So glad you took the knob of the birds head . A beautiful painting thank you for sharing this with us
Beautiful bird painting! Thankyou for removing the blob off of the top of the birds head… You are an incredibly awesome artist! And I love how you chat as you paint!
Always love when you paint birds. Thanks Lindsay.
Watched this one again, Lindsay…Must admit, I love the purity of just watercolor… so relaxing to watch!!
OMG OMG OMG! FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I ACTUALLY FOLLOW A WC TUTORIAL!!!!!
It looks NOTHING like yours but girl... this was SOOOO FUN!!!! 😃😃😃😃😃😃🥰
Yay!
Love quick loose tutorials. Those paints really are lovely. This would be pretty on a greeting card.
Painted along and loved how it turned out. Thank you Lindsay!!
Beautiful! Very colorful. I really enjoy and appreciate these short tutorials. Hope others do, too.
Love the rough texture, love the versatility of a large cat tongue brush, and I can’t wait for your brush launch. 🖌🎨 🤟
Me too. I have enough brushes but when I use Lindsay’s I’ll be talking to them asking for advice. 😀 maybe it’ll work.
😆 they will be available soon!
Amazing how that bird just appeared. Wonderful as always.
I really enjoy watching you paint, you’re amazing artist, I like how you talk to us while you’re doing it, make us feel like we’re sitting beside you and you’re teaching us how to paint, you’re amazing artist an amazing teacher

Ooohjhh this one came out so good. I want to do this tutorial. Must go find some paper and paint! Lovely work L~!
Lovely, lovely bird!!
Painted with you tonight. Just what I needed to get into watercolouring again. Thanks for a fun tutorial Lindsay!
You make it look so easy! Love the colors in your little bird. 🙂
This style of watercolor kinda makes sense to me.... thank you for demoing it I have to try it now!!
So simple and beautiful! 😮🤯
Wow! Now that's what I call painting, every stroke purposeful.
But don't mind me.
Thank you Lindsay , this was fun and I enjoy watching your process xoxo
Just looked on Amazon at the paints. As I scrolled right, saw a swatch sample with the black line through it and thought oh, thats what Lindsay does. Then saw your name on the bottom of the cherry blossom painting. Very nice
Oh my, how perfect!!! I just got Mr. John Muir Laws bird drawing book!!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing as always. It will never seize to amaze me how natural this comes to you and how you have such a gift of being able to tell us the information you do all while painting! You are definitely a woman of many talents and deserve everything your heart desires ♥️
Thank you:)
Really enjoy watching you paint this birdie. I should give it a try. I love your watercolor color tutorials. I always seem to go right to painting flowers but loved your detailing this pretty bird.
I absolutely love this
What a cutie. TFS.❤
So pretty. Just love it.
love it! i have often wondered if you always sketch with pencil first, and now i know! just wanted to also say, i love the birds both ways- the end result with the little color “tuft “ over his head whited out, but also pre-whited out, as it was a fanciful, eclectic, almost fantasy element in an otherwise realistic painting that i also loved!
You are an amazing Artist. Love all your paintings. I might have to order some of the watercolor paper. Thanks Lindsay!
I think this is lovely, well done.
That is so pretty! Thank you for sharing
Lovely painting!
Hummingbirds nest around my house and for the past couple weeks beautiful Hooded Orioles have been hanging out near the Hummingbirds. I really hope the Orioles mean no harm, but it is strange..... Anyway I have been painting the Orioles and when you started painting your bird it looked so much like them, but morphed into another bird, just as pretty. I have had a lot going on but it was really nice to paint with you again.
This is so pretty! I really enjoyed it!
It’s cheerful!
Hello Lindsay. Love this bird painting (I love all things birds) Also really like the rough texture of the paper.😊
It's fun and pretty affordable!
Thanks Lindsay. Looks like a fair bit of flow on that paper where it was wet. Only three strokes in and it already looked like a bird! 🤩
Lovely xx
Love your sweet bird! Thanks Lindsay!
Love it! Birds are one of my favorite subjects. ❤️
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you! 😊
I really enjoyed watching you paint the bird. I wasn't sure about it after you used water to loosen it up but, wow, I really love how you detailed it and how it turned out!! ❤️❤️
You make it look so easy! Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing 😊
I received my brushes! Haven’t opened them yet, will keep that as a treat for when I need one. I got them partly to support you and partly because there are types of brushes and sizes that I want.
Thank you!
Love this!
Great thanks! I am painting along with this tutorial and loving it :)
Beautiful artwork Lindsay ❤
Hullo Lindsay! I do enjoy your painting demonstrations. Seeing you paint with these Chinese Paul Rubens pains makes me wonder about the Art Whale water colors, have you made a pallet of them? Do you use them very much? I guess I would like to see you do an update video on how they’re working or drying or if you’re even bothering to use them? Thank you again for all of your amazing videos sharing your knowledge is a true gift to all of your viewers, thank you.
They tried down fine but I haven't used them latelt
Thank you!
Tip of the brush press and lift. Practice saying it now might help my leaves. You could have stopped just after the leaves and it would still have been great. Minimalist style. 👍
♥️♥️♥️
That papers textureooked intimidating to me.
Texture. I really do know how to spell
It's really inexpensive. I got a pack of 100 sheets for $25 at a local shop. You can use it freely at that price. It's 100% cotton too!
Hello Lindsay, When will your signature watercolor brush set go on sale and where? Thanks so much and have a wonderful day!
You can find them here- www.craftamo.com/products/lindsay-weirich-x-craftamo
@@krystinsawyer The status has posted as coming soon for several weeks; many of us are curious and look forward to the launch!
Any day! Im waiting for my final set which has been mailed. I can't believe how long it has taken!
Thank you so much everyone for the information. It will be worth the wait Lindsay! Lol! Looking forward to seeing them.
Boy, 1 day after this painting on the paper you mentioned (5X7 w/either 50 or 100 sheets) it's already gone. Sheesh! I did buy some cotton paper by Shizan anyway. It was rough cotton 50 for ~20 bucks. I'm a little confused as isn't that what you mentioned? Mmmmmm...I'm anxious to try it anyway and if you got 100 sheets for the same price, then I lost. Boohoo. Still sounds like decent enough paper. I have several watercolor sets that were all made in China, so I will remember not to get my paints too wet. Also I have a nice White Knights set that I've heard is pretty opaque.
I admire your skills of starting your bird right in with paint. Your tips are invaluable to me too. I was cringing a bit as you kept adding to your bird worried it would get ruined. Oh no! I am an avid bird watcher for at least 40 years. When you first did your eye I had to look hard to find the eyeball (in fact I think you snuck one in off camera), cause then I saw a little black eye. Then you made a white circle around the black ball. I thought it looked great. Many many birds have a white eye circle. It is a distinguishing facial difference from many other species. I didn't think it looked funny at all. Nor did I think the beak looked like it should be bigger. If you had left the eye and the beak at those points, I think you would have one terrific bird. As it turned out, your bird managed to look pretty cool. Once you either made the little blob on his/her head cute plumage or just disappear, it would make it all look complete. Somehow (your many years of experience?) you always manage to tweak whatever little areas you want to your satisfaction, and your paintings invariably come out great as this one did. It does seem as though this very loose painting of a bird came out a detailed bird in the end. Great tutorial, Lindsay.XOXOJane Thank you. I love you and your channel best of all.
You paper might be a larger size
looks like wallpaper and a stiffner :P
lovely brush work. So these were your new brushes? when will they come out?
They will be out soon. Hopefully in the next week or so. The boxes have arrived at the factory in the UK and my set is on its way to me know with the printing on them!
Can you use the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor on paper with less sizing (mixed media, thick cardstock, Canson XL/nom-cotton watercolor) since they are more opaque and move our less so less water would really in less piling of the paper?
Have you ever tried to make your own paper? I think about this a lot because most of my recycling is paper. I think if I exclude the glossy paper, I might be able to create something, not necessarily a white paper, maybe tan or grey. What are your thoughts?
I have!
Maybe I missed it, but are these granulating watercolors? I think you said they are your Chinese paints but the colors have a beautiful textured look- especially the tail feathers! How did you do this??
It's the shizen handmade watercolor paper. Very affordable too!
I made a gel plate does it have to be stored in the fridge
Yes unless it contains glycerin

Thank you!
I love painting birds. I'm a total bird myself. Just a fun fyi..... a bird's butt is called a "vent" 😆 🤣 😂 stay away from that vent! It doesn't blow cold air.... lol
Thanks for this, . I might have to at least try it. Looks kinda fun...🕶 SO glad you fixed his head. Did not like that. Lol.
I got an email from a uk shop about Cotman metallic. 8 pan set but the swatch looked like 3 white 2 orange so not distinctive enough to tempt me. Whew some money not spent💷
I saw that. They look kinda lame compared to the competition out now.
I love Shizen paper . It almost smells like a wet dog . The Amazon link shows unavailable.
This bird is beautiful. He would be cat food around here, though. Glad he lives in art and not real life here.
