I just made ground beef from a a Tenderloin using this food processor on my A3500. Worked like a charm! I had been planning on buying a meat grinder. Not any more!
You know i'm also the expert of these machines except i'm expert in food processors and not blenders. İ really like the idea of Vitamix making a food processor attachment. There are a lot of useful things of it. But in my opinion I can say that instead of only 1 speed, they could have made it between 10 or 5. So that you could control everything that is going on. Another lacking thing is they could have add attachment for whisking, kneading dough, citruss pressing, or even juice extracting
I saw this Vitamix blender advertised the other day on Amazon. I was like, this sounds good but I wonder if it really works as well as they say. Then your video showed up today on my UA-cam and I clicked immediately. Liked your demo, it answered some questions I had. I may just have to add this to my Christmas list wants. Thanks for your informative video.
Another great reason to get this ! I also have the Breville Sous Chef, which is great, but I REALLY am trying to embrace a minimalist lifestyle, so I'll be adding this to my Ascent and saving a big chunk of counter space, while also passing down the food processor to my daughter, who has an older model Vitamiz and no food processor :) win win !
I had the enormous and hard to store Breville Sous Chef Peel and Dice 16 Cup Food. After struggling with the storage of all the attachments and hubby complaining about too much on the counter, I sold it on FB Marketplace for an excellent price and got the Ninja Auto IQ Professional, which is fine. No complaints after a couple of years of high use. The big plus is that it fits under the cabinet (16" tall). I wish this one was a tad lower to fit under our kitchen cabinet!
The key to keeping any blade from your shaving razors to your food processor blades is to never let them stay wet for very long. Moisture kills the blades! Even though many food processor/blenders claim to be dishwasher safe they always Recommend never submerging or putting them in the dishwasher. It's the same as with your knives. I shave my face in the shower and when I learned this tip I went from having to go through one schick quatro Blade per week to now using the same razor for at least 3 months. I rinse it then immediately dry it and never store it in the shower. Just to recap you need to Clean then rinse then immediately dry any blade that you want to stay sharp.
Incredible tip, Kip. I alluded to that in the video when showing us handwashing it. We do the same with our Vitamix container (and all other dishers). Especially with knives, quick wash and hand-dry is the secret. Keeps them from getting rust stains, too. 👍
I thought I’d respond here because this is an area I’m too experienced with. Blade edges wear for a number of reasons, such as: wear from use, poorly sharpened blades (leaving a thin piece of weak metal at the apex), poor heat treat, harsh conditions, and corrosion. Dishwashers are incredibly harsh environments. Places with a lot of salt are incredibly harsh environments (saltwater, the air near saltwater, etc.). Most razor blades and kitchen knives are quite stainless, but all it has to do is slightly wear down the very edge of the blade to make it feel dull and weaken performance. Lastly, stainless steel does not mean it’s completely resistant to corrosion. It means that it has a chromium content of a certain amount that SHOULD prevent corrosion. It doesn’t always work that way due to heat treatment of the steel or the composition of the steel. I’m curious whether Vitamix used a higher quality blade steel in this than is typically found from other brands so that it has an extremely long life like the rest of their products.
@@Cujobob One often unconsidered factor for edge care is when water dries it leaves behind a small amount of minerals which tend to be quite hard and cause wear (usually microscopic, but it adds up over time) at the apex of the blade edge. Simply drying the blade prevents this avenue of wear and prolongs edge life. Dishwashers do not allow for this.
You are the guru when it comes to Vitamix, saw few of your videos and they are amazing. The best part is how simple you explain and your suggestions are not biased
The Best Review I’ve see so far as always!! Got most info from your review Cos I love your comparisons between different foods and settings!! Very helpful!!👏 Thanks!!😊
I just got an Explorian 310 and I LOVE it. I have had a high-quality Cuisinart Food Processor for 45 years now and it's still going strong. I'm fussy about my shredded cabbage and usually have the patience to do it with my mandolin as the texture is superior. Now that I have the Vitamix, the Food Processor will likely stay in my cupboard for very long periods. I was using it for hummus, nut butter, and nice cream for the most part. Vitamix is so much easier for all of those.
Amazed that you're so new to a processor as a vegan. I bought my first Cuisinart in college in the late 70's and have never looked back. Of course, back then 'they' were saying that FP's would replace blenders, but a good kitchen has and uses both.
It's the M's I a busy mom so I do like that it blends without me being near it. And I like that it can blend a hot soup but because it’s plastic jar I don’t want it to heat down the plastic and for me to ingest that. So I blend a soup cold as a smoothie and put it in a pot to heat it up. And one of the biggest deciding points for me was the hope that Vitamix will come out with a food processor attachment for this model. So decided on the purchase. If you can take a moment to blend and already have a favorite food processor that is working well and you plan on using it for years, I don’t advice you buy this model. Hope I was helpful. I wrote my buying process cause you can see why I went with this model.
LENNY: It won't fit on a 750. ME: Hmm...Hold my smoothie. (Hand surrenders smoothie and reaches for a Dremmel .) 😉 DISCLAIMER: The safety features this attachment offers with the new motor bases would be non-existent if fit to an older model base. AND needless to say, any warranty would be history as soon as the first tab (See 3:25) was cut in any way.
Nice review. I was already going to get it. I work hard, so certain things I don’t leave to chance. Years ago I refused to get a Vitamix or Dyson. Now it’s not even an option. I just spend the money because I like results, and companies who stand by their products with great warranties. Only complaint is after I upgraded my Vitamix to the new ascent series bundle at Williams Sonama, they had a sale 2 weeks later - $50.00 off the bundle🙄🤬🙄🤬🙄
WOW!! This is great. Just yesterday I bought another attachment for my vitamix. At the store I had been looking over the various food processors but as usual didn"t buy one. I really really want a food processor but some are so huge and storage is a big deal. Sooo fast forward...today..stumbled upon your website....almond butter yum yum soups yumm...ok ..so then this video caught my eye. I'm sold Fantastic. I have the smart vitamix..bought it 3 years ago and take it with me if I go for away. I have waited so long to decide on a food processor since my mother's old one died. It must have been at least 30 years old. Thank you LifeIsNoYoke.
Rebecca Melin I’m waiting on my order lol. COVID shipping time. But, I’ve used older food processors in the past. They are ok, but huge footprint. I was trying to find one that I could deal with, then saw the Vitamix attachment and fell in lurve. One machine, and I’ve always wanted a Vitamix. So, happy early Christmas/Soltice/Chanukah/New Year’s to me 😆
I have the older Vitamix. It does not have pre-sets on it. It came with a 48 ounce container that I hated. I bought the 64 ounce and it made a world of difference. I have the dry grains container that use to grind my coffee all the time. I just ordered the stainless steel container. I am a manual type of girl and am having a hard time giving up the manual buttons for the ascent series. I have been following your channel since i got my Vitamix about 4 years ago. I love it and use it all the time. I read a review about the containers for the ascent series where people had problems in blending small batches of things in those squatty containers. Thoughts? I want to give my son a Vitamix, either mine, and I upgrade or buy him one. I have an old Cuisinart processor I will never given up, so I don't know that I would buy this one. Thank you.
Great Review - One of your best! Really nice job covering so much detail and shared some good insight too. (Just enough side-bar-funny with the comments about the voice echo ;)) The product looks awesome, probably in my future. Can't wait to see more on how to use it. Thanks so much!
We're getting a lot of questions about availability. Unfortunately, the FPA is only available in the US and Canada right now. We'll email when that changes lifeisnoyoke.com/keepmeupdated/
When you do some demos, please give the dimensions of the attachments to make sure they will fit on my shelves. The way it was stacked up it looked very tall. I have a great food processor with tons of attachments but I never take it out because it’s a pain. My vita mix is always on my counter so this will be more convenient. I use my processor for shredding cheese and making date based faux“chocolate truffles”. Thanks!
Thanks thanks thanks for posting this!!!!! I was unaware of the safety feature and thought something is wrong with my A3500!!! But the moment you mentioned the safety stick has to be in to work,,,,,, I am happy!!!! THANKS 🙏🏼🙏🏼super cute family 💕💕specially the little ones
I know this is an older video. But I was watching one of your other videos because I just bought the A3500 and this food processor and some other items the other day. And that video ruined me. It was the video when you talked about the Navy Matte w/Gold Trim that did me in. When I purchased my second Vitamix (I already had the Pro 750) I bought the Systems Bundle. However, it came with the white frame/silver accents. It was not the color I would have chosen, but the bundle was sweet. After watching those videos I suffered buyers remorse. I need to go back and get the Sage Matte w/Gold accents. And now that I know all about it from you and your channel, I am returning the system. Unfortunately, I will lose the $25 discount and the bundle special, but oh well. And I have been on your website. I will add your affiliate code when checking out. Thanks for everything…
Great review! I was looking for a food processor and wondered if Vita Mix had one... and voila! Just wish it would work with my older model... A big investment, so I don't want to get rid if it since it's been hardly used. Bummer.
It’s not available, and US processors are not compatible with UK motor bases. I learned the hard way. I have one I imported and it doesn’t work with my UK Ascent base.
I'm waiting, but I'm so excited! i mentioned on another video a disability. Makes chopping hard and I love cooking. If you could find the time, please test tomatoes in a pico de gallo (not salsa). This is what I miss making most!
Planning on buying a Vitamix this week So stock on what to buy?! Go with the ascent range and worry about finicky tech and the limitation of the jar that comes with the unit as the U.K versions only come with the standard jar. Get this with the extra smaller baby food cups and the longer single ones Or get a classic! Help guys I have around £650 to invest
Apparently it will not work on EU or Uk machines and possibly other markets, likely due to a variance in safety requirements. But you should definitely check from time to time to see if this lack of ability changes for your market area.
this is the second or third video of yours that I have watched, and i just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the detailed reviews. Personally, I would like stronger conclusions to help me make decisions.
Appreciate it. With reviews like this, our main goal is to help people in different situations decide if it is or isn't best for them. Shoot us an email if you need help with anything hello@lifeisnoyoke.com
unfortunately no! and there is no answer on my question I have send to Vitamix USA will it be available in EU soon! :( If You find an answer please let me know to!
Yes. I would just use a Dremmel tool to grind away the restriction tabs in the base (See 3:25). That ought to do the trick. It will still work on the new bases too after that. (Unless the NFC chip is in one of those tabs. I am certain it is not) That said, the safety features this attachment offers with the new motor bases would be non-existent. So there is a safety issue / increased dangers in doing what I suggest. AND needless to say, any warranty would be history as soon as the first tab was cut in any way.
Ronald Santos yea , who cares about the safety feature being lost... it’s not as if we’re 10 years old not knowing what I’m doing the using the attachment. Ridiculous on Vitamix decision part. Anyways thx for the reply.
Can you use the pulse function with the food processor? Yours and another video seemed to suggest that it only operates on the one slowed down speed from the blender. BTW....love that you value Harriet Tubman and are promoting that shirt. So cool!
@@LINYThx will follow along. If you ever talk to someone at vitamix would be great if you could ask them. Would be a huge sales potential for them. Fingers crossed :)
Vitamix a3500 in the UK costs £675 compare to the $599 in the USA!! Plus there is a lot more colour options in the USA,more attachments available in USA as well! Bad marketing in my opinion with expensive product. Wish they would make the food processor available in the UK as well as the white base option
It's a real puzzle why the accessories won't for the European model. Can they be so different? Also can't understand why more colour options are available.
Once you find “your ideal method” you will be delighted. A demonstrator maybe able to clew you in on the way she or he does it. It is easy once you know how for all of the similarly designed Vitamix lid locks. I use my thumb and forefingers on both sides of the lid simultaneously, it works perfectly. Initially, I do understand that it is difficult as it was for me early in my purchase.
I mixed a pastry dough for an 11 inch beef pie for a quiche pan. Wow! The dough came together perfectly in seconds using the standard blade, I was impressed, so was my partner. For me dough preparation will be entirely different and never be the same as before. The crust on the pie after baking was excellent.
I ordered the anniversary 3500i last night. I've also got a Bamex bleeder though with a shredding / grating attainment so between the two i should be covered.
Have you tried nut butters in the food processor attachment. Wanting to know how it would compare to a Robot Couple Blixer. I expect the Blixer yo be better. But is it with the huge cost difference.
I am based in Australia and have an Ascent 2500 with the container it came with. I have just purchased the Food Processor attachment assembled it and the self detect isn’t working. The lid is on and the large pusher and small pusher in place. Wondering if the jug from Amazon is not compatible on the base sold here in Australia.
The breville one has more accessories and can do a larger variety of things. I have the dicing attachment and I use a regularly to do mass batches of hash browns or salsas.
TY! So the 5200 can't take the food processor attachment? The 310 can't make soup or nut butter? For the cook who sucks with technology, which would you recommend (if it has tech, it has to be easy to use, I'm hopeless). P.S. I have no aversion to a reconditioned model. I am looking for the best deal but does the job.
It’s ashame. I was hoping this would be the solution to downsize my appliances. I have a cuisinart food processor and Vitamix; this was the chance to consolidate. Setup the new Vitamix food processor to shred some nice parm reg and the plastic knuckles busts on the small shred. Just stay to the appliance that is meant to do this, cuisinart. I’m sure Vitamix will re-release this to be more reliable and durable, but needs a more integrated component.
Blending with Henry stated it had a 7 to 1 Reduction gear system. meaning the Vitamix motor has to spin around 7 time to have one full evolution on the food processor
Great video! I have watched several on the new food processor. The one thing I think I saw on most is that there is still food stuck in the lid between the blade of the processor that doesn't get completely shredded or sliced. About how much food is left unprocessed? TY!
After owning a vitamix i learned something. Don’t mash beans with the blender. The whole container shook and the blender was dancing across the table and the lid jumped off the jar.
What do I do if it doesn’t detect the processor anymore? Everything is put together along with the top part that prevents you from putting your hand in.
Hi I notice none of the UA-cam videos have demos of grating cheese. There have been complaints on vitamin website & Reddit about it not doing very well with grating cheese. I would have ordered one by now if I knew it worked. Have you tied grating cheese? Shredded cheese foe day tacos? Thank you! Love all your videos.
I just made ground beef from a a Tenderloin using this food processor on my A3500. Worked like a charm! I had been planning on buying a meat grinder. Not any more!

A kneading attachment sounds awesome. I'm curious if a juice-extracting attachment is in the works or cannibalize their core offering

Apparently it will not work on EU or Uk machines and possibly other markets, likely due to a variance in safety requirements. But you should definitely check from time to time to see if this lack of ability changes for your market area.
Didn’t know I had to have the newest blender. Thank you!!!
LOVE it!!! Also love the shirt!!! Thank you for sharing. I will be buying this. And the shirt!
Very keen to hear how it does nut butters!
this is the second or third video of yours that I have watched, and i just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the detailed reviews. Personally, I would like stronger conclusions to help me make decisions.
Appreciate it. With reviews like this, our main goal is to help people in different situations decide if it is or isn't best for them. Shoot us an email if you need help with anything hello@lifeisnoyoke.com
does work with the UK European version blender!
I got A3500i Ascent Series.
unfortunately no! and there is no answer on my question I have send to Vitamix USA will it be available in EU soon! :( If You find an answer please let me know to!
Longtime watcher! And.....I just subscribed when he showed the tee!
So glad to have ya
I’m sure they’ll be a way to physically mod hack to unit to work with the 750 or explore an series...
Yes. I would just use a Dremmel tool to grind away the restriction tabs in the base (See 3:25). That ought to do the trick. It will still work on the new bases too after that.
(Unless the NFC chip is in one of those tabs. I am certain it is not)
That said, the safety features this attachment offers with the new motor bases would be non-existent.
So cool!
pulse function works as a quick on and off yeah. but it's true that there's only one speed (no matter what the dial is set at)
Any news if Vitamix will release a centrifuge juicer anytime soon? Blows my mind they haven’t done it already. Thank you for some inside.
👀 folks on our newsletter will be the first to know if and when lifeisnoyoke.com/newsletter/
You have a beautiful family thanks for sharing. I upgraded my creations II to an A2500. Now I’m going to have to get this attachment.
Getting the lid on is a bit of a struggle , but getting it off, is a real pain in the neck
I love your shirt!!!!!
Can this mix bread doughs? Could you compare it to say, a Breville Food Processor?
I mixed a pastry dough for an 11 inch beef pie for a quiche pan. Wow! The dough came together perfectly in seconds using the standard blade, I was impressed, so was my partner. For me dough preparation will be entirely different and never be the same as before. The crust on the pie after baking was excellent.
I ordered the anniversary 3500i last night. I've also got a Bamex bleeder though with a shredding / grating attainment so between the two i should be covered.
Great review...I want this but I have the 5200 maybe it’s time for a new vitamix :)
That’s what I’m thinking too!
Have you tried nut butters in the food processor attachment. Wanting to know how it would compare to a Robot Couple Blixer. I expect the Blixer yo be better. But is it with the huge cost difference.
Great info as usual. But....who was that young man in some of the shots? That cannot be y’all’s baby boy! Lordy!!
Great video. Will it fit the a2300?
I spent 900$ on a 7500 series CAD🇨🇦 where’s my damn attachment🤨🥺🇨🇦
Totally agree!
Is it for Vitamix Venturist V1200?
I was excited until you said that it won’t work with the older version. 😢
Did you ever post the videos you said were in the works for the food processor? I can't seem to find any. Thanks for the great Vitamix help as always!
Not yet! We usually wait a while before making a follow-up
I have A $500 Breville food processor and I still want this 😭
The breville one has more accessories and can do a larger variety of things. I have the dicing attachment and I use a regularly to do mass batches of hash browns or salsas.
😁 I understand the feeling
Yessss!!! I feel the same 😭
Me too😟
What model do you have?
What models does the 12 cup food processor attachment fit? Cost?
I tried to click the link, but it took me to the page We're sorry. OH, and I love the shirt!
Thank you for the review.
Can this be used in place of the dry grains container too?
Im so excited for this
It’s ashame.
Hi may i know which cusinart model do u own?
Can it be used on a Pro 750?
Blending with Henry stated it had a 7 to 1 Reduction gear system. meaning the Vitamix motor has to spin around 7 time to have one full evolution on the food processor
Sounds right. I said 10 off-the-cuff 🤷🏻♂️
I do it all the time and it doesn't dance around, lol. I just have to add enough water
What do I do if it doesn’t detect the processor anymore? Everything is put together along with the top part that prevents you from putting your hand in.
Hi
I notice none of the UA-cam videos have demos of grating cheese. There have been complaints on vitamin website & Reddit about it not doing very well with grating cheese. I would have ordered one by now if I knew it worked. Have you tied grating cheese? Shredded cheese foe day tacos? Thank you! Love all your videos.
This attachment can attach to vita prep 3 2020 model?
Frederick Douglas deserves it more he did more he should be the next one
I've been wanting a food processor...bummed that this doesn't work on my E350😭
Your E310? Yeah, I'm bummed about that, too.
@@LINY oh yeah sorry. E310.. bought it last December. Should've just gotten the Ascents series😭
does the self cleaning button work with this @Lifeisnoyoke ?
how does this compare to the kitchenaid standmixer food processor attachment?
I just love the vitamix
Welcome to the party :)
I'm sorry I couldn't buy through you because I love your channel but I am from Europe. I wish you all the best!
Love mine
Hi..please advise..I have the vitamix 3500 ascend & just bought the FP attachment through amazon, unfortunately my machine couldn't detect it..:(
