We did the powder/mascara combo. in the 90s and it didn't do anything other than clumping the mascara.
Things get reformulated. Mascaras back then probs clumped more easily. Plus the hack didn't clump her lashes on the video.
The blush hack requires two things: a stronger blush and a particular face-shape. That's something most of these 'hack' creators forget, and why you should approach any that aren't from actual makeup artists (those who put makeup on other people professionally) with skepticism. Faces aren't all the same shape, and things that work for one face-shape (like blush or bronzer application) are not going to be universal.
Two things that I had learned from this hack series: first, it's cheaper and safer to just buy the right product. Second, it's cheaper and easier to just become a professional makeup artist than to master the damn hack technique 🤣🤣
Interesting that the undereye bag trend has reached the States. It’s been a very popular Asian makeup trend for years. Western makeup trends tend to flatten out the entire undereye area with heavy brightening concealer, but the bag trend accentuates the contour under the eye to supposedly make the eyes appear larger and give the face a more youthful appearance, like the way babies have such huge eyeballs for their faces that they have natural bulging bags under their eyes. I don’t really like this use of lipliner to create the shadow though…the red makes the eyes look kind of sickly.
Is there another product that is typically used for this application?
@@OSCARMlLDE from what I’ve seen, beige or greyish eyeshadow is usually used to create the undereye bag look, applied with a small precision brush and blended slightly to soften the line.

Not a fan of the eye bags and the nose contour. It just made your nose look red and the under eye line makes no sense if you have hollow eye sockets or already dark circles…

The powder hack for the eyelashes was done in the 1930s. This is a very old hack. Nothing new

Nico does best products, not best hacks.
These are hacks that can hurt your eyes (powder in the eyes), make you look like your dead or hung over (contour) or my personal favorite lets wear our blush on our eyes and cheeks like it's 1987 again! YAY! NOPE! I think most makeup artist would just say follow the K.I.S.S. rule. Keep is simple stupid. 🤣

@@futuristicgirl14 I have those protruding under eyes naturally and always hated it. I was surprised when I saw korean mua’s doing it on purpose, but it looks much better on them than on me.
(It probably does make you look younger though because people always mistake my age. Sucks looking 16 at 24.)
