Fun Facts after this movie: Balin was killed in Moria. He was in the tomb in the Lord of the Fellowship of the Ring. Ori was the skeleton holding the big book next to Balin's tomb as well. Oin, the dwarf with the ear pipe, was killed by the Watcher (the huge kraken-octopus creature) in Moria from the Fellowship of the Ring. Dwalin lived on throughout the Fourth Age and passed away at the age of 340. Gloin was seen accompanying Gimli in the Fellowship of the Ring at the Council of Elrond. Bombur was still the same, eating and drinking. Bifur and Bofur cloistered in the Lonely Mountains with their riches. Dori and Nori participated in the Battle of Dale, which were the Dwarves of Erebor against the Easterlings of Sauron. The Easterlings were those corrupt men seen marching towards the Black Gate during Two Towers, where Frodo, Sam, and Gollum saw them. Dain II Ironfoot became King as we saw. During the War of the Ring, he was killed in the Battle of Dale, defending the body of King Brand of Dale. King Brand was the son of Bain. And Bain was the son of Bard.
....and Tom Bombadil took a long walk with his his wife to mordor and fell in to fires of mount doom just before Peter Jackson decided to make the LOTR trilogy
I haven't laughed so much, you both are like a breath of fresh air. I maybe a 55 year old grandfather from Scotland, but you have both brightened up a horrible Tuesday night. You both are so funny😅😅😅😂, thank you both for making me laugh and smile, I needed this so much❤
it's amazing that the ending of this movie was done to match up the scene of Bilbo meeting Gandalf at the Door in Lord of the Rings and The Fellowship of the Ring that way when watching all of the hobbit movies first it flows smoothly to where it would be a continuation of not just Bilbo's story but also of "The One Ring's" journey when starting all of the Lord Of The Ring films.
Richard Armitage played the role of Thorin Oakenshield amazingly. His portrayal of him losing his mind was impressive. This was a great reaction video. Thank you both.
Agreed. Also IMHO 'Balin' and 'Dwalin" , and Lee Pace as Thranduil also really excellent...and great work by the screenplay writers (Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Bowen and Guillermo Del Toro) for the lines and character guides ( for want of a better word) for the actors. For such a large cast, the casting is so impressive...great depth despite the more action-oriented nature of this trilogy. .
FYI: The gems King Thranduil refers to were part of his Wife's dowry which, after she died in battle,Thranduil contracted with Erebor's craftsmen to put into a wonderful necklace in her memory. (And, as a gift for her when she, like all elves who are killed) would be reincarnated in Valinor). When the work was done, Thranduil came to Erebor to collect the finished Necklace but KIng Thror (Thorin's grandfather) out of greed (Dragon Sickness over the treasures) withheld the necklace, demanding payment OVER AND ABOVE the previously agreed price... hence the bad blood between the Elves of Mirkwood and the Dwarves of Erebor.
That was also my take on why the Wood-elves showed up at Erebor after Smaug drove out the Dwarves. He came for the gems, not the aid the Longbeards. It's the only explanation for how he showed up so quickly.
In case you missed it, Gandalf started all of this to ensure the black dragon was killed. He did not want it to join with other evil beings, that were growing in strength
There is no writing anywhere in the Professor’s works about if or would Smaug, like the Balrog serve or work with Sauron. Smaug was driven by the evil malice of Morgoth who produced dragons, not the will of Sauron. Sure Smaug might have been a natural Ally BUT after Morgoth’s defeat Sauron was never able to call on any Dragon’s help in all the wars of Angmar nor any other war in the 2nd Age.
By killing Smaug, Erebor and Dale were able to be rebuilt and made obstacles to the Easterlings. Otherwise, Sauron's forces would have swept over the northern lands of Middle-Earth.
0:12:20 It makes me smile how two pretty girls who speak so sweetly the rest of the time get bloodthirsty when it's time to bash the bad guys ;) "Get him! Beat his head in! Cook him in a stew!" LOL!!
It is hated by many Tolkien fans as it had just dumb shit in it. Aka Dain riding a pig or those mountain goat things showing up, barrel scenes or the impossible goblin caves chase, let alone the cartoonish guy in drag crap. Overall though a kids book it is still grounded in a grounded world that is lacking. They did get many things right, Smaug, Dwarves at Bilbos House and overall the acting was very good especially Freeman as Bilbo.
I just wanna say two things about the intros: First, the two girls have a great flow in terms of their back-and-forth conversations before and after the films...like neither of them say anything too short or too long and both give very even amounts of time...i feel like it is naturally done just right! And ALSO I wanted to point out what a pro Chi is when presenting the information about patreon and all that...I literally am entertained even watching her say that exact same part every time at that moment, just because it's fun to see her do it so well each time! Such a quick, professional flow...she kinda even says it like she gives no shits and is too cool to even possibly worry about making a mistake and it's always so great to see! And that's not even to mention the high quality of the rest of the videos as well!! 😄😄

Me and my dad always laugh at the troll ramming it's head into the wall. Dude had one job and he did it 😂😂😂 end of contract Also want you girls to remember something. This is the same Ballin that gimli cried over in moria. The tomb scene in the fellowship movie
The maps used in the movie (like mountain Erebor at the end) have been originally drawn be Tolkien himself and were first used in his books. A man of many talents he was.
What is not told about the Elven King is that the necklace he desire was his in the past. The last memory he had about his wife. In the movies it seems that he is greed, but he only want what was his since the beginning
Yes, though the story about Thranduil's queen and Gundabad is original to the films. Tolkien never writes anything about Legolas' mother or her fate; for all we know she is still alive. The story about the White Gems of Lasgalen is based on the First-Age legend of the Nauglamir (dwarf-necklace) and the fall of the Elf-king Thingol and his realm of Menegroth at the hands of the Dwarves of Nogrod. This is the source of the enmity between the Elves and the Dwarves.
@@otaku-sempai2197Yes, you are right. I was check the information and remembered the story about Thingol and Dwarves. But about the Thranduil I could not remember where I heard about his wife.
Fun fact, the song in the end of the movie, on the start of credits is "The Last Goodbye" by Billy Boyd - who played Pippin in Lord of The Rings 😊 never fails to make my smile and sob at the same time
Thx Chi 🏅🗡️🪙 Hella 🌸🏹💓 "I think I am quite ready for another adventure" 🍿📽️🎫📽️🎬 We hope we will go on many more adventures with you ladies ⛰️🐉💰 🇬🇧🤗🌟☘️🙇🏻♂️🇻🇳
Most people probably know this already but I've had people ask me irl. When Thorin refers to Fili and Kili as his sister-sons it means his nephews (son's of his sister). It was especially meaningful when they had raised them as their own child. Eowyn was the sister-daughter of King Theoden of Rohan, but he raised her as his own daughter.
I don’t know if you girls noticed this but the chest Bilbo was carrying was the same one the dwarves buried in the troll cave in the first movie. Sadly, Bilbo had to use most of the treasure in the chest to buy back all his stuff that got auctioned off 😭
It has been such a pleasure to revisit Bilbo's adventure with you. The realization that the adventure has come to an end, and that your time in Middle-Earth is over, can leave you quite sad. But there is comfort to be found in the words of Gandalf, that "Not all tears are an evil." You can visit Middle-Earth any time you wish... just hit PLAY.
Or open one of JRR Tolkien's books. Or listen to an audiobook version. Andy Serkis (who voiced and acted as Gollum/Smeagol) recently has made audiobooks of The Hobbit and of The Lord of the Rings.
@@terrylandess6072 Yeah, it made me realize that Star Wars and LOTR are war movies, but they are also full of joy and wonder. I realized that watching Chi and Hella.
Ladies I don't know if you already knew that Balin the old dwarf with the white beard is the dwarf who in the Lord of the Rings the companions lay in the stone coffin in the mines of Kasatum and the dwarf with the funny hat (the skellet with the book) that Gandalf read from. Some of the dwarves from The Hobbit later died in the Mines of Moria.
King Dain was Thorin's cousin and the Lord of the Iron Hills. Here's a bit of trivia that highlights the differences between the books and the films: In Tolkien's legendarium, Aragorn was still just a 10 year-old boy at the time of the Battle of Five Armies, not yet a young Ranger called Strider. Tauriel was original to the films. She was originally going to be named Itaril and Saoirse Ronan was one of the actresses up for the part. Here is the original casting call: "[ITARIL] FEMALE, A WOODLAND ELF, this character is one [of] the Silvan Elves. The Silvan Elves are seen as more earthy and practical. Shorter than other elves, she is still quick and lithe and physically adept, being able to fight with both sword and bow. Showing promise as a fighter at a young age, ITARIL was chosen to train to become part of the Woodland King’s Guard. This is the only life she has ever expected to live, until she meets and secretly falls in love with a young ELF LORD. This role will require a wig and contact lenses to be worn. Some prosthetic make-up may also be required. LEAD. AGE: 17-27. ACCENT ’ STANDARD R.P."
38:00 An army of dwarves appears ready to fight the elves. A baffled Hella, "I don't know who to support." Chi, "I'm speechless." Hella, "Gandalf get outta here..."
28:20 Yes, at this point in the stories Bilbo has possession of the Mithril coat, The Arkenstone, & The One Ring. Bravo for picking up on that. Namarie'
Ok the dwarfs using ballistas that throw a projectile blocking screen infront of their cavalry was really cool. In videogames and fantasy dwarfs tend to be good at using machines. It makes up for how slow they are.
I liked a lot of the elements in the Hobbit movies. I also liked some of the storylines added, like the female elf and the drawf and the rescue of Gandalf . The issue for me was some of the set pieces were overblown to ridiculousness. Like the whole fight with the dragon against the drawfs in the mine, the river escape, and pretty much large part of the final battle. I think the three movies could have been edited down to two and those set pieces removed or toned down and made more realistic. Those parts were just too cartoony and broke my connection to the movie. But overall I think there was a lot to like with these movies.
Yeah that I think is what I feel is off for the Hobbit movies as well. Some of it is too bright or something just not right with the rest of how The Lord of the Rings is originally. The two Trilogies don't mesh well together.
Also, the added storyline of elf/dwarf romance was just time padding in my opinion, the movies didn't really benefit from it nor it would have lost anything without it
So much ridiculous crap added to these movies. I can understand putting in some of the stuff they left out of the LotR movies, like Radagast - even if it was forced and klunky. But all those extra "dramatic moments" like dropping the key, and the mountains coming to life, and the battle on the river were just padding, and added nothing to the story.
That final battle was absolutely epic and the main spectacle centerpiece. This was quite the trilogy and a conclusion to it, it was a wild ride for sure.
8:52 With word spreading far and wide that the dragon is dead, everyone will now want to come and take treasure. even the best thieves in Middle Earth feared Smaug and so didn't even bother to come. now that he's gone, what's to stop an army of thieves from invading the mountain?
I don’t “geology” was the word you were looking for, Chi. But you’re still adorable, and thank you so much for learning our language. I think you meant, Anthology.
Great reaction as always! I thought I'd throw a few suggestions your way, if you don't mind: - Pan's Labyrinth -- a beautiful, yet dark, fairy tale; just a magical movie, and one of my favs :) - Arrival -- a really interesting and deep sci-fi movie - Nightmare Before Christmas -- perfect for Halloween coming up in a couple of months
Lets hope they make a film of The Silmarillion. The Silmarillion is a book consisting of a collection of myths and stories in varying styles by the English writer J. R. R. Tolkien. The Silmarillion is the history of the War of the Exiled Elves against the Enemy, which all takes place in the North-west of the world (Middle-earth). Several tales of victory and tragedy are caught up in it; A great book.
A big reason people didn't like the three Hobbit movies is because of all the CGI, the over the top/silly fighting and one of the biggest reasons is the made up love story that was never in the book. Also Legolas never appeared and was never mentioned in the Hobbit story.
I have enjoyed this journey with Chi Baggins and Hella Baggins! You girls are awesome and did a great reaction to the Hobbit trilogy! I too wish there were more movies like this! And yet, although Eru breathed a soul into the dwarves, they are still greedy, cruel and impudent. Probably because they were originally created by Aule without Eru's permission.

@@danilokenobi You probably saw it in some of the promotional material for the films!
1:08:17 Legolas defies physics and runs up falling bricks.
Hella realizes, "It's like Mario."
This is why Hella is awesome.
you could even say she's "Hella awesome" lol
@@akeel_1701 Yeah. They don't call her Hella for nothin'.
Fun fact, the song in the end of the movie, on the start of credits is
"The Last Goodbye" by Billy Boyd - who played Pippin in Lord of The Rings 😊 never fails to make my smile and sob at the same time
Thx Chi 🏅🗡️🪙 Hella 🌸🏹💓
"I think I am quite ready for another adventure" 🍿📽️🎫📽️🎬
We hope we will go on many more adventures with you ladies ⛰️🐉💰
🇬🇧🤗🌟☘️🙇🏻♂️🇻🇳
Most people probably know this already but I've had people ask me irl. When Thorin refers to Fili and Kili as his sister-sons it means his nephews (son's of his sister). It was especially meaningful when they had raised them as their own child. Eowyn was the sister-daughter of King Theoden of Rohan, but he raised her as his own daughter.
I don’t know if you girls noticed this but the chest Bilbo was carrying was the same one the dwarves buried in the troll cave in the first movie. Sadly, Bilbo had to use most of the treasure in the chest to buy back all his stuff that got auctioned off 😭
Great reaction thanks!
The actor that shoots the black arrow at the dragon also plays a great role as Dracula!
The scene where Dwalin confronts Thorin always gets me in the feels
12:18 so dainty, so delicate, so savage, hahaha . . . . can't get enough Hella :o)
So glad to see you enjoyed this series too. Some great moments sprinkled throughout this trilogy 😁
31:12 Pretty sure an orc army has never before been described as, "Powerful and crowded" - Chi and "angry and feisty." - Hella.
@@terrylandess6072 Yeah, it made me realize that Star Wars and LOTR are war movies, but they are also full of joy and wonder. I realized that watching Chi and Hella.
Oh, so sad: The last one. Thank you Movie Munchies for the reaction. We were happy to relive the adventure with you for this final installment.
Dwarves can be very stubborn for their own good.
Ori is the dwarf who Gandalf took the old book of records from in Balin's Tomb room.
Chi: “His (Dragon-sickness Thorin) brain has malfunctioned!”
😂😂😂😂 Savage
1:15:05 Dain is not Thorins Father or Uncle he is Thorins cousin. The line of Durin (the first dwarf to awaken) flows through them
40:50 "too many animes". True, there's alot of animes out there, Chi lol. ( I know she means enemies but I can't help but think of animes lol)
Chi and Hella thank you for going through this entire series it has been awesome you women rock!
"Everyone, grab a bat!" 🤣🤣🤣
38:00 An army of dwarves appears ready to fight the elves.
A baffled Hella, "I don't know who to support."
Chi, "I'm speechless."
Hella, "Gandalf get outta here..."
28:20
Yes, at this point in the stories Bilbo has possession of the Mithril coat, The Arkenstone, & The One Ring.
Bravo for picking up on that.
Namarie'
great reaction! you enjoyed it more than me, i enjoyed it more through you lol
"Everyone should just grab a bat" 🤣🤣
"When will this war end??" When frodo destroys the ring, remember?
The death of Smaug happening before the title card was a crime.
I love these ladies so much!!❤
A Legion is : the principal unit of a army comprised of 3000 to 6000 walking and riding soldiers. Origin ancient Roman Military.
The wise and kind old dwarf with the beard was the one who lied dead in Moria that Gimli cried for on his grave.
"Now can you die, please?" "Yeah, die, close your eyes and don't open it, ever." ROFLMAO :D 1:11:06
Maybe 5 percent of this movie was in the books. Peter turned it up past 11.
My favorite Eastern elves strike again.
I don’t “geology” was the word you were looking for, Chi. But you’re still adorable, and thank you so much for learning our language.
I think you meant, Anthology.
The reaction of the small Asian princesses is incredible !!!
the dream team is back! Chi and Hella! you guys are the best and I love Hella's "jeans top" lol very interesting design there
1:05:40 Nicholas! Nicholas!....Nicholas!
I'm glad I got to see your reaction to this tribology so I don't have to rewatch them. I only saw them when they came out and that's enough.
its so CUTE how she keeps saying TRIOlogy.. i did the same mistake for years .. 8)
Great reaction as always!
I thought I'd throw a few suggestions your way, if you don't mind:
- Pan's Labyrinth -- a beautiful, yet dark, fairy tale; just a magical movie, and one of my favs :)
- Arrival -- a really interesting and deep sci-fi movie
- Nightmare Before Christmas -- perfect for Halloween coming up in a couple of months
Thanks girls I love your channel big screen and you show more of the movie than other chanels do and your empathy watching from Canada
Thank yall for sharing these reactions! Amazing and beautiful as always!
I don't know if you two know this, but the Shire, Hobbiton, is a real place. It's in Matamata, New Zealand. It cost $72 a ticket to visit it
Battle of the 5 army: 10.000 elves, 6.000-5.000 dwarves and 300-200 lake men vs 30.000 orcs of the army of Azog and 10.000 Gundabad's Orcs
And the eagles
I Thank you for all the reactions ^^ youre awesome guys .
Me encanta las reacciones de estas dos jajajaja se toman las películas tan enserio.
A big reason people didn't like the three Hobbit movies is because of all the CGI, the over the top/silly fighting and one of the biggest reasons is the made up love story that was never in the book. Also Legolas never appeared and was never mentioned in the Hobbit story.
4:10 bell is tolling in case someone didn't notice
Wonderful books, and very good movies.
I have enjoyed this journey with Chi Baggins and Hella Baggins! You girls are awesome and did a great reaction to the Hobbit trilogy! I too wish there were more movies like this! Well maybe they will make a side story similar to this trilogy!?! Thanks for sharing and Great reaction Chi and Hella Baggins! 😂 I luv Movie Munchies ❤️💛
There's a few scenes in your reaction that are not in my DVD, they were a delightful surprise 😊
Absolutely love Hobbit and LotR trilogy ... These are masterpieces of cinematic universe. Now ladies, when are we reacting to Avatar (2009) ? Another masterpiece if you ask me which should be watched at least once.
thank you for your WONDERFUL REACTION ladies! 👍☺
You should see Clifford, Medicine Man, Step Brothers, The Score
47:23 Not sure what Hella grumbles, but this would make a great youtube short.
Never cross Chi. You’ve been warned.
I was really sad when Kili died
Btw, Gandalf has many names...
Incánus
Láthspell
Mithrandir
Olórin|
Stormcrow
Tharkûn
The White Rider
Magneto...
Thorin won't give Bard "a single coin" even though Bard single-handedly killed Smaug?!
Thorin sucks.
56:10 Hella knows! Sometimes when the staff doesn't work, you gotta rub it!
I enjoy your reactions more than I like that movie! lol
Chi and Hela would make beautiful angelic looking elves ❤❤❤
17:56 these are not the 7 kings, these are 9 former kings, if you remember in lord of the rings these are the black riders, and the nazgul, the one who stab frodo baggins is the witch king of angmar
YESSS finallly getting to see your amazing reaction on this !!!! :D
What are your thoughts on Bolg? (tehe)
Awesome reaction of my favorite The Hobbit movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
I truly loved your reactions! I really enjoyed it. Btw I recommend you girls to not watch “the rings of power tv show series” because it was created by those that didn’t read books and watch the original movies that you’ve reacted to. I hope you beautiful girls take a chance of watching and reacting Inuyasha tv show series.
And yet, although Eru breathed a soul into the dwarves, they are still greedy, cruel and impudent. Probably because they were originally created by Aule without Eru's permission.
You could watch "Tolkien" (2019) it is about the author as a young man.
She sounds like the white worm in house of the dragon
Hi everyone
35:32 Hella has had enough of Thorin's BS.
(But Bilbo should have just said they recovered the Arkenstone from Smaug's corpse.)
"Are They OK"? shhh it must always be said.
I like the director too.
"Bowman" are people who use bows to shoot arrows. It's not a name he was calling him. He is a bowman.
1:03:38 Legolas does an inverted slice and dice hanging from a giant bat?!
"What kind of skill is this," Chi.
"We should all do this! Everyone grab a bat!" Hella.
56:35 Annoying Unibrow dies in a most satisfactory way... (Extended Version Only.)
Movie Munchies celebrates as if a Death Star was destroyed.
why they dont understand that thorin is sick, the pink girl is so upset it should be sad but ok
When you have children you will do your best to have peace ☮️
