People that didn't play Uncharted 2 at release don't understand how mind blowing it was at the time. The graphics were so far ahead of anything else at the time and the cinematic gameplay and set pieces set a new standard that has now been imitated many times over by other games.
49mozzer Sure, emergent gameplay is fun but it doesn't have the same spectacle as big, well scripted set pieces. Why not have both. Best of both worlds ;)
+evirobtion The main reason I need a PS3...and a 4.
+evirobtion i didn't on release cause i didn't have a ps3 back then but like early 2014 that was too intense felt awesome afterwards indeed a satisfying game and yes drake you were crying and it was sunny outside
Uncharted 3 was my first console game outside of Nintendo. Imagine how I felt.
Man, I didn't play it on PS3. Played it first time on PS4 and I still think it was amazing
Uncharted 2 train section was truly jaw-dropping.
When I first played it, I stopped about 5 minutes in when I noticed the scenery wasn't repeating. I stood there for a good 5 minutes just watching to see if I'd see the same thing, and I didn't. Unbelievable and amazing set-piece.
xenteko yea-IKR
I... I read books.
Good! Books are great and I'm an idiot -Rob
***** Rob i love you lol xD
Me too!
+Dr. Lemons Is he ever not? I don't even have a playstation (well, a used PSP but I doubt that counts) I just watch this entirely for the snark.
It's like the Material Defender all over again.
+SuperDaniel354 Books? You mean those ingame text things that are about two pages long, right?
I love Rob
I got Robbed lol :D
DoubleJumpa I love Uncharted.
Rob. i literally LIVE TO SEE FRIDAYS because of your Friday features. and theres no greater compliment than that.
You've given a whole new meaning to TGIF.
Thank you! Hope you enjoy today's video later on :) -Rob
+Marcus King and you're a bitch
+That Illuminati Guy k
Sames
Moses Njoku I've never agreed with someone more
The real bike chase... "ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN CJ"
You can´t say "amazing action setpiece" without following with "Uncharted" =)
The tank bit and truck chase scene in Uncharted 2. Still amazes me.
i just finished that part of the game it is pretty awesome
What about the boat sinking in uncharted 3. Awesome. 😀
+Andymanaman Try Uncharted 4.
Samuel Samuel I've literally just finished it. All i can say is...WOW! What a series. Played the multiplayer for the first time today as well, Pretty fun!
Which truck chase?
The one of Drake shooting the truck and it explodes or the one with a massive convoy finding Shambala?
rob and his water....
Rob Water? :D
That water rob'd me rhe right way😂
Most dedicated henchman lol
4:20 "Dicking about" my new favorite British term.
austin thompson Yes, I'm quite fond of that one myself.
Star General Ah yes, of course.
Four twentyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ooooyyyy oiiiiiiiiiii weeeeyyyyyy
that train section in Uncharted 2 is so amazing, one of best memories in gaming..
Hey rob. How does it feel that uncharted 1-3 is coming out on ps4. My reaction is not omg but much more terrifying I make my uncharted games for the PS3 look like they aren't in the level. I almost cried when I saw the trailer.
Playstation is truly the best place to play.
"Set your faces to bluuuuuuuurrr" haha damnit Rob, you should put a disclaimer at the start of every video reminding us not to eat and watch these videos at the same time. I'm getting sick of cleaning food off of my monitor...
Uncharted 2 was epic, and still is!
One of the best games ever
Excellent channel! I love the humour.
I like the part in killzone shadow fall where your diving through clasping buildings
look at uncharted 2 and it's beautiful graphics, they're brilliant even today! and like Rob said, just IMAGINE how Uncharted 4 will look on the ps4!!! OUTSTANDING
The sinking ship in Uncharted 3 wouldnt have been a bad choice either
First! And rob your so funny!
When the Nathan Drake Collection comes out, you guys should do a video on the most jaw-dropping uncharted moments/beautiful set pieces
There scene in Dead Space 2, when you been captured by the women and her group. Then you will attacked by a vehicle then you will face the giant monster.
I want to go back and play the first 3 uncharted's but I'm not sure if I should just wait for 4?
Play them if you have a PS3, they are fairly cheap now
Jose Pasillas Okay thanks
If you haven't played Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the Vita, you really should - it's one of the best looking games on the system and a really good addition to Uncharted series at that :) .
Go Play uncharted man do not even ask that game is GOLD.
I wouldn't be surprised if an Uncharted collection came to PS4 remastered before Uncharted 4 released. At least I'm hoping on this.
AC4: The last AC game that was actually worth buying.
So true
+Dean444ful it sucks.
Nikhil Shende your face sucks.
Dean444ful nice. That really wounded me. Black flag is really bad tho.
Nikhil Shende Good. I hope my comment stays with you forever. I pray it keeps you up at night and that you're eternally tormented by a random internet stranger's half-assed, unoriginal insult. Black Flag has a lot of exploration and some kickass naval battles tho.
Uncharted is just the best game that sets up scene
My favourite set-piece is the fight with Posiden(however that's spelt..) in GOWIII, according to the 'making of', it took them 6 months just to make this 15-20 min chunk of gameplay, and it was WELL worth it IMO!
You could make this list out of God Of War III set pieces & it would be totally valid lol :P
same with uncharted
The bridge collapsing set piece from Vanquish was awesome. I also really enjoyed the Colossus of Rodes from GoW2 and Poseidon from GoW3.
Love your videos :) great sense of humour, unfortunately I can track the chronological order of them through your hair line (sorry Rob) but they are are fantastic :)
They listed all the set pieces I thought they would!! The train sequence in UC2 is no question my #1 too! :)
Man I can't wait for Uncharted 4. Just my goodness...
again i say, dead space had some amazing sci fi outer space set pieces especially the spacewalk segments of the third game
Another great video!!! Keep up the great work guys
Love : Haitham ^~^
friday should be every day
Dr. Pepper, nectar of the gods!
you sire.. are the man. FF7 for the win. you got you're games on right. geeessshhhh.
What about the "Minor Turbulence" mission from GTA 5?
I guess PS Access crew is not so much in to "Asura's Wrath"?
In Tomb Raider 2013 the whole piece where your in the plane and it crashes into the tree and you lay on the glass as its breaking reaching for the parachute then u gotta chute thru the trees and dodge the rocks and branches in the water down the waterfall was one of the best sequences in any game ever!!!
Black Flag and Final Fantasy vii isn't exclusive. I also disagree, that scene for me want even the best scene in Tomb Raider. Best scene is when you climbed up the tower. Not much gameplay involved but it was the scene that showed, to me at least, that Tomb Raider is back in business and is ready to compete with the likes of Uncharted.
your right they weren't exclusive, ::edited the post:: I wasn't fully paying attention before.... I was talking more in terms of heart pounding OMG moments with that scene tho cause its one thing after another till you finally smash into the ground at the end.
Sir Gildo yes ff V|| was ps1 exclusive due of nintendo using cartouches still back and the list have nothing to do with exclusives.
psyrakan Except it's on PC. And it wasn't released just recently too. I remember back in the early 2000s playing FF VII, VIII, and IX all on my friend's PC. My copy was on PS1 though, but it's still on PC thus it isn't exclusive.
Sir Gildo you right they port ps1 version on pc like konami did with mgs my bad.....
absolutely loved the uncharted 3 plane scene. so good!
i don't know why but i laughed more than i should at 4:40
The fight between Bayonetta and Father Balder in Bayonetta. Probably the most insane, over the top and fun boss battle of all time.
when that uncharted 2 music started playing
While it wasn't amazing, the bike chase I enjoyed was the one in Tomb Raider Legend in the snow with the train. A bike chase with shooting, chasing a train then a QTE on top of the train and best of all, LARA CROFT! What more do you need?!
Bland driving and QTEs does not a good moment make.
I'm surprised you don't mention the cruise ship from uncharted 3 that was pretty fun to play as well.
Damn... I remember this chase in FF7 - i remember all in this game! I played this game 18 hours straight. I love this game. If im gonna go on island with only one game it would be FF7.
I swear he should be call "God of shouting " lol
some parts in uncharted 3 really annoy me, but for the most part it was a great game. altho i i would say uncharted 1 and 2 are more fun to play. drakes fortune is such a classic and among thieves really draws you in.
The Tomb raider (2013) would have deserved a spot....
The plane crash was my favourite
Jesus Christ, I love Uncharted.
(Spoilers) Uncharted 2's greatest moments: Run away from an ancient temple on a collapsing bridge after killing a psychopathic war criminal. The level "Convoy" Where you jump from truck to truck and them blowing up stuff with a grenade launcher. Running on a train with even MORE war criminals and blowing up a helicopter. THE INTRO.
Ah, gotta love set pieces. Uncharted has many that I loved, such as the opening to Uncharted 2... wow. Another I always enjoyed was the Chapter 5 Boss of Resistance 2. Yes, it wasn't very challenging, but I certainly found it to be epic. Or how about the chase in Outlast? Which one? The big one. The one that leads you to Trager. My heart was pounding during that chase the first time I played it. I got through it with only 1 mistake too. ... Yup, as much as I love freedom based open world gameplay, I just love epic set pieces too. Sometimes they can even be combined. Anyone remember a mission in GTA Vice City where you're driving the band 'Love Fist' and find you have a bomb on the car? Taking a leaf from Speed's book, you have to stay above 50mph to stop it detonating. Driv3r had a similar mission too.
I despise uncharted. I got the ps4 Nathan Drake collection and after playing all 3 I despised it more than any other franchise by far. the gun play is so damn bad and OH LOOK ANOTHER GRENADE every four seconds while I'm running from rpgs snipers and ak's woooohooo!!!! So annoying. infamous deserves a lot more light than these games. sure uncharted has nice funny characters but the gameplay is abysmal
Favorite action set piece: Killzone 2's A.A. gun battle, flying starports with massive guns taking on insect-like waves of enraged Helghast flyers ending in a beautifully rendered scene with explosions, giant ships falling into orbit, and your own death-defying escape pod jump when all else fails....... 1 word EPIC!
Lara escaping the crashing plane in Tomb Raider 2013.
Helicopter gunship encounter in the opening level of Battlefield 4.
And I know it was a couple months after this video was made, but the Nigerian freeway chase in COD: Advanced Warfare.
Did you guys forget the ENTIRETY of motor storm apocalypse!?! That game has you driving on a bloody collapsing bridge, on top of falling buildings and trough a crumbling city REAL TIME!!
5 years since Uncharted 2 was released!?!? Time really does fly.
Indeed the train sequence in Uncharted 2 was epic, and very difficult in comparison to the rest of the game. I spent hours and hours on that. And the graphics were just amazing! When I saw Uncharted 1 I thought that nothing could beat that beauty if landscape around. I was so wrong :) But Uncharted 3 didn't make such impression on me - both in graphics and story - it was very good game, but I didn't want to play it again just after finishing for the first time, like it was with Uncharted 2.
what about gta 5 cargo plane mission
mxjm mxjm tru
cod gamer 11 when you play a mission in any game that involves a train or cargo plane your in for a treat
Every Friday it's so nice to see the video you've got in my sub box always so good. :)
I remember my cousin played these God of War games and I never was interested till now. I wonder if they'll have one for ps4 or how's the game series nowadays? Now it looks bloody playable in my eyes. Uncharted 4, oh boy still a year but it'll be all worth it and more.
Don't stop mentioning METAL GEAR ROB!!!!! It's one of reasons I watch every video on this channel posted!! From one hardcore Metal Gear fan to another I say, you're pretty good. Lol :)
One game I would just kill to have on PS4 would be a reinvented version of 'The Matrix" where you create your own "The One" aka Neo set in a huge free roam open world and start of as a geeky nerd and work your way to ultimate godliness. I don't know why there hasn't been anything since ps2 for the matrix but could be that its big selling point is being able to slow down time like dodging bullets and I guess that would be near impossible to implement in a multiplayer setting. It would be a awesome game but can really only be done well for solo campaign unless they figure a way to keep bullet time in a multiplayer/online co op game. for example if you slow down time to dodge a bullet would everyone in the same game/server slow down? its a hard one to come up with a solution and still keep what make the matrix great. Get on it game dev's : )
When I saw GOW3 on the list I thought the vid was going to mention the Poseidon battle. And the BioShock Infinite section was going to be the final epic zepellin fight. Those are the "big fights" that spring to my mind when I think of these games. Regardless, great list again Rob. Cheers from Brazil.
One of the best sequences of the past generation would definitely when Trevor (GTA V) chased a crashing airplane halfway across the map in a dirt bike over many different types of terrain. I thoroughly enjoyed that mission!
I don’t know if it counts but Devil may Cry 3’s final Virgil fight was amazing and the end was almost heartbreaking. Talk about a game that outlasted it’s system. Beautiful, even by today’s standards.
On PS3 I would say any part of heavenly sword is a favourite of mine.
On PC Bulletstorm is the unbeatable non-stop adrenaline inducing first person action roller-coaster for me.
i hope naught dog make uncharted collection for ps4
And then, about 2 years later, they did. Psychic.
8th
Could have replaced one of the Uncharted sequences with some Shadow of the Colossus. The fight with a giant bird, on said giant bird, while it actually flies around the open world in real time would be top of my list. (And then some Uncharted right below it.)
b-b-but.. burning weed in FarCry 3.. while battleling a whole army of pirates.. while listening to Skrillex.. while listening to your character getting batshit crazy :'(
PlayStation king of exclusive set pieces
PS- I reccomend ppl watch Chpt 17 of Uncharted3 (cargo plane sequence from the beginning ) to the end
On of my favorite set pieces, whilst being relatively short in in Crysis three, when you fight on to the dam with your bow, set the explosives and then blow them up, killing the evil boat guys, catching a wire and swinging to safety, only to watch as the water explodes into the post apocalyptic, ruined jungle city, smashing you down the next mile of jungle city, so that you can carry on your mission in the now flooded streets. Awesome.

Long games are awesome like uncharted 2...until they are not accidently get deleted. By the way I cannot wait for uncharted 4....already holding my ps4 in the air!
You didn't have a PS4 back then, you got it in 2017!
i may be the only one, but if i played AC Black Flag, all i'd do was sail Kenway's ship, blasting the hell out of navy ships and singing the pirate shanty song from Pirates of the Caribbean
Great video! Can't wait for uncharted 4, I've heard naughtydog may be making a remastered HD trilogy for the first three uncharted for PS4!
this video gave me a lot of memories, I miss my ps3 and I miss playing AC IV and Uncharted 2, I remember all of them and I agree with this list, That Train scene in Uncharted 2 was my favorite
My favourite Final Fantasy moment and one of my all time favourite gaming moments was the part in FF 9 where the song You are not alone plays. I feel like FF 7 is stealing too much of the spotlight from the series here. The bike chase in MGS 3 is better than the one in 4 and the sinking ship in Uncharted 3 is better than the train section in the second game.
Hey Playstation Access crew, would you mind dedicating a week to Assassins Creed Unity or Rouge or even both! That would be great.
Honestly, this could be a list of amazing action set pieces from Uncharted alone. That game had some of the best sequences I've ever had the pleasure of playing.
Even though it isn't on PlayStation, the two set pieces in Ori and the Blind Forest, though they're hard as hell, are incredibly beautiful and epic.
Played them all and I like them all ;) Uncharted takes it for best set pieces for me. Tomb Raider 2013 had some really good ones also.
I swear, if Rob ever stops making these videos then life will have no meaning.
Amen.
Agh, you didn´t tell anything about the best part of the plane scene from Uncharted 3! What about the plane falling apart and crashing??
Great list coulden't have agreed more with the number 1 but C'mon, the Uncharted series is phenomenal when it come's to scripted set-pieces there's literally no other game that can match it!
Tomb Raider. And I mean the reboot for the playstation 3 and its sequels on the PlayStation 4. I hold my breath on every cut scene.
Ripping of cronos' nail was the best part of the boss fight. Also being chased by his saliva..... I love God of war so much
Saints row 3 and 4. Nuf said.
Final Fantasy VII took off its top and people's jaw dropped... Final Fantasy takes its top off today and people are like roll those things up and put them away.
at first when i saw the plane section of uncharted 3 on the bottom of the list ,i thought "how could they put that over the train section of uncharted 2" and then...
great list, i must admit
I remember playing Uncharted 2 for the first time and i was gobsmacked. Bloody briliant game and very pretty
If we're talking about uncharted, how about in 3 with the ship sinking with you on it. My personal favorite.
Fantastic work PlayStation access. Great video and reminded me of why I enjoy gaming. To many more great years ahead
Can u please tell me what the last OST was...i loved it ...(a little more than the video itself....P.S dont tell Rob..he will get angry)
Uncharted 4 convoy chase scene
Stunning view of Madagascar
Crazy action
And laughter in the middle
The train sequence in Uncharted 2 is def one of my best gaming memories and def the best set piece out of all the uncharted games, 4 included.
Yikes, the nail pulling scene - I just lost a nail on one of my big toes and can't wear sock or shoe in Cornish winter weather, brrr
What's the Metal gear solid tally now Dave? (P.S. I don't blame Rob it's a hell of a game!!)
Metal gear solid is my top game of all time the one on PlayStation and hopefully they could do a remastered version of metal gear solid like final fantasy 7
