I was 15 when I went to his concert, I’m 74 now, I danced all night won the dance contest, got to go back stage and meet ray and the Raelets! I was so excited, damn I wish we had cel phones for the selfies, no Kodak moment captured. Damn. Lol
Hey guys, I'm an almost 60 yr.old, white woman and just want to say I enjoy the crap out of you two! Really love seeing your reactions to some real classics. Keep up the great work!
I love you guys....I am an ER nurse and we’re all dealing with heavy stuff right now, and you guys come along and make me smile and warm my heart. I shared a lot of your videos on FB and a lot of my friends subscribed too. Keep it up!
Love you, Nurse Susan. If you’re in Texas, we have a support program for emergency services workers at Methodist Healthcare Systems. www.servicedogs.org
I was 12 in 1962 but I had two older sisters and they played it and played it so 'Hit the Road Jack' was the first hit song I remember learning and have always loved it.
Ray will always be a cultural treasure, and will always be missed . Thank you for the shout out. Play I can’t stop loving you! He changed our viewpoint on country music with that song
One of the happiest moments in my life was seeing Ray Charles live. It was outside at a free festival on a lovely day in Detroit. Sitting there watching him sing Georgia On My Mind was so beautiful and surreal. The crazy thing was how many empty seats there were. He was considered "washed up" at the time. Empty seats at a free festival for Ray Charles. SMH. One of the highlights of my life. He played and sang perfectly. He was a very special person. Rest in peace.
Okay, check out Ike & Tina Turner “River Deep, Mountain High” (1966) It was recoded on mono aural (as opposed to stereophonic). Tina Turner is a powerhouse and that song is a definite banger.
Was privileged to see him in concert so many years ago! He was amazing! Thank you so much for taking the time to appreciate the classics! I have found a new FAVORITE UA-cam channel to follow! You two are a joy to watch!
I’ve been to 2 concerts in my life (46) and Ray Charles was 1 of those. I saw him in the 80’s in Corpus Christi, TX. I didn’t realize what a legend he was then. I’m grateful for the experience.
You may remember this from the movie, but the most amazing thing about Ray Charles is how business-savvy he was. In an era when the record companies stole the artists blind (still do), blind Ray Charles drove bargains and got contracts to where he owned all his music -- not the record label. It's fun watching you two enjoy music, but I hope you can learn some of the business acumen Ray had, too!
Ray Charles is one of the greatest artists that ever lived. I'm glad you mentioned the film. And his Album, Modern Sounds of Country an Western is one of the best albums ever.
I remember being 7 years old... and riding with my dad in the car with the radio playing. Every time this song would come on he'd sing along with Ray ♥️
Ray Charles was the icon !! I grew up hearing that song my Grams used to sing it to me when I was young ... I like what y’all are doing ... my music is all over the place to so it’s cool to see younger guys checking out the older classics 👍🏼👍🏼
Also if yous are taken requests I like What’s Luv fat Joe ft Ashanti this is the spring break one I was actually at this performance ... I was in the pool 😁😁 ua-cam.com/video/ZWQCGtT--CE/v-deo.html. Then I think this is the MV. ua-cam.com/video/VpvyG2NrS1Y/v-deo.html
Love you guys!!!! I have been trying to watch all your videos so I can like them all. It has filled all my spare time and broken me out of my pandemic funk! Keep it going you Rock!!!
I had to watch it twice. The first time I watched Ray, he's too much fun to watch. The 2nd time I watched you two, turned out to be just as much fun. Thank you!
Ray Charles was a talented, cool cat who lived an extraordinary and amazing life. You both demonstrate remarkable and admirable versatility in your vast selection of musical artists to review. Great job.
Ray had a great sense of humor too! One night at The Whiskey A Go GO (in Hollywood), in a dressing room that looked out on the street, one of the guys saw a woman walking down the street, and said "oh man! Look at this!" Ray hopped up and yelled "Let me see, let me see!"
One of my favs. Made a tape with this song to use in my car for travelling. The 'KIDS' loved it. We would roll down the windows and all sing it at the top of our lungs. We made many people driving in their cars SMILE as they pasted us! Another fun one I put on the tape..."If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, make an ugly woman your wife...." Now, it wasn't PC but it was fun to sing!
I just watched you reacting to Georgia on My Mind and suggested this. Ray Charles could write it all! He had been doing that song of decades. Originally, he it was just a hit song. Here he is, in his old age, singing this song for the millionth time, and now he has added this whole story to go with it! He is making it new all over again. That is talent and love of your craft. He is one of the many singers who took his musical cue from singing gospel songs in church. I was happy to hear you say you heard that influence! God bless.
Ray...such a treasure! Glad you guys got to see him in full effect. They don’t make them like Ray anymore. A TRUE classic! Love you guys...keep ‘em coming! 🎬
You guys are helping me appreciate songs I’d not heard for a while. You’re also very positive people and I’m sure that is helping us all feel that bit better. Thank you. First heard this fabulous song in the film The Dream Team as a teenager and loved it ever since! 🏴
Please never stray, stay on the same track and you will go far in life. Love what you're doing guys, best thing for race relations. Music brings us all together.
Communicating by talking will help a lot more. Just saying, music has been around a very long time, really hasn’t changed much in Black/white relationships☹️but I still give props to these two young men for their contribution👍🏽It’s gonna take all of us who really want change to do what we can to make our world a better place for all!
Oh yeah, Ray Charles and the Raylettes! Legendary. When I was little (about 7 or 8 in 1961 or '62) I remember my brothers playing this record (among others) at a party. All the girls had beehive hairdos and the boys dressed like the Righteous Brothers. Those were the days!
"WHAT A SONG !!!" Be watching this over and over ... ~ such a catchy tune ~ Love Ray Charles and loved watching you two on your reaction. I will link and share your You Tube channel with my sixteen years old son in Ohio. I'm 63 and get a kick out of your reactions to so much music I grew up on and through the decades of my life. Music connects us all to the times and experiences of our individual life's. Music is life }}}}}}} and feeds the soul }}}}}}}}
I still have the Bobby Darrin version on the original 45. It was my mom's so it was around before I was born, so I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to that version.
You both are really good guys and I thank you for being true gentlemen! Ray Charles is another legend. Thank you for sharing your wonderful reaction to him! 🔥💜🔥
The man is in nearly every Hall of Fame that exists for music. He has one of the greatest country music albums of all time that is credited with a significant rise in popularity of country music. Genius! I miss him.
I was 15 when I went to his concert, I’m 74 now, I danced all night won the dance contest, got to go back stage and meet ray and the Raelets! I was so excited, damn I wish we had cel phones for the selfies, no Kodak moment captured. Damn. Lol

Everyone was singing Hit the Road Jack when it came out when I was in high school in 1962.
I was 12 in 1962 but I had two older sisters and they played it and played it so 'Hit the Road Jack' was the first hit song I remember learning and have always loved it.
Ray Charles's song "Georgia On My Mind" gives me All The Feels every time I hear it!! I'm a Georgia girl so it's extra special to me. 🥰
He couldn't see but he could FEEL it!
I am impressed that you two are doing this, and doing a great job. Love it!
Ray Charles was loved by everyone who heard him. So much talent. He might not see the world, but he made the world see him. And they did.
Ray will always be a cultural treasure, and will always be missed . Thank you for the shout out. Play I can’t stop loving you! He changed our viewpoint on country music with that song

Tina would blow them away with that.

My daddy used to always sing “Hit the Road Jack” to me when I was a kid and I jokingly sassed him. 😂

Ray Charles was soo awesome
Louis Armstrong: Mack The Knife (Live 1956)
I prefer the Booby Darin version, but both are good.
And I prefer Ella Fitzgerald version 🙃
I hear you. Ella's is also great. Both Louis and Ella are the classics on that one.
I still have the Bobby Darrin version on the original 45. It was my mom's so it was around before I was born, so I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to that version.
UA-cam search the Louis Armstrong live version in London 1957? It's a classic
68 year old women..love you guys!
Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Leon Russell...A song for you. Makes me cry every time.
And as an aside...Jamie Fox in the movie "Ray". I thought I was watching the real Ray Charles. Jamie is amazing.
Temptations, too. Great version of A Song For You!
You both are really good guys and I thank you for being true gentlemen! Ray Charles is another legend. Thank you for sharing your wonderful reaction to him! 🔥💜🔥
My favorite version of "America the Beautiful" was Rays.
Amen to that! The BEST.
The live version
I know this vid is like 6 weeks old, but I've been mad binging. It's nice to see first reactions to music I've loved forever.
Love your open-mindedness & style. Your Ma & Da did something right to raise such cute kids.
The man is in nearly every Hall of Fame that exists for music. He has one of the greatest country music albums of all time that is credited with a significant rise in popularity of country music. Genius! I miss him.
No nicer thing than singing and clapping along your reactions... 😂🤘🏾
Love you! Great reactions and reviews of some great music!!!
They are killing me I am 14 years old and I know every song they play by heart. Are they living under a rock
Agh yea I Love me some Ray Charles. 👏👏.
He's one of my faves & who I look to for inspiration on the piano.
Love it, this is one of the records my parents played on the weekends
Ooh, my man, Ray!!! Love him!!! "I can't stop lovin' you!", "I'm busted", his rendition of the "National Anthem"!!! Gotta listen to them!!!
"If you don't like jazz bro, you crazy..." My thoughts exactly....
Love RAY CHARLES❤️
Love it. I sing it to my grandson all the time. Lol
Love Ray Charles and you know Stevie Wonder and him are two of the best artists who are and were great activists
Yes, you can follow your dreams, but having the talent and genius of Ray helps, and is rare. He was one of a kind.
