I was Ross' roommate for several years. I wish for everyone to know that Ross was extremely hard working as a musician. He would come home after teaching at GIT all day and immediately get on the piano (he seemed to do most of his writing on his upright piano). He wrote out his own music and was constantly refining it. I thought very highly of him as a player and sometimes, he would step into my room and compliment me or ask me about something I was playing - and boy did that do wonders for encouraging me with my playing. His work ethic, drive and personal warmth are what Ross taught me. Jack Thrift
I didn't knew that Ross was passed away, it is a sad new, I had known him through his funk method, a true good funky' stuff ... so he gave me a lot with this one, and i will remember all my life, cause' like everybody here, we love guitar, we love learn, and we always remember the good guys like Ross, sharing with us his passion, be sure your work will carry on with my students etc you will be never forget ... Rest in Peace , god bless from France.
Well… just saw Ross on a Moollon pedal demo, which then lead me here. I was just feeling nostalgic, because I took a funk guitar class taught by Ross at MI in ‘97. Now I’m totally bummed to see that he passed away. WTH… I’ll always remember the time that Ross told me, during a live performance class, to dig in harder. And that he’d even give me [some amount of money] if I managed to break a string during that performance. Haha. RIP, Ross :(

Just started working my way thru his funk video.1st class!
I was blessed to learn from him in 2011 at MI. A truly fantastic guitarist, an incredible musician and a most beautiful soul.
Awesome playing you can feel every note!
POCKET! I learned more from his Funk VHS than any thing else. Rest in Piece.
Rest In Peace Ross.
Gone but never forgotten.

I knew Ross in high school in Eugene. An extremely talented musician even back then. And on top of it a really nice guy.
Ross is a legend and in death he lives on!
