Nice review! I'm a taller rider as well. Just as an FYI, you can raise the seat a bit so it's more comfortable. You take the front seat off, and there's a little mechanical control that will allow you to raise the seat up.
Because of the longitudinal crankshaft, does the bike rotate on acceleration due to the torque. Either while sitting still in neutral or while riding it? I know this used to be a problem on older BMWs, and I was curious if this effect still exists.
Great video I’ve just ordered one coming from a21 gsa I didn’t think it was much bigger but as a 6ft1’ guy but 29-30” leg it just fits me better even with the higher comfort seat I can still flat foot if ,241\2 k is a hell of a lot of wedge but it has as you say got absolutely everything &being a Beemer will just work faultlessly 🤞🏍🎉🎉👍
wished the self cancelling turn signal didnt take a quarter mile to turn off. After the IMU tells the bike its leaned into the turn a couple of seconds later the signal light should turn off. Other than that i love the 2021 i have.
thank you for such a great review, from South Africa 🇿🇦. I traded my k1600b for this beautiful bike, exact spec, few months back, and I love this bike. It is really a bike that can do everything, and it it does everything very well. Safe riding buddy. Just a correction....those 4 short cut buttons are not programmable, I wish they were, but they not. They come pre-set...1. Auto mute, 2. Heated grip and seat setting, 3. Audio source between radio and media (only works if the bike is fitted with the optional radio, 4. Navigation.
I have the exact same bike and on mine the 4 buttons are programmable. But I did hear rumours that due to problems with chip deliveries it is possible that some bikes are not 'complete' so to speak...
Great review. I like to hear such good things about the bike I recently bought. My 2021 does not have speakers though, but it does have ACC. I agree with other comments that external speakers are worthless. Use ear protection. I would disagree on the handling. This is a superbly great handling bike. You will need to go with a high end sport bike to beat it. I have recorded over 40 degrees on my 2019 and have hit the pegs. (I will not be doing this on my 2021, it is too risky.) I also record 63 degrees once, but I will not elaborate on that incident. It was recorded though. My complaints would be that has a bit of engine noise like harmonic at times, which apparently does not bother me much, and the TFT is a bit tricky when syncing up. The engine is loud from within quite bubble behind the windscreen and sounds like a Cessna taking off on hard acceleration. Best bike ever in my book.
I bought a 2021 Goldwing DCT, having come off of a 2015 BMW r1200RT. I made a HUGE mistake not going with the new BMW 1250. The GW is the most gear-whining and driveline-lurched motorcycle I've ever owned. I went with the DCT to help resolve issues with my left hand (many surgeries). However, I fully regret having bought the Honda due to NOISE and high-pitched whine issues, at ALL speeds. A major disappointment. Honda clearly is aiming the new generation GW to the sport rider, NOT the touring rider. GLTA.
Interesting review. As an owner I guess your test bike came from BMW, so all set up. The thing is, great as the bee is, the app and tft tech is patchy at best, completely unreliable and prone to drop outs, stops working for no reason and just does not do what it is supposed to do. BMW either can’t or won’t address the issues and many of us who handed over a lot of cash for the LE are very frustrated
How is your experience after the recent software update? You are absolutely right. All the reviews I've seen never mention the crappy connection of the TFT display with your phone.
@@Luc_Motor4youNL Not great Luc. I did my first big ride on Sunday and the map and after I stopped for gas the map froze and I had to stop, close everything and restart it. I know I can program the buttons but I don't know how, so overall, not impressed. BMW say there is another update coming in December that should solve the map freezing issue but I am reaching the point I don't care anymore, and i am losing trust in the bike.
@@HighlandRider Thanks for you respons! The RT is a fantastic bike but I fully understand that this issue makes you lose trust in this RT!! So for now I stick by my R1200RT LC. I do hope the December update will be an improvement.
@@Luc_Motor4youNL It is a fantastic bike and I rode 250 miles (400k) on Sunday and loved the ride and handling, just being constantly let down by the tech is wearing thin. Other manufacturers are now offering TFT with built in sat nav so options are becoming more available.
@@HighlandRider I never understood why BMW chose for this app / smartphone combination. Hopefully they will change their mind on this.........someday. I've heard (and seen) people who mount the good old Garmin or BMW Navigator on this bike. BMW motorrad should be ashamed of itself for that.

@@Bigbaloo63 Yep, programmable on mine too, however I'm missing Adaptive Cruise and Radio due to "chip shortages". Will get fitted when available.
