  • The Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance editition are at the top of the Ford EV food chain. There is a $5,000 difference between the two models. We compare them side by side and we also pit them against each other to see which one is faster. The results my surprise you.
    Both vehicles in this video are 2021 models.
    If you're thinking about buying a Mach-E, you need to watch this video.
    Thanks Gibi for letting us feature your Mach-E GT! Check out his instagram / gibi310

    Test should have been done fully charged. You would notice the different torque better.

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  2 роки тому +2

      It's not possible to fully charge these vehicles in a reasonable period of time unfortunately! We were identical in state of charge and that's what matters for an accurate comparison. Same day, same surface, same time, same SOC.

    Seems like the the minor time difference is the gtpe wheels slipping at the start. Those summer tires just arnt gripping in that cold weather. Any version of the mache will be a fun car to drive, but gtpe definitely has the best styling.

      More torque more wheelspin. Happens in the summer as well. It was about 70 degrees when we did this test. The front wheels always spin.

    Hey Erik, before you go to the track ask your dealer if they'd be willing to update your battery software with the new charge curve. Mach-E owners are getting a sneak peek of it just from regular service visits before it's sent over-the-air to everyone else.

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  2 роки тому +4

      I don't fancy a trip to the dealer. Waste of a huge chunk of my day. I'm happy to wait for the OTA.

    Id like to see the test done again at a higher state of charge on both vehicles.

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  2 роки тому +1

      It will make a small difference. The GTPE seems to apply more torque to the front tires and I always get wheelspin. Unfortunately it’s not really possible to get beyond 80% for tests like this as the charge curve is extremely slow after that.

    • @metoo3918
      @metoo3918 2 роки тому +2

      @RevMatchTV I disagree. I own a GTPE, the power is very very noticeablely weaker under 50% compared to over 80%, especially from a 65mph punch. Even if I only need 30 miles of range, I charge to 90% just to have peppy acceleration.

    What benefits does the different front motor on the Performance Edition bring? I think this shows that Ford could have just offered a GT, and then the addons that come with the GT-PE could have just been options. All Season or Summer tires? OK. Want tulip or hairpin rims? Good choice. Magneride? Check. Seat option A, B, or C? Gotcha.
    That would have left room for more track-related improvements, either through a "Performance Package" or an actual "Performance Edition" that doesn't shut itself down for those that are apt to push its limits to that extent. Not everyone wants/needs to have a car that can win at the autocross or be fun at the track, but it sounds like those Magneride dampers could be nice for everyday driving! I'd take those along with the hairpin rims and the 245's on all-seasons, or give me the summer tires, and a set of take-off Premium wheels with winter tires. Maybe someday...

      Nearly every manufacturer bundles desirable items into packages nowadays. At least with the Bronco you have a lot more configurability. Hopefully when they ramp up production, there will be more options. See my track video with this: ua-cam.com/video/3_9XmaPHrPo/v-deo.html

      The Premium model AWD has a large motor in the rear and a smaller one in front...The GT has a large motor in both the front and rear....Also the summer tires arent really any good in Libtard ran cities...The human EXCREMENT in the streets make them really slick...Like ice...All weather are better..

    They are pigs under 60% state of charge. Look at the dash while sitting still, you'll see the "prison bars" which means the software has pulled power due to the SOC. The lowrr the SOC, the more bars you see. Its even noticeably slower under 70%.

    Buut hey, the Performance did slipped it's tyres before it got away.
    On a better surface the performance will probably kick as 😁
    I can imagine that the Performance has more kick in the start :)

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  2 роки тому +2

      Exact same surface, same SOC, same day etc. They were extrememly close. Perhaps too much initial torque in the PE? Perhaps the tires had less grip because they need more heat? Pretty hard to call it on that particular day.

    • @aquill1
      @aquill1 12 днів тому

      @@revmatchtvsummer tires, especially those pirelli tires, need heat. Colder than 50° feels like ice on those tires.

    to me if you dont want to call it a mustang then dont. but me being a huge mustang fan i feelpeople shouldn't be so but hurt when there are so many variants of the Mustang to choose from
    If mustang is its own brand then there is more variant than some car brands have models.

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  2 роки тому +3

      No launch control system. Torque control is essentially instantaneous compared to an ICE vehicle, so it's not really neccessary to have a separate system.

    Owning a MME GT non performance and racing my buddies GTPE they are literally beside one another to 70mph. Our friends liked our MME GT when we took delivery in Oct and ordered a 22 GT non PE on Halloween- they picked it up Sat. My wife and I rode in the back (never had in ours) and on seemingly smooth roads on all my other cars, including a lowered 124 Spider Abarth, I found the MME GT non performance ride super bouncy! I don’t notice it when driving as much - funny I didn’t want the PE specially cause it had Mag ride which I have had in 2 other cars and they both had issues. I also note on the MME forums there seem to be a number of faults with Mag on the MME GTPE too. If I keep mine past 1 year, I will see what suspension improvements I can make

    I can conccur with the firm ride quality on the non performance GT. Very stiff, too stiff for a family car, if I can't fit it I'll probably be trading mine for a Ionic 5. I also have a GT350 and that has a bit more smoother ride than this. I wish ford just made magnaride standard on all GT models.

      Magneride is great. It's superb in the Mach 1 and I think it's just as tood in the Mach-E. I agree - would be nice to see as an option.

      I’m currently driving a Mach-E GT and was a previous owner of a GT350. I firmly disagree with statement of ride quality being worse than the GT350. My GT500 rides much better than the GT350, and this Mach-E ride is better than my GT500.

The iX 50 is also on my short list... love it's performance. Still, at the moment, the Hummer EV (SUV version) is currently at the top of my list. 😆

      Um. The issue is in the seat. You are going to get your best runs in engaged in both, and the low SOC is also a thing. With the GTPE, you have to also roll on a little more then just stomp, because of the wheel spin due to the huge torque low end.
