Well, I don't know which rock I've been living under, because I've never heard of your Red Arrows. I love jets and planes, too. I recently started working as a civilian for the US Navy at an air base and watching the jets fly over never gets old. It's remarkable. Wishing you all the best for a speedy and full recovery from your surgery. I'll be back, because you and your videos are delightful!

Here in America we have just celebrated Independence Day and our colors being red, white and blue..... this could have been our Navy flight team, the Blue Angels... doing a similar performance. It was spectacular, thanks for sharing.

Ha ha that is so funny Cindy! I wish I was like my Mum who is ambidextrous. I have broken my arm three times but my left, never my right so I have no idea what it will be like.

By coincidence I was golfing on vacation when the Blue Angels were practicing above our heads for a show. They flew over us about 10 times. Amazing!

I'll be here listening to whatever you have in your vlog. If you can't sew or move your arm for a bit don't forget you have lots of expertise you could pass on just by talking or showing us a technique from a previous garment. I'm always game to learn something new or just listening to whatever you're up to. I have a hard time taking time to sew in the summer. It's so short I hate to miss it. I loved the plane show at the end. Wow, what fantastic photos! I'm sure they could win a contest. Again, good luck and best wishes 💪.

I wish you the very best with your operation and remember, lots of extra protein helps your body and bones to heal. Your linen pants look lovely and so much more elegant than the pair I made in double gauze. And you sold me on the shorts as well! I too love airplanes, all types. I was in the U.S. Air Force and had the opportunity to be aboard a few different ones.I love watching our Air Force Thunderbirds and the Navy's Blue Angels. Thanks so much for sharing! 🤞 surgery and recovery goes smoothly I will definitely watch whatever you manage to post. I love your linen pants and shorts. I was paddling my kayak at our reservoir which is near our local airport when the Canadian Snowbirds few their practice runs over me last summer. It is so exciting!

I saw the Blue Angels one time, and it was unlike anything I had ever seen. I can imagine your excitement because it is definitely something to see up close.

Linen is lovely, isn't it! I, too, love airplanes and when I lived in Cheyenne watching the Thunderbirds at the Frontier Days airshow was always at the top of my list!! Lovely makes! Good for you hemming Dad’s pants. It made me remember that I have some repairs my husband asked me to do, and I need to get on them. Mending isn’t the most fun, but it is satisfying. Best wishes on your surgery. I can imagine that it is scary, but they know what you need and by following their recovery instructions, you will be good as new, before you know it. I used to use hem binding on all my hems. I loved it. I kind of got away from it for a while when sewing went by the wayside a bit in my 40's and 50's, and when I started up again I forgot how much I liked using it. I'm glad you mentioned it. I used to hand hem everything back then and it gave a nice sturdy, finished edge to sew into. I've been using my sewing machine to hem this time around, but the hand hemming gives a much nicer finish. I think I might go back to using it, now that you mention it. I do think the weight is likely why they used it in those trousers. It helped in floaty skirts and dresses the same way.
I have to say, having that binding on the hem did make the trousers hang much better than they would have done without it, not surprised you used it. I do prefer hand hemming rather than blind hemming on the machine as I think it is less noticeable but I just wanted to do the most professional job for my Father. I thought of you when I made up 8841, it really is the best trouser pattern isn't it? I just love that linen fabric and I don't care if I look wrinkled, it matches my skin 🤣🤣. What I forgot to say about watching those Red Arrows is that we were parked illegally as well so the police would have had a party with us all! Carol, sending prayers for success with your surgery and healing. I live not too far from our smaller local airport. When the Snowbirds come into town for a performance, they fly, in formation, over my apartment. I get a great view from my 3rd floor balcony. I agree. Planes are cool. By the way, invisible zippers can be inserted without a special foot. Sometimes with better results. Again, all the best! 🛫 Bernadette

You get the best view by the sounds of it, how wonderful to see these planes in action. I did try and do the invisible zipper without the foot but it wasn't close enough for me so unpicked it all! The proper foot is on order now so I expect far better results 😆. Thanks again 🧵😊

Wow that fly over gave me goose bumps and I was not even there. All the very best I have had an elbow op it was painful so keep up the meds every 4 hours for the first few days and some good quality vita C and D definitely for healing. You will be sewing in no time.

I think that's why I always loved working in an airport - people coming and going and I was always curious where and why. I bet you're always one of those people on the plane who's a pleasure to chat with - I'd do that with you anytime!
You were busy indeed - I wish I could get all those pants you make look that good on me, it's just my own pickiness and fit and overthinking. Katie's bag is so pretty! You absolutely must make one for yourself. The t-shirt looks great on you and matches perfect with that divine linen. Makes me want to order some. We certainly have to visit Andrea when Trish and I come (eventually). That color is gorgeous.
I will be praying for your arm, am praying for your arm, so no worries, God's got this! He's got you! No need to be nervous, you are right there in the palm of His hand. It'll be time for some hand sewing, slow sewing, maybe even some EPP? Easy things that won't take 2 hands or arms and will give you time to recover from anesthsia. Ah, life with no pain! I am still so envious you worked in an airport! That linen was just a dream to work with and probably the best I have ever bought, it did help to actually see it in person. I don't know much about fitting trousers other than taking seams in or out etc so maybe because you are a far more skilled seamstress you look for a more perfect fit, .i.e. you know when things are wrong 🤣.

I looked up the Blue Angels today on UA-cam and they are really awesome. They are different to the Red Arrows in that their planes are bigger and are famed for flying close together rather than ours that do 'displays'. How wonderful you used to see them in SF, maybe one day on my visits to the US I will see them too 👏🏼✈️. Thanks for watching 🧵😊

Oh, Carole, you remind me so much of my deceased hubby. He, too, absolutely adored planes. When we went on a trip he always had to have the window seat and though he grew to be clearly an elderly age before he died, he always was like a little boy with excitement. He’d point out different plans and tell me what type they were. Such a wonderful memory. Thank you!

I, too, have to have rotator cuff surgery in August and I’m already distressed about all the things I will not be able to do and quite anxious about the procedure, as well. Oh dear, I really do sound like him as I ALWAYS demand the window seat! I am fascinated by planes and get hypnotised by watching them fly over, my son is the same as me but he can tell straight away what they are even if they are 1000s of miles up. Hi Deb! Op all done thank goodness and now recovering and being able to do very little which is SO frustrating 🤣. I tried to sew some squares of fabric together yesterday which was so much effort I gave up! I am going to film today as I did do some sewing before so at least I have something planned today 😅. Now off to see what you've been sewing as I notice your video pop up. I'm living through you all right now xx

Carole: I do pray for your surgery going super well and healing is very fast. I will stick with you with whatever you put out for a video. Be assured of that. I do sooooooooooooo love the fabric of the top you are wearing in this video. Your recent makes are lovely and it is wonderful that it all coordinates! I had cataract surgery in May and I was very worried about it too but all went very well and I am sure all will go well for you and you can be pain free. We all deserve that for sure.

I am so glad to hear your cataract surgery went well, I hear such good things about that, my Mum had both eyes done last year and her eyesight is brilliant now! As you say, I am sure I am over worrying however there isn't a great success rate with this procedure but I am trying to remain positive.

Hi Carole. Love your linen makes, both colours are fantastic. Shame you didn’t get on with the t-shirt pattern but that’s just how it goes sometimes. Wishing you all the best for your operation and that you make a speedy recovery. We will still be here whether you put content out or take a few weeks off to recover, although I do understand the boredom factor which will probably propel you to be sewing and vlog making. I used to love seeing the red arrows when I was a little girl. I can remember being at St Anne’s on Sea one year at the hotel we were stating at and they flew over. Oh the noise and the unexpected excitement. Happy days.

Good luck Carole, hope all goes well. I used to live right on the seafront in Leigh on Sea and the Southend Air Show always had the Red Arrows, amongst other wonderful planes, fly right over our apartment which was the top of the building. The noise was so loud but the feeling of the movement was wonderful. Best wishes
Aren't the Red Arrows just wonderful and how marvellous they used to fly over your apartment! Bournemouth Air Show always used to have them as well but sadly not this year and the show is now under jeopardy for future years, such a shame. I am British and so we hate to complain about anything, it was really hard for me to talk about my arm on camera 🤣 but I thought if I just disappeared and showed up again with a huge bandaged arm people would be worried!
