    Inquisitor's WoP is actually one of the best, but not its base skill. You put points into it like 2 and 1 to mastery bar every level for the first 3 levels, then swap to 1 and 2 mastery till you get the second skill, which increases its radius and damage (it's almost as much damage as points in the base skill + radius)
    Storm box is the single target damage for inquisitors.

    For nightblade, I'd also suggest 1 pointing ABB and LA because LA buffs the aura's damage. As an early combo, it's crazy damage combo.

    I'm fully behind skeletons as your go to skill for Necro. And the more points in the first and second skill the stronger it gets. Can get you through normal without ever touching an enemy (after you unlock it)

    • @Arcadelife1

      Yeah, and it is easily the "laziest" leveling skill as you can pretty much just wander about looking at the scenery and picking flowers while they wreck everything.

    IMO for occultist summon familiar is also a great early game skill. It may not seem to do much with 1 to 2 points in it but with the base skill and storm touched (or what the familiar damage booster skill was) maxed it will absolutely decimate trash mobs at least in act 1 and also clear bosses relatively easily. Putting some points to hellhound also helps draw some aggro away from the familiar. It doesn't even need pet boosters to make clearing most of act 1 a walk in the park and it can then be respeced to something else.

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Рік тому

      Yeah, I’ve done that with the two pets on Occultist at the start of the game and it is very strong. I had to decide for this video which single skill would be the best for most players (particularly new players) for clearing big groups of enemies the fastest, and Bloody Pox seems overall the best general recommendation.

    I've been experimenting with lots of Oathkeepers, and wat i do is to put a few points into the shield bonus passive for loads of flat phys, and then rush for Judgement (spirit guide to reach it quicker), because Judgement gets a HUGE area increase, and the damage is nice enought!
    great video, never used the cocktail before and it looks cool AF

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Рік тому +1

      That Oathkeeper tactic sounds fun!
      Cocktail stays viable all the way, helped massively by the resistance reduction on its 3rd node. Attach Fissure devotion to it (for example) and it’s even more crazy.

      Oathkeeper's Guardians are also amazing to level up! Pair it with dual Authority and you are set for the game! (I even managed to get my Hardcore achievements using a Dervish pure acid guardians, my most successful build!)
      By the way, did you know if it is possible to spawn Authority sceptres with the shieldbreaker prefix? (or the other one that also gives +2 to guardians?) Because I'm farming it nonstop for a week and can't find one...

    I'm a new player, but a couple things I've experienced. Word of Pain on Inquisitor is really good for early AOE, the single target is a bit lacking but you can throw a few point in the lightning box to supplement the damage. I also did Ravenous Swarm fully maxed out, and although it's energy hungry, you can group up the mobs and take most of them out in a single throw, then you can even add a couple points into Bloody Pox to really pump the damage

      @@Arcadelife1 I'm not impressed with the arcanist. I thought the class would be... "Boomier," so to speak, like a traditional mage. Maybe when I get to higher levels.
      Any suggestions on energy management?

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Рік тому

      @@gh0stluv979 Boomier - try pairing Arcanist with Demolitionist. Energy issues can be sorted with the two passive skill nodes on Arcanist, the first one “Inner Focus” and the fourth one “Mental Alacrity”. There are also components (example Ectoplasm) that buff energy/energy regen, and you can prioritise wearing gear that has energy regen buffs on it.
      I’ll dig out a few links to Battle Mage videos (Arcanist and Soldier) so you can see what’s possible with a fairly bad mastery pairing.

    For Nightblade I find the fastest to go through normal is Phantasmal Blades with a Spectral Crossbow, like people have said WoP on Inquisitor is insane, lvl second node. For Shaman, fastest I find is Wind Devil/Storm Totem. Necro skellies is great but Ravenous earth is also great, just need to get there first.

      Thanks, great info from you once again. I failed on Word of Pain, totally admit it, and this additional info (from everyone who has contributed) is very useful. The other skills mentioned (needing gear or loads of mastery points) I avoided mentioning as I wanted to focus on skills that can be acquired very early on with zero (or very simple) prerequisites. I’ll do a ‘Word of Pain Apology Video’ very soon.

    BWC is the best/2nd best because it pairs so well with the best leveling component, fire blast/greater fire blast so well. WoP is arguably better since it sticks to enemies and has no CD, but requires a greater point investment to really make it wide spread, but it also pairs with fire blast.

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah, I need to mess about more with Word of Pain to see how I can make it work better for me. I tried to avoid saying things like "this skill will work well with X or Y" because at that point I thought it would start getting beyond the scope of 'absolute beginners' and would once again drag one of my videos out to an hour!

    For Shaman, Devouring Swarm is great, but adding Grasping Vines makes it stupid easy to destroy mobs. Grasping Vines slows down their movement by up to 75% and damages them a lot, and if they're melting from Devouring Swarm at the same time they have no chance. This combo is the easiest early leveling I've found so far.

  • @Psoewish

    I love aegis of menhir but it is a bit of an unconventional one to get going. You wanna keep the base skill low to save energy usage, get the bounce to lvl 10 which maxes out the number of bounces, and then max the final skill before going back to the base one. You’ll absolutely obliterate anything the game throws at you, including bosses with a bit of kiting.

    Just bought the game and went in blind and let gear dictate my skills. Stuff kept giving me bonuses to skeletons so thats what Ive gone with. Im still only early on but im not even able to get a look at bosses before they are killed now. Its fun in a way but im also a bit sad as it means im personally not required to do much at all. May at least switch it up to veteran. Not sure how good the build will do end game tho.

    Having levelled about 8 Shaman by now, I think you are wrong. The best choice for levelling a Shaman is Wind Devil. That skill on its own can safely carry to well past level 50. And unlike some of the others you mentioned, it is a very reliable boss-killer. And no mana problems either since you don't need many points in the main skill, just the modifiers. And imo, Word of Pain is BY FAR the best levelling skill in the game. Nothing comes close (maybe Forcewave?)

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Рік тому

      Fair enough. Where would you spread the points around the three nodes, to give it a bit of context for how many points a new player might expect to invest (and where) for a viable skill.

      I would say that Devouring Swarm may be easier to use. Especially early game. So long as you can line enemies up right it will cleave right through them, and heal damage taken rather easily.

      Game sounds are turned down deliberately so as not to drown out my amazing commentary. Commentary isn’t blaring out loud because you’d really not want that. Overall, it doesn’t sound ‘very low’ to me. Some of my older videos are definitely too quiet and/or affected by background hum due to me being a muppet setting the microphone up, but this one seems ok to me.

    Bloody Pox is my favorite skill. I found a pair of swords that increased bleed damage by 200% and applied bleed damage and had +2 to Bloody Pox skill on EACH one. I popped one point into Nightblade and one into the dual wield skill. My Bloody Pox damage went from 2100 to almost 5200 after attaching the gallstone components. One cast clears monster shrines in under 3 seconds.

    Does it matter what cult god u side with?

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  8 місяців тому

      Not massively because they all remain friendly and they all gain reputation from Eldritch kills. You just get a bit of a head-start with reputation for the cult you choose and you follow their early quests through Forgotten Gods. There are other reasons to choose a particular cult related to gear but you can swap cults in elite and ultimate so there’s no ‘mistake’ really.
