Great video as always Rick and I’m sure you’ll love the Fermzilla. A couple of top tips that I was given was to use the stand upside down when it’s inside the fridge (just might save you buying a new fridge!) and it fits perfectly in mine. Also, buy the optional webbing strap/harness that keeps it secure on the stand and use some soft tubing (like the tube on the float) sliced lengthways so you can clip it over the rim of the stand. It can be a slippy bugger when it’s wet and this helps stop it tipping.
I have one of these bar the trub collector at the bottom.. fermenting under pressure is well worth it and so great to be able to see the magic happen as well..Happy brewing Rick🍺
Miss mine tremendously. I just didn't have room for the larder fridge. It's mesmerising watching the yeast chomping at the wort! You'll enjoy it, looking forward to the set up and first use👍
Looks good Rick I am actually waiting on my delivery from geter brewed tomorrow. I got a 30ltr fermzilla gone mad on the pressure fermentation the way forward. Great video as always happy brewing cheers 🍻
Here is my thought, and correct me if it could be wrong. When you put it together, keep the bottom cup on but with the caps on not using the carb cap. Open the valve and put it upside down on the bucket blaster. This would allow the sanitizer to shoot in the cup and sanitize all pieces inside the unit. Let it drain, then put the lid on, fill with CO2 and bleed off the O2 using the pressure fitting relief valve up top. Once that is done, then close the valve, this will leave the bottom cup filled with CO2 and sanitized, fill with beer, then open to drop trub, No issues, and only one setup with touching/installing the collection cup once.
That would definitely work. I shut the valve before fermentation then when I want to use it I sanitise and then purge the trub dump before I use it , open the valve, shut the valve and take it off. I do it this way just because I use less co2 than filling the whole fermenter. I use the fermentation to naturally carb the beer. Either way works definitely 👍👍👍👍🍻
Had the old generation with the screw fitting on the collection jar and butterfly valve, pissed me off no end. TC should be great. My only other gripe was with getting the lid off, let us know how you get on with that after a few brews.
The inner part of the lid is a bit tight but expecting it to loosen with time I’ll keep you updated or I’m sure you’ll see me struggling with it on a brew day 👍🏼🍻
@@BrewabitRick I knew you would not do it. But I think somebody on here once did it. The yeast kicked in and the co2 just pushed all the beer out..😪😪😪 Awful....
Just invested in the same product,15/02/24, put in a stout for st paddy day, initially had a problem with loss of pressure, checked everything, then realised the pressure gauge wasent pushed in enough oops ! Owner error there, sound in every way, cant believe how easy it is for a newby, once fermented, will be doing closed transfer to corny keg,no more oxyginesed beer for me,😁
Looks like a great bit of kit, are you thinking about creating a yeast bank using the trub collection bit? If it’s similar to the hop bong it might be worth adding a little Vaseline or lube to the o-rings on the tri clamps. Cheers 🍻
I’ve got my tape measure out ready ? Height with stand 77 cm to top quick disconnect. Add on about 7 cm for your spunding valve. Height with bottom blanking plate on and no trub / hop collector 55 cm Circumference about 120 cm I couldn’t find a very flexible tape measure but that’s about right Trub collector is longer than the old version it’s 18 cm and the butterfly valve is 7 cm Hope this helps you cheers 👍🏼🍻
Have to say already, the tri clamp looks an upgrade on the counter screw versions I have. Looks much easier to clean and everything. Have to say I don't use mine to it's full potential. I bought a recipe pack from malt miller boogie van I think it was, and I was gonna do the dry hops from below etc... then Kegland released the hop bong literally the next day so I said no point doing this half arsed I'll wait till I get the hop bong..... I'm still waiting. Honestly though health to enjoy, I think you'll be appreciate the faster lager process for pressure brewing as someone who always has a lager on tap?
Have you brewed a beer and fermented it yer Rick ? I only do small batches and would have loved one of these but I had to research and I have started pressure fermentation in a corny (need to do a video myself explaining what I do) cheers Rick 🍻 enjoyed the video 👍
Not used it yet but as far as I’m aware you leave it to build its own pressure up. It’s got the oxygen in it to let the yeast do it’s thing at the start of fermentation then it creates it’s own pressure. May be wrong as I said I need to watch some tutorials myself. Does that make any sense ? It does in my head but my head is a strange place to live indeed lol 😂 cheers 👍🍻
That is my take on it, let it ferment and naturally build up c02 to the desired psi for your beer style. I will be watching your upcoming videos on this subject. Cheers Rick
Christmas has come early. Looking forward to seeing it in action in the new fridge. Happy days 😊
Cheers I’m looking forward to trying it out 👍🍻
Your enthusiasm is infectious😂
Thank you so much cheers 👍🏼🍻
What a great video well done Rick👍👍👏🍺

Great system Rick! I have been thinking of buying one myself if I can find the room lol. Cheers 😀 👍 🍻

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking I know what I’m doing I’ve always said I’m fudging it as I go along 🤣 I do love that bit of kit though cheers 👍🍻

Guess what Santa is bringing us this year big dog! Great bit of kit but we need more space 😬
Fantastic I’m definitely going to get the hop bong next for it. Seasons greetings cheers 👍🍻🎄
@@BrewabitRick just snapped one up 😎 The Visa bill is January’s problem….
Don't put the spunding valve on the beer out like that when there is beer in it Rick...

I have made some top NEIPAs using PF nice new upgrade, can throw my food grade magnets away now. cheers Rick enjoy

Heard of these but not seen one, bet ya dead chuffed...i reckon the pressure will act naturally..look forward to seeing this in action Rick🍺👍

Don’t let the pressure transfer intimidate you,it takes a bit of time to transfer but it’s great for the beer. Good luck with the brewing cheers 👍🍻
I have 2 of the 55 litre models and im very impressed with them
I’m loving mine but I definitely think I need to invest in a hop bong for the dry hop 👍🏼🍻

I may definitely indeed collect the yeast and thanks for the Vaseline tip cheers 👍🍻
Great clip again Rick, any idea where you can find the dimensions for it? Need to know if it’s too wide round to go in me fridge🤷♂️

Curious, do you apply pressure to the fermenter at the start or do you let pressure build up naturally and set the spunding valve to your desired psi?

After I saw several of you almost unshaved guys on YT regarding beer, I'm always aware of hairs in my beer. Brrrrrr

l had to buy a bigger Fridge for mine
Definitely an oversight on my part but any excuse for a purchase lol cheers 👍🏼🍻
Is your ferm fridge big enough for that?
Just got to the end lol
