This is a quick video to demonstrate how to make an easy trendy headband using your favourite fabrics. This easy DIY project is also a great scrap fabric busting project. It is also good for repurposing your old plastic headbands.
note The headband I have used in this video measures 3cm wide at the widest part. And I bought it randomly on eBay.

Hiya I just watched your videos and I love wearing headbands and I want to do it myself, so where do you get your fabric glue from, the plastic headband and the black fabric for the ends.

Yes it will work with cotton but you have to enlarge the pattern a bit

Hello Meagan, yes you can make it using woven fabric but I have a separate free pattern for the woven fabrics

What thread tension are you at? I think mine might be too tight
Ok for the stretch fabric I used a narrow zig zag stitch and I used stretch / jersey needle (ballpoint)

Doesn't the hole under the knot get bigger without closing it?
That’s how I felt when I first made mine but I’ve been wearing it for so long and no, the hole doesn’t get bigger. You can actually close it by hand stitching it.

Yes it should- depending on the thickness. But please do a little test run

Yes, absolutely you can but that would mean that your band would be a bit lighter. experiment with it and tweak it to suit the fabric you choose.

What if the headbands are narrow or wider than what yours was in the video
You could enlarge or reduce the width of the fabric to work for the size of the headband.

Your pattern says for "woven" fabric, which is incorrect. Woven fabrics, such as quilting cotton, have no stretch. 😢
