Great video and love the excitement in your content! I used to Nova Lager yeast once. The sweetness I had was a bit of a red apple (like it stated on their website) which I didn’t like. Maybe I will give it another try 😊

Your knowledge is absolutely awesome and even though I have the most basic basic understanding on how beers made , you really make me understand how much of an art it really is and I’d love to be able to brew . Maybe when I’ve finished the work on the house in 2036 I’ll give it a go . The beer looks amazing on the first look . I’m commenting as I watch . Wow , the beer in the bigger glass looks absolutely stunning, and I love the natural carbonation. The mouth feel always shows it . OMG I want a pint of that beer 😋. . The Saaz hops are stunning . Good to see you do a non homebrew review. Clarkson bought a lighthouse house many years ago on the isle of man and blocked a public right of way, 3 years later the manx public drove him out of town never to be seen again😂. 😊 beers seem ok in general , cheers pal🍺👍

Great video Rick just started drinking myself as I was watching. Had a Verdant IPA although I do have one of my own on tap which I think is better😂😂😂 Niw about to open a mixed berry cider which My Mrs made. Cheshire Dave gave me a kit to make so the wife made it and we sharing with him, 20 bottles each. I for one am guilty in not trying more commercial beers but I tend to drink Woodside Brewery beers as they are cheaper and I know the bloke who makes them. Infact come to think of it he looks a bit like me😂😂😂

Great vid again, nova lager yeast is absolutely on my list of next to brew. One I'm missing as the sun comes out is a crisp homebrew lager in keg or even bottle for the garden bar... I have got a mixed berry philly sour to get through though so could do the job 😂

At least the pear isn’t the most dominant flavour still looks like a great beer, I recently got a lucky dip hop from the malt miller as it was cheap Ekuanot will be doing a Smash with it, on your suggestion i checked the flavour profile so i know what I’m getting in to. Cheers 🍻

Lovely and perfect for the two sunny days we'll have this summer. Used nova a couple of times and impressed with it. The last brew I did half in an all rounder under pressure and half not under pressure and couldn't tell the difference. Have just done a bit of a Big Banana type Hells under pressure with Citra and Zappa so looking forward to seeing how the Hells yeast compares to the Nova lager.

I’ve just done my second pilsner with nova lager which is almost the same recipe as your own, I used some magnum for bittering and two more additions of saazer. I have brewed this at a higher temperature this time at 18c rather than 10c and think this one is cracking. Great content as always Rick

Ive only used nova once and had an absolute disaster with it, but actually that was the brew days fault rather than the yeast. Gonna have to give it another shot some time. One of the shots of your fermentation i near bricked myself looked like your PSI was off the scale 😂😂 Im a big fan of Saaz in lager/pils in fact its pretty much all i use, previously i had messed about with hallertau and all that jazz. Am i right in thinking Novalager is one of those hybrid yeasts that you cant/shouldnt wash/recover from the beer? Anyway great video mate as per usual.

I've just done my first brew with nova lager yeast and was amazed to see it starting to ferment within 24hrs even at 10deg! Looking forward to sampling it soon😋

How did you set your spunding valve? I've not brewed with Nova lager under pressure before.

I have pears everyday so this could be right up my street . Beer does look really good . Love it Rick Not really had pear taste in any beer so far . I’ve had peach from the galaxy hop as it mellows and develops over time in a drink . . Cheers . Speno 💙

Very interesting video . I had some everards old original that was nearly 2 years out of date and it was beautiful. Think sometimes some beers need time to develop . Cheers mate 🍻

Smoked mackerel on toast with some sriracha is my idea of a good time. El Dorado is a hop I've used a few times and I've never quite worked it out. Sometimes it was great and sometimes the opposite. Not one I used regularly.

Oh mate, I'm really sorry. All that work and looks stunning only to find a flavour that you dont like. What a shame. Maybe add some cloudy lemonade to drink in the garden when the suns out, might take away the Pear. Cheers again Rick keep em coming \_/

Great video Rick and highly interesting👍 I have not had much success with SMASH beers over the years but I can see the appeal and information they give to us home brewers not to mention the economic benefits to commercial brewers. As for Eldorado I have used it many times but quite simply I think it’s better mixed with other hops rather than on its own. Only my opinion and others may disagree but it’s what I have experienced personally. All the best mate I wish I could get the enthusiasm to do another video soon . I am brewing an English IPA on Sunday ( my recipe ) so am excited as to how it will turn out😂. Love to you and the family Rick👍👍👍

Smash beers sre s great way to learn about specific malt and verios different hops. I used to brew them alot when i first started algrain . Cheers mate😎👍
