I kinda disliked Nehemia for lying to and manipulating Caelena right up to and including her death. No matter how good her motives she made her feel like shit for keeping secrets while lying to the face of her “friend” the whole time
I don’t hate her, I wouldn’t even say I dislike her. I wish she would of opened up more to Celaena because it does make it feel as if Celaena was smaller in her eyes. But I understand where she came from and I honestly understand why she did it.
I was SO team Chaol when reading this book! I felt he grew so much just by opening up and actually questioning his loyalties and reasons for doing things compared to the last book. It felt like he finally connects to love instead of blind loyalty and logic. I was so frustrated by Celaenas overreactions when I felt that Nehemia handled things the worst! Team Chaol 🗡
Celaena’s overreaction was a little intense. That part I was kind of iffy about because I feel like her character has grown more maturity then what she showed the night of Nehemia’s death. I definitely have seen Chaol’s growth throughout, I still feel he has a long way to go tho. He needs to stop letting people walk over him. He has a strong wall around him, but once those walls are down I don’t think he has much interior courage and confidence. I hope he can grow further however and I believe/think he will.
I don’t dislike him, but I’m definitely not seeing what everyone else is seeing in him. I think he’s really nice and all, but I just don’t see how he’s swoonworthy. 🤷🏻♀️
@@jennascreativecorner1132 For me he just seems to be a truly kind hearted person which is a rarity. No matter who is father is he sees past that and is able to form his own ideals and opinions without conforming with the rest of his family. I truly respect that in him. So that is why I personally adore him and like him as a character overall.
I know this book is pretty sad in terms of what Caelena goes through, but I feel like the events that happen in this book really help the events in the future books to happen.
Yes, despite how awful what Nehemia did was, she was right in the end : it's what fueled Celeana to do all that follows ! It shows her that she can't run from her past anymore, that her people and the world need her.
Just read Crown of Midnight in 3 hours lmao. I can see why people love Choal and Celeana together, but Dorian is honestly so prefect for her imo. #teamdorian
I just finished this book today and I can I say, I loved it omg. So far my favorite book out of assassins blade and throne to glass! So much happened in this book! I’m still a little sad cause I really like Dorian and I wish him and Celaena were together, buttttttt I can understand how they would work as friends. Sometimes I feel that Chaol tends to work off of impulse but it makes sense why him and Celaena care for one another. I’m soooo excited for Heir of Fire! I need to take everything in that I just learned first, but I’ll probably start it tonight 😂!
I feel like this book is either hated or loved by readers. I was stupidly a Chaol fan and quickly changed my mind while reading. I like your outlook on the character growth on the main three.
I don't think there was anything wrong with being a Chaol fan. I love him and all the characters. Ik lots of people hated him in the later books, but I felt it made sense. The let himself cross the line only to lose who he loved. Aelin trying to kill him broke him, and he grew bitter from the trauma. That's what makes him so human and real. Sorry lol I got carried away 😂
Agreed! ♡ *spoiler fot the series* Though I wasn't mad at Celaena for not fighting for Nehemia's country. I felt Celaena's pain of 'why does it have to be me?' in this book, with all the things she has gone through. It broke my heart to see her struggling to accept who she is, even more than i know what happens in the later books. Loved your booktalk & I can't wait to see your thoughts of the next books❤❤📚
That's very true!! Knowing everything make her actions understandable, I just was so frustrated anyways. Also, like why did it have to be Celaena?? We both know Dorian could've been the one so I'm still pretty confused why they forced it to be her
Brittany Nicole I know! 😭 Especially with that Empire of Storms finale. Every choice that she takes makes me feel so much for her bc of what Maeve does to her in EoS. I just want her to take a break!!❤
With the rings, it could be possible that they are a source of power but are still controlled by the King, not the one wearing them. So like, the King trusts Perrington so he gave him a ring so that he could have access to power, and then maybe the King gave one to Roland to try to get him on their side but when Roland sided with Dorian, maybe the ring was just an easy way to punish him. Kaltain’s headaches never started off bad, they grew worse, while Roland’s started off bad. So maybe Roland wearing the ring made the King able to punish him easier by giving him these headaches while Kaltain might have been getting headaches from being in close proximity to Perrington’s ring. Theory
Dorian is so wonderful because he just let her go. I am reading the whole series for the second time (it's also perfect) and I was wondering if there was an ending where Dorian's father died and Dorlena were real, and she ended up queen, and queen of terrasen too. It would be easier, but it would also be nice
SPOILERS (for this book )ahead !!!! I agree with a lot of the things you said ( except on Chaol : on my first read I was all team Chaol and I didn't understand why she was so harsh on him, on my second read though my problem with him was not that he "just loves Celeana" but on the contrary I understood why she was so mad : he was so loyal to the throne, and so blind that he put Nehemia in danger, and if I recall correctly he didn't have to hide the truth ( but I re-read it a few months ago so I might be wrong ). In my second read I also realized that their relationship was indeed doomed from the start because Chaol never fully understood her. He never accepted her "dark side" : first he denied she had one and then he was horrified by it in the end. He said she was not the same person but it was always a part of her, it was just brought to the surface by Nehemia's death. SPOILERS FOR THE NEXT BOOKS Also, re-reading this, I found that the "let's rescue Chaol" scene is really awefull because now you know that amoung the people she kills there are her own people who are actually fighting for her, so I understand some of the Terrasen lords reactions in the next books. We know she was mad with rage and it's so sad...
In my opinion, Crown of Midnight is the strongest of all the books in the series. I think it built upon and fixed what was wrong in Throne of Glass, and the rest of the books have been very up and down and inconsistent.
Hmm that's an interesting thought!! I agree that it's very good at building on Throne of Glass and evolving the story but maybe I'll notice in my reread the strength of the series
I loved this book, I am about to read Heir of Fire♡ I am Team Dorian all the way, even though I'm sure they aren't going down that path again. Great video
I'm late for this series but I can't wait bcoz I don't like chaol snd caleana relationship and I know, there is another guy name rowen but I finish COM today and I can't able to more from team dorian. Can you please tell me, things will be go better with books. Please tell me without much spoiling. Do you able to move from team dorian?
it gets better! dorian goes thru so much it breaks my heart but it does get better for him, and by the time u reach last few books you will see celena and rowan are great together while dorian finds one great companion as well
I just want to say that I was A L W A Y S team Dorian and literally could not get through this second book because of how much I've always hated Chaol. I've only gotten through the first three books (+ assassins blade) but just for the record, Chaol is still trash thus far lmao
Hailey's Book Nook I don’t understand why everyone hates Chaol so much! I mean, I just finished Crown of Midnight, so maybe he changes throughout the series, but so far I don’t see why everyone hates him?! I’ve been team Chaol the first two books.
Jenna's Creative Corner idk he was just annoying and I shipped her with Dorian so I was just sooooo annoyed that she randomly started hooking up with Chaol! He hasn’t done anything that I’ve seen per say either!
I kinda disliked Nehemia for lying to and manipulating Caelena right up to and including her death. No matter how good her motives she made her feel like shit for keeping secrets while lying to the face of her “friend” the whole time
I can definitely agree with this!! Like as much as I understand where she's coming from, it was still incredibly frustrating
I don’t hate her, I wouldn’t even say I dislike her. I wish she would of opened up more to Celaena because it does make it feel as if Celaena was smaller in her eyes. But I understand where she came from and I honestly understand why she did it.

I feel that! This book wasn't a filler at all, like some second books tend to be. It made a lot of progress for the storyline

Thank goodness you’re Team Dorian!!

*SPOILER* especially since they both have magic
I just finished this book today and I can I say, I loved it omg. So far my favorite book out of assassins blade and throne to glass! So much happened in this book! I am also rereading this series and emotion are just flooding.
Same here!! So many emotions
I have a 20 minute break for work. Guess y'all know what I am doing
Awww thank you 😊
I feel like this book is either hated or loved by readers. I was stupidly a Chaol fan and quickly changed my mind while reading. I like your outlook on the character growth on the main three.
Yeah Crown of Midnight is probaaaaably my least favorite of them all!

so happy for these book talks xx

It'll be up here still when you're ready for it!! 😉
