Procession To The Minster
Conductor: Brian Grant
Adrian Boult Hall Birmingham
05/02/2011
This was a joint concert with The Birmingham Schools Brass Band
Coming from the town of Barnsleybut now a resident of Street inSom reset it fills my sole with pride to be able to wonder of the magical sounds of the band who are up amongst the best. My now dececeased wife used to hear them on a regular basis but pride of place must be when we went to New York to hear them at the famous Carnige hall several years ago .word cannot describe the pride of listening to them perform in such an iconic place one of the musical highlights of our life.
Ohh That ending..! Just when you thought they couldn't give any more, they pull the stops out and lift the roof off.. Bloody marvellous.
Thanks for posting this.
As a bass player myself I marvel at the sound that bass section produces; any bass player worth his salt should LOVE playing this, show the wee piddly instruments how to blow!! lmao Seriously though awesome performance by an awesome band, BRAVO!!
AKA "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral" from Wagner's opera "Lohengrin".
Beautiful!
Wow.. playing this at Birmingham junior conservatoire, amazing piece. Played so well by these guys, absolutely incredible performance :D
Good to hear from HBB again
Bravo !! Fantastic rendition of this piece well done band !!
wow... next door to conservatoire as well :D
Unbelievable
I just wonder why one of the EEb basses plays this on one leg. Terrific playing though. What a sound!!
because a bass player can do it on 1 leg ;-)
Sublime.
