladder removed and it was not necessary. Educate yourself before doing something you're going to regret!
Six years later and still more beautiful and courageous than ever. So glad to hear you're doing better!!!
No waaayyyyyy!!!!!!!! She’s back!!!!!! So happy to see u back! Wishing u the best moving forward 💪

Hey Sara, How are you doing now?
Plz comeback!
What test did you do???...n how are you now?? Can you eat fats and deserts now??
Maam..i had my surgery a week before......would i be able to eat normally...i mean veg and non veg both after 5-6months?
Every person if different. I’m not qualified to give dietary advice, but I personally was able to go back to a normal diet within a few weeks. I slowly added back in foods that I was worried about to make sure I could handle it.
Next week
How can I speak with you I have have the same problem and Followed your steps from day one and now I have the worst pains that come I’m one years after surgery please by email, phone anything please!!!!!
What doctor's do tell you is mostly you abdominal pain is coming from candida overgrowth. It's a bacteria like a yeast infection but it the gut. You can treat it with changing your diet. Plant-based diet or blending up a mixture of fruits and vegetables, drink it day and over time your body will naturally heal.. without having to go through unnecessary surgery. I had my gallbladder removed and it was not necessary. Educate yourself before doing something you're going to regret!
are you still taking zenpep or are you fine without it please reply sara
Hello. I'm glad you're okay. Can you write down what you're eating and is there anything you can't do? Do you have instagram? Thank you
