I'm a trucker's wife with over 600,000 miles under my belt and I just love your videos. I wouldn't give up my lifestyle for the world, but after spending my days waking up to the smell of diesel fumes, bad food,, pricing truck tires, and seeing this year's fashion choices in flannels and long underwear, stepping into your world for a brief respite is wonderful! Keep'em coming, hun!
Yeah I drive a dump truck for a living, I got thighs thicker than my face and I just can’t seem to stay clean throughout the day no matter how hard I try and you can forget about keeping my nails nice. But I am still inspired to take a little bit of this and try to apply it to my every day life. I’m sure it’s possible. Thank you for Making me want to feel like a lady☺️
Love those pin curls! I’m convinced that you must be some kind of time traveler! 🕰 I’ve sewed most of my life but just making a dress by looking at a photo is way out of my abilities. You did fabulous! So creative and I love the historical background you give when sowing us a new look or activity. Love your sweet channel! 🥰💕
The rouge and cake mascara in particular are from Besame which is a cosmetics brand that specializes in historical reproduction. I own the cake mascara in the purple shade which has sadly been discontinued (can still get black or brown though). :(
Oh my goodness the dress is so dreamy! I agree with the others comment. You may want to bind the edges of the top neckline and sleeves. I wish I had time and energy to make this beautiful dress! U look stunning !
What a treat! I loved it! And you and the dress and the whole look is perfectly lovely! I love the drop-waist look of the 20s and I didn't know that you didn't have to him that sheer lace material. So thank you for teaching me!
OMG! I am SOOO enjoying your channel! Love all your videos and you are a beautiful model. If I were younger (I"m 62) I might even try it, but I think not, lol. Love everything about the channel. Please keep it up. xo
When my daughters were in school, I made many costumes for school plays. Although I made their clothes using a pattern, the costumes I made had no pattern. I also made hats for the plays using cardboard and material. The costumes were still used years after my daughters graduated.
was just considering making a 1920s dress! I think your sash looks like it is tied at the hip in your line drawing, rather than the waist which is a lot higher. Beautiful dress!
I adore your channel Sage, I love love history in cooking makeup ,dressing, routines etc etc. thanks for all your work. This is a pleasure to watch. More please!
You look lovely! That shade of pink really suits you 😊👌 One of my great-grandmas lived in the 20s. I never met her, but my grandpa had a portrait of her and she had the typical 20s pin curls bob, with long beads, and this type of dress. So classy!
You are a ray of sunshine and so talented. I love all of these videos. I’m inspired and may start dressing vintage, as Ive always wanted to but never had the nerve. Thank you for being you!
You are really interesting vlogger, love to see your olden day's passion and recreating almost that era . It's calming and brings smile on my face... love from India
You are so talented! I find it so interesting the styles through the ages. From a LOT of clothing/material full long dresses to this slim straight look without emphasis on the waist/curves back to a little fuller but a waist the really full skirts again in the 50's but shorter. It is so interesting. :) Love your videos!
♡ Love watching U create a Pattern!!! I'm now sure I'd really love to work with a mannequin!!! Unfortunately I'm heavy these days, which makes everything rather more complicated & more expensive. I wasn't always heavy... I sure hope I'll get back to a normal size someday!!! Anyway, Thanks So Much for this FAB VIDEO!!! (* Like U, I've always enjoyed Vintage clothes, movies, etc... Perhaps partly because I was super close to my Grandmother.) Beautifully Done!!! ♡♡♡♡
Happy Valentine’s Day! I love how you used a nightie to adapt a pattern for your 20’s dress. Very cute. You might want to bind the edges of the net especially at the neckline to prevent fraying. Your hair was adorable and I loved the whole look! 🥰
Sage you lovely lady you! Although it's doubtful I'll be sewing my own dresses anytime soon, I still always enjoy my time with you! I always learn something new and I just adore your presence on camera anways! MUAH! Super gorgeous finished look dear. 😍😋
I haven't seen cake mascara since my great grandmother used it. she would use mostly modern make up except for modern mascaras because she didn't like the way it smudged and bunched up on the lashes and had to be combed through to feather her lashes. You did a really great job.
Very cute!! Looks very similar to a dress my husband's grandmother wore when she was 16 years old. I think her mother had put ribbon around the neck and arm holes of the netting part....just so Grandmother wouldn't be itchy.
As I wrote the previous comment before your video was over, I must add how much I liked the way U showcased the dress, with hair & makeup, dancing in the grass by the tree & meeting up with your beau to walk off together!!! Beautifully Done!!!! Perfect Dress & Video for a FAB Valentines!!! Immortalized!! ♡♡♡♡
Also love the pinning of your hair (sipping tea out of fine porcelain during this adds points lol :) ) and your make up :) the dancing twirling curtseys and posing at the end round off your showcasing of talents nicely :)
Sage, you have made another very lovely remake over. I just love the dress it looks so good on you a nice blend of fabrics & color. Thanks for inviting all of us on your journey to living the Vintage Life Styles. Happy Valentines Day to you & James have a lovely day 💟.
You're so talented to put this together. I'd love to get a sewing machine, first to fix odd tears in my clothes etc and perhaps venturing into making my own. I love the colour, it looks beautiful on you! And I adore the vintage make up containers.
So obsessed with silent beauties like Joan Crawford, Anita Paige, Charlie Chaplin, Greta Garbo, Buster Keaton, John Barrymore and my number one favorite COLLEEN MOORE.
Absolutely marvellous - i love your process your attention to detail how you use the mannequin and the floor and the cutting of the hem of the dress towards the end. You know nail files plus files for smoothing edges of hard building materials like wood metal or plastic, it's a shame there aren't files for soft fabrics. Having said that you didn't need one here :)
Sage, when it comes to all things retro, anyone can see that you really "know your onions!" Your videos are "The Bees Knees" and wearing that dress anyone would have to say that you are one "Hotsy Totsy"! The only thing you need to complete the look is a 1926 Packard Roadster and a pack of Camel Cigarettes!. As folks from the '20s would say, "Now you're on the trolley!"
Oh my!!! You are so adorable!!!!! That dress is gorgeous!!!! I love your spirit woman!!! ❤

What a happy life you lead. Doing the things you want to. You are very talented and special. A joy to watch and imitate. 😘
Not only a lovely dress, but a fabulous Charleston too! I'm so pleased you've ventured back to the 1920's in the 2020's ❤
Thank you so much! 😊
Honor a esa década de hace un siglo. Saludos.

I love watching your videos! Keep it up Sage!
I love how you did a real 20s makeup. The dress is so cute you are very talented 🤩

You did an AMAZING job on those finger waves, they aren't easy and you nailed it!
Thanks so much! xx They are difficult to do but I was pretty happy I managed to make them look nice enough haha!
Oh my goodness the dress is so dreamy! I agree with the others comment. You may want to bind the edges of the top neckline and sleeves. I wish I had time and energy to make this beautiful dress! U look stunning !
Thanks so much lovely! ❤️ Luckily the fabric doesn’t fray so I was able to leave the edges raw! Xx

This is so cute! I love 20s style. I am amazed by your sewing skills, especially making up the dress pattern.
Aw thank you so much! XX ❤️
I also love the 1920s fashions!
Wow, I like the contrast between the 1920s look...and the very 2020ish SUV in the background. Two different times, collide!
the 20's are my favorite era! you did this so perfectly 👏
Thank you so much!! Xx

Amazing. I loved watching Sage create a dress without a pattern. Clever girl (woman).
this looked so fun!!! i love the 20s
Oh turned out lovely. I am so afraid of trying to make my own clothing. I can do quilts and pillows 🤣 wondering looks stunning .

Hook and eyes are perfect Closure for any time period costume . They have been around for centuries.

Thank you so much! ❤️ The fabric doesn’t fray so that’s why I left it raw in the final dress! Xx
@@SageLilleyman oh good! I’ll stop worrying about it then. Ha. Such a cute dress!
Adorable, just adorable🌹🌹🌹The delicacy of the dress is wonderful, very beautiful. I loved the dance at the end of the video😍😍😍😍
I'm usually not a huge fan of 20's fashion but omg this dress is the coolest!
Yayy, thanks so much! 😊

My great grandmother was a flapper she even crochets and knits too.

Happy Valentine's day to you it all turned out so cute the only thing you're missing of those long strings of pearls they used to twist around
Thanks very much! 😊💕 I know I wasn’t able to find some nice pearls 😱😭
@@SageLilleyman I know the long ones are kind of hard to find
