80s music is the absolute BEST sound EVER! Just my opinion, as a keyboardist. The digital pianos, pads, layered strings, vocorder tracks, and wonderful story songs. Just the greatest sounds, and textures in music. So easy to get lost in imagery listening to these songs through headphones.
yeah I don't think anyone can argue that the 80s by far had the best sounds. but I like more natural sounding music from the 60s and before. But 80s music is so addicitive. if I felt like it, I can listen to 80s music all day long without getting bored and maybe 2000s rock music.

Peter Frampton discusses this song a bit in his autobiography. He basically said he wasn't crazy about this remake of his classic song when he heard it, but it made him half a million dollars when he really needed the money, so he was grateful to Will to Power for that.

April 2024 here. I was just starting out in high school when this came out - so of course it is burned into my memory because the 80s were a great time to be alive, whether child or adult, or somewhere in-between like I was. I did not know at the time that this was a remake but who cares - the song's great, this rendition is great and the 80s themselves were great when it came to experiencing music and life.
I was like 11 years old and I would go to sleep with the radio on....woke up in the middle of the night to it the first time I heard it....made a strange, deep permanent, and strongly positive imprint on me. Felt like I woke up understanding love or something. Crazy.

I prefer the Big Mountain one, has a deeper feel, more earthy. Listen to that one and you'll see what I mean. This one is kind of stilted. Funny, first time I heard it on the radio, thought it was sung by coloured people.

April 2024 here. I was just starting out in high school when this came out - so of course it is burned into my memory because the 80s were a great time to be alive, whether child or adult, or somewhere in-between like I was. I did not know at the time that this was a remake but who cares - the song's great, this rendition is great and the 80s themselves were great when it came to experiencing music and life.
I was like 11 years old and I would go to sleep with the radio on....woke up in the middle of the night to it the first time I heard it....made a strange, deep permanent, and strongly positive imprint on me. Felt like I woke up understanding love or something. Crazy.

I prefer the Big Mountain one, has a deeper feel, more earthy. Listen to that one and you'll see what I mean. This one is kind of stilted. Funny, first time I heard it on the radio, thought it was sung by coloured people.
