- Pop duo Boys Club performing their hit "The Loneliest Heart" on the Mickey Mouse Club, circa 1988. The group is also interviewed afterwards. The members of the group were Joe Pasquale and Gene Hunt. Gene had originally been known as Eugene Wolfgramm and was part of the '80s sibling pop group The Jets. I captured this video from my own VHS-recorded copy of the broadcast from back in the day. :) For the higher quality video and audio version, add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL.
Rest In Peace Eugene Wolfgramm 😔😔
I did not know about Eugene passing till you mentioned it. That's just so sad. I was a huge fan of The Jets back in the day, so this is a very hard pill to swallow. 😞
I tried to find some videos of this band but its so difficult. I think they were a very good band. thank you to upload this.
RIP Eugene. Thank you for your music!
'Tell me WHYYYYY did you write this letter, just when I thought things were GETTING BETTTTEEERRRRRR'
Fuck a grammy, these guys both deserved Oscars for this here performance. It has made my day.
Rest in peace, Eugene. Will be missed.
Aw all those little girls smiling, so sweet. And me too
Bring back the days!!!!!
OMG, I can't believe this is on here!
Not only did I love the Boys Club (Joe!)
I also taped it off the Disney Channel during the glory days of the New Mickey Mouse Club (I was crazy in love with this show!!) .
Rest in Paradise Gene my heart breaks for you and your aiga. Fafatai Lava Uso
Everything about this segment makes me smile. Thank you so much for sharing!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Excellent! Thank you!😊
The two Coreys wished they were this cool!
A flashback for me. I remember this as though I had watched it yesterday. How amazing that you kept so many different recordings. I wish I had done that! I think of seeing The Jets in concert and of watching The Jets in Hawaii. I remembered Eugene was wearing that Batman shirt!
I am a boy and I cried after watching this.
i found this 45 vinyl today and this might be my new favorite song. as a 17 year old, new music is just not as good. i love this band and the 80s overall😎
For someone as young as you are, truer words have never been spoken. I hope you continue to have great taste in music. 👍
Gene Hunt is actually Eugene Wolfgramm of The Jets, they were huge in the mid 80's. I believe The Jets were Tongan. Tonga is a South Pacific Island.
His Birth name was Eugene Hunt he was Adopted by The Wolf grams him and Eddie
OMG!! Im looking for this song for maybe 10 years now, nowhere to be found in stores, and i finally found it here!!! if anyone has a better copy let me know!
The fashion of these hairs could be back!!!!!
thank you for the video clip! Good 80's song :-)
came over here from UNSUNG the JETS.. WHY Eugene
Why did this make you cry? Were you a big fan of them and/or The Jets back in the day?
You still here? I have the whole CD.
8 days a week man. 8 days... a WEEK.
now if they could find the video of The Jets doing You've Got Another Boyfriend and put it on here. I remember seeing that one on this show right before it went off the air.
Not to be mean, but I can't believe Gene left The Jets for THIS.
Joe Pasquale commented on another video, something to the effect of this was some record company honco's idea and he was not a big fan of it either....
@@kpz1234 didn't have much of a choice after being kicked out.
Chris Q why was he kicked out of the Jets?
right....
I swear to God I watched this interview not realizing it was a kid's show to the very end!!!!😱
Pasquale was really cute but more of a song writer and arranger. The group should've been focused around Gene because he had a little more stage presence and was coming off The Jets.
😄 funny , not bad. 😉 ❤
he was also born on the western Tanga Islantd, near new Sealand
He was actually born in Western Samoa.
This guy had a good voice just disappeared
Gene seems to have a great personality, but I'm guessing he left because he believed his own hype as the pretty boy of the group and thought he could make it as part of a duo.
hes from the city of Apia, western islands tango nea New Zealand
The lead lip syncer was super cute. Gene Wolfgram was a major cutie but hed been better off to stay with The Jets
Although there's pre-recorded background vocals that Gene is singing along with, they, themselves, aren't lip syncing here. It's quite obvious, especially after the music fades out and they're still singing.
This is like the worst-case scenario Wham, lol.
Mark Flanigan Kind of ironic you said that. Leroy Wolfgramm, who is one Gene's brothers (Gene is the lighter-haired guy), said in an interview one time, when the band was just starting, that they're like Minneapolis' version of Wham!
Their performing in front of little kids??? That don't seem right?
These lads were very talented, a actually had the CD. But, uh, this video of this performance is so wrong. Singing this song to a pre-pubesnt crowd? This is probably why they didn't get so far. Their handlers should've pushed them to an audience of guys whose nuts already dropped and girls with more than rasins on their chest.
There was a significant change in the music business. A lot groups that formed at end of the 80s missed their shot. A lot of major groups has issue transitioning or evolving their sound to appeal to a new generation.
