"Typical Milwaukee county" That's facts right there! Can we all agree that this was a first. A haze of smoke caused by the Canadian wildfires cancelled Milwaukee's monthly siren test. Unbelievable. I never gotten any of their tests during my 3 month break from school so I was quite disappointed. Meanwhile, Elm grove had tested their sirens during rainshower's. Pretty sure Brookfield doesnt cancel on a slightly overcast sky. Not sure about New Berlin though. Either way, thank goodness they changed their policies.
You’re not alone, I traveled 5 just to get nothing at a GCS Model 5 in Sault Ste. Marie. They decided the next day they were gonna do it and obviously did but on a day I wasn’t gonna be there. Sometimes I just wanna grab a chainsaw and tell them, “You don’t deserve this siren anymore”.
Somewhat reminds me of my vacation to Chicago this month. I scheduled it in November as I would be able to get an Illinois test and a Milwaukee test back to back. Illinois was a success, but it was raining on the day Milwaukee tests and I thought they weren’t going to test, so I did alternate plans back in Chicago. Turns out they changed their policy. I’m still pissed that I didn’t risk going to Milwaukee that day.
Reminds me of when I went to Chicago last month for a P-50, so I booked a Hotel to spend the night to go see the siren the next day to be there on time just for it to be canceled just because the fire department was "On call." It was a nice blue day as well. It was supposed to be my first time seeing a P-50 and witnessing it go off for the first time. :( Being a 6 hour drive to Milwaukee, WI all the way from Ohio after working night shift and a long battle with the Chicago traffic trying to capture this siren, I'd be more disappointed if the ACA Hurricane didn't go off this month.
Cancel tornado siren testing for overcast? that's freaking ridiculous who cancels tornado siren testing for overcast? ---- Milwaukee county. Why? Because their fricking stupid when it comes to tornado siren testing. That's just more worse than a tornado siren failure.
Yeah, this was a mega bummer! I can still feel how my heart dropped upon hearing that they cancelled, even as I'm typing this now. I'll just have to plan another trip I guess... Does anyone have the group photo we took though? I wish you captured the unified "OOOOOHH" everyone made when I told them I booked the hotel, and had been planning this since about mid June!
@@ACAFan101 By the way, is there any chance that I could use some of this footage when I eventually get to my own video on Milwaukee? Your footage would add a lot to the video.
You’re not alone, I went to Upland in California to see their Sterling Model-M which tests at 12:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. It did not go off. What’s worse is that we went to see it for my birthday. Good thing is that I saw my first Sterling.
The siren system has finally met. The Grim Reaper has met its demise as its doom has missed the graveyard for sure has met the abyss. it’s finally met its match this should all go down and tornado siren history. The p50s are the loudest siren in the world I will miss it even in Milwaukee iand Wisconsin the state of Wisconsin the siren system will never be the same ❤

Yea literally.

@@XX-35withtophat I was tole that the CEO collects many other sirens that ASC replaces.
You can literally sleep in the horn of a P-50.

I’m sorry that they canceled 15 minutes before the test. I’d be pissed to if that happened.
Marathon County, WI NEVER cancels their tests! I filmed a succesful test in the rain!

Life could be dream if the county could see this video and stop overreacting about weather (even though I'm a southern siren enthusiast)
Seems like they might have. Two months later they changed their testing policy to even rain. They are a little better now.
