The quad headlight design was the best one ever! Plus those W212 models had the nice flared rear fenders like the Bentley. I don't know why they got rid of that!
Once you take the valve cover off, be sure to inspect the cam lobes for any wear as they do tend to prematurely wear out. If you’re gonna do the cam adjusters you may as well do the cams if they’re worn, as well as the headbolts all at once
I’d also add lifters. They tend to stop spinning and wear horribly. As an MB tech I usually quote the SLS Black Series lifters because the coating seems to really help prolong the life of the lifter and cam.
Just wanted to say I appreciate videos like these that help people gain confidence in working on their own cars. I've always been a car guy but wrenching on certain things stresses me out.
Owning a car is not as easy as it seems. It requires a lot of money and time. The first thing that you need to do is to find the right car for you. You can either buy a used one or get a new one, depending on your budget and preference. There are also different types of cars, so make sure you choose wisely.
The first step in deciding if you should own a car is to figure out how much money you can afford to spend on it. The cost for buying and maintaining a car varies widely depending on your needs, but it is important to know what those costs will be before deciding if you can afford it.
Once you have chosen the type of car that you want, it's time to start looking for the right car dealership. You need to visit many different dealerships before you find the right one for your needs because they all offer different prices and conditions.
Congrats mate, 2020 E63 wow that's a ride! There are many benefits of installment payments. The first one is that you can get your new car without having to worry about the entire cost at once. Another benefit is that you can afford a more expensive or higher-end vehicle than what you might be able to afford with cash upfront. You also have the option of choosing from a variety of interest rates and loan terms, depending on your financial situation and needs. I will like to contact your dealership agent.
Oh, you are also a benefactor of this dealership agent wonderful, they deliver on time and have great management skills. Since I've been working with them, I buy wheels from Dubai with free delivery.
Fellow w212 m156 owner. Look at getting the 2013+ year steering wheel and shifter knob....really updates the interior look and is plug and play. Cannot recommend enough: long tube headers, mid pipe, and a tune from EightySixTuned. You can determine your own opinion on head bolts. I'd recommend getting some cam adjuster plates from 63 Motorsports, great company. I think the m156 is a great (but different) pairing to the M113k, I have a SL55 too. I like to describe it as 'the 55 will get your license taken, the 63 will get you taken to jail.'
Damn, I have post notifications on and still missed this. I dream of any m156 or m113k Merc, especially as a college student 😅 looks amazing, congrats on the new daily and I'm glad you're getting more subs and views. :)
I have a black 2010 E63 AMG with 68K miles. Bought it in 2014 with 34K on it. I paid it off years ago. I drive it 3300 miles per year on average. It’s always taken care of by the same mechanic, including a yearly service. The oil never goes more than 3300 miles. Whatever it needs is repaired/replaced at once, even the trim you wear with your butt getting in and out. And whatever comes-head bolts, etc-will be repaired. I’ll never sell it-a truly great automobile, the classic I’ve always wanted.
More about my 2010 E63: being proactive, and because the car was approaching 70,000 miles, I had my mechanic go over it to look for the traditional M156 faults described by Chris and others on UA-cam. As a result, I’m putting in billet cams from BlackBoost, upgraded lifters (SLS black) and head bolts from FCP Euro, and new hardened phaser plates for the cam adjusters from 63 Motorsports. I will also have the injectors cleaned, balanced and flow-tested.
Regally good video and well explained, I think washing the inside of your house garage door for a clean would be good. Just an awesome car you have and all the best.
Had an 09 SL 550 and the air suspension ABC is carbage. To fix it was like $2k a corner. Don't even think about the pump system that dives the ABC. Very expensive to maintain and managed to sell at the height of the car market.
Hey Chris, love the car! Have the exact same thing, black and all. Good mods to get: Oil Catch Can, Apple Car Play/Android Auto, and digital instrument cluster.
Hey buddy I love your content I can’t wait to keep seeing more I love MercedesE63 AMG andCorvette Z06 I was sad when you read it you E55 AMG what a beautiful machine❤❤❤❤
Where in new hampshire are you? I have a 2014 2 dr C63. Work in londonderry. Would love to get a pic of the 2 cars together. I want a 2010 E63 to add to it.
@@ChrisSullivan69 if it has that low of miles they may not have been done. Just call dealership was a recall and be free to you if haven't been done still under the miles was like 110 000km where I live. Says the guy that owned the worst built sedan ever created. Between the e60 m5 engine and horrendous transmission it’s no surprise that you’ll only see one of those crap cars on the road once a year if that. After the e39, the e60 was criticized on how ugly it was for years in comparison, at least the w212 still looks modern after more than a decade.
@talkditingsdem5799 That's fine. I don't care what you say. I at least conveyed myself with class you can barely hold your self together as you keep trying to talk shit. Looks aren't deal breaker for I would still happily own one and not be satisfied with the looks
Don’t know if you or anyone will see this but I have the opportunity (of a lifetime? Maybe.) to acquire myself one of these in this exact configuration and condition for the grand total amount of my life savings 🫠 I also don’t know shit about cars. Have no mechanical experience with them either but have a burning hot passionate desire in my heart to be a car guy and finally own an AMG Benz after 28 years of life in earth. Any advice if you were me, what would you do? I would love to wake up to a vehicle like this every morning I’d be blessed to and look forward to learn to maintain and understand such masterful piece of German engineering. Can it really be that hard & expensive ?
as someone who has driven through massachusetts multiple times every week for well over 20 years... i would NEVER buy a used car from that place or that was ever owned by anyone there !!!! the absolute cesspool of america and the reason (im guessing) that we in Maine broke away and formed our own state!!!!

All true AMG vehicles are hand built one man one engine. Congrats on your vehicle.
Chris, can you do more videos on the AMG? I know you’re all finished with it, but we’d love to see some more!
Nice….I wanna upgrade my cls550 to a cls63 soon……VERY SOON, they are such solid cars if you simply maintain them

I prefer your GM cars, but I may watch a few videos on this car.
When you were washing the car, why did the parking lights keep flashing?

that car is awesome!! I remember watching top gear test a similar amg e-63. not sure if it was 6.2 or 6.3
Thanks! I remember that same episode. It was this this exact car
Hey Chris, I found one of these up here in Canada on an auction site. 109k miles tho, how long do these engines last?
Hell yeah, looks good. Can’t wait to see the new content
Definitely gonna miss the V :(
are you considering filling the wheel wells of that otherwise killer truck?
what’s with you and benz? maintenance costs are insane compared to any other gm product you have on your channel
Nice one my favorites along with the g8.. head studs is a must if they haven't been done depending on year brother
First of all, Chris I love your channel. Everyone says this and it saddens me, but a power break is not a burn off. sorry
there is a black series kit for this that makes it look incredible
You need to put the gear in this driving mode, then the RS starting mode will be activated
Look into installing the 12in screen I’ve done it in mine it’s worth it
Welcome to the family of AMG on this model if you haven’t change the head bolts asap
Nice project loving it !
How is your AMG holding? Do you recommend me buying one?
Great so far!
Piston oil sprayers are in every M113 engine too, even the na ones
You sir have a new sub! Love your content.
Really enjoying the channel man
I need one of these now🤣 just waiting on this buyer for my gxp

Definitely do head studs if they weren't done... Was a recall though so you probably got them done already

Damn you must live pretty close to me. 🤙🏼
What you do for living? If you mind me asking

That would be great!
