TSLA will reveal its structural strength over the next couple quarters... EV sales and cash on hand (no debt) is base, battery storage is counter-cyclic revenue source, FSD/robotaxis is near term (2-3 years) growth, and Optimus is long term (3-6 years). No one else has equivalent financial strength and a product portfolio to match.

The increasing global market shift to EVs will destroy a lot of the anti-Tesla myths. It will become clearer and clearer that EVs are the world's future. As that reality dawns, discussion will turn to which company produces the best EVs for one's money.

Interesting. EVs must be flavour of the month. Tesla sales down 25% in China. 2nd quarter of lower sales overall. Company debt is nearly $3B at the end the March quarter up nearly double in 18 months. It was in cash surplus til 2022. Negative earnings growth too but buy this wonderful company? The facts are company is burning through more cash than it is earnings.
Spending far too much on AI R&D compared to the cash flow from EV sales. Cash flow was in deficit by $2.50B at March 31 plus increased debt to $3B in 18 months. That’s not sustainable.
$10B’s are needed to progress Robotics in the next 5 years. Where’s those funds going to come from?

Brian should listen to Matt Smith and Lary Golberg who have more knowledgeable about Tesla’s energy storage business. When each Megapack is sold there is high margin revenue that is held in reserve for as much as 18 months after the unit has been installed and operational. This includes perhaps a 10 year maintenance contract, performance metrics, and benchmarks.

btw, that S&P inclusion disaster is currently happening to Palantir. I've been all in on Tesla but started buying palantir a few months back to keep myself more interested in it. One of the few companies who actually make crushing profits from AI. To be honest, I don't know others. Tesla AI profits are still in the pipeline even there's revenue from FSD.

Palentir’s profit was only $300M last year and yet it has a market of more than 150 times that!!!
It needs to be earning about 400% more than that to support the share price. So much sentiment in the share price pricing the hope of AI growth in software sales. Maybe worth $25 in 3 or 4 years but not now without the earnings.

@@user-zm6kj4gn4v ye sort of agree, just like Teslas was as we were waiting for that spot in sp500. But open up an excel and those numbers. Revenue growth to cost growth has a massive cap. Meaning now that the sales have hit a fast accelerating phase the eps should double this quarter only. Plus technically it's on the way to hit ath this year. If it gets the inclusion the same thing happens what happened to TSLA.

The MOMENT Tesla went into ENERGY I knew they would be one of the biggest companies on the planet and that cars would matter less and less over time. Now add to this conviction them entering ROBOTICS on the back of their continued incredible ground breaking work that is FSD. What will that make them? Yeah... it's going to be BIGGER THAN APPLE by far and Elon said that one day Tesla would be bigger than a few huge companies combined. The noise around the stock and the man seems to have erased is much earlier comments from their memories, but I 've been watching for EVIDENCE of how he WILL MAKE THAT HAPPEN. I can see clearly that he is executing on those statements. it's going to be a BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY! We have to stay calm and keep looking forward. #NFA

…and where is the money going to come from for Musk’s dreams.
I suppose he can call on Aladdin for some help.
The car business is cooked. Cash flow fell by 20%,cash deficit of $2.51B in March quarter alone, debt risen by $3B in 18 months (in surplus until 2022).
These are bad signs and shows a company in trouble.
Spending far too much on AI R&D at a time when the EV business is bleeding cash. That’s obvious.
You can’t develop other technologies with a negative cash flow company. One must support the others. Where is the $10B’s going to come from in the next 6 years.
Ask Aladdin. Combined with Musk’s magic, there’ll be some whimsical answer. If only…not looking good for the company.
Dreams don’t come true if you don’t have the funds to develop them and bring them to reality.

I am seriously concerned with the description and renderings of the Robotaxi. The pictures I have seen are of a very small two seater that seems quite low slung, the rationale being that the vast majority of taxi rides are for single passengers. I would like to say what about the old and infirm (populations are rapidly aging) there is no way that Robotaxi as portrayed is going to be suitable for such users. I would draw attention to the Canoe concept for such a vehicle and the new EV London taxi vehicles which seem to me to be much more practical and aligned for widespread use.

    Gents- always enjoy the program(s)...
The Tesla AI story is so misunderstood- how advanced it is, how much a moat Elon has, as well as all the permutations Elon where can take it-
The NVIDIA relationship is a huge strength- in terms of how Elon and Co as well as NVIDIA advance Training and Inference HW and SW. Elon even with DOJO and the Inference HW has at least a half a decade advance exp on what needs to be engineering into Silicon... for the Tesla specific use cases and NVIDIA benefits from that as well because they will serve the other 60-70% of the Market. (That makes Tesla how gargantuan at 30% of the market?? Yep, gargantuan).
NVIDIA will need to have real FSD sw for that part of the market that they go after- with Tesla as the dramatic leader to supply their part of the market. Not everyone will buy Teslas Inference HW- but they will all want Tesla's SW on NVIDIA inference. How large would that sw market be... Lets see did MSoft build apps for Windows and MacOS? Does Linux have multiple apps running w multiple HW impl?
Vision based Robotics in the large and small. Again, Elon started w wheel based robots, and now has the legs so to speak. LLMs will be used to engage w Robots- but there are a lot more larger Models, Behavioral models and dimensions to AI and Neural Nets.... Again... think of the > half decade lead Elon has here-
In truth- I don't believe Elon could have gotten to Neural Nets being the heart of FSD and CyberCab... w/o the traditional Heuristic based AI development and employment pre v12. Reason- there would not have been the baseline of good driver videos to learn from. In other words, in order for video learning to happen w Neural Nets, it has to have the base line of good drivers to visually learn and model from. Same philosophy- Elon builds the machine to produce the machine.
Think of the tools that Tesla had to create to get here - to leverage data, vision etc. Think of the expense from a compute perspective, network perspective in order for them to take on 5 million EVs worth of data... Instead they have figured out how to selectively identify the unique corner case driving examples to learn from (then use edge processing) and only send that relevant data to be processed centrally to learn from.
This involves some very specific capabilities at an edge processing level- to handle all of this.
So in terms of NVIDIA- with Cuda and the sw moat they have... from an Inference perspective and from a Learning or training perspective - as far as vehicles and robots, Tesla will be no slouch- here- and remember, because Elon has been building Edge Inference for so long- they have already established leadership around energy reqs at this level... eg. Optimus is fully robust- and utilizes industry leading low power reqs. Think of useable Robotic time.
Telsa and Xai have so much to give to each other- yet - Tesla doesn't need all the dimensions of AI where Xai will go.... nonetheless Xai can embed Tesla capabilities and be a distribution arm for Tesla... and visa versa.
Like I said- Tesla and Elon have so many paths they can take- and they are not starved of data, use cases, etc.
As far as China goes- Tesla offers the highest priced EVs yet at the same time - they have become the BMW of a higher qual vehicle w/in the EV market.
The Chinese consumer wants FSD.... Elon being brilliant has taken Tom Zshu back to China to exploit all of this - the perfect guy to do so...
Ross Gerber and Gary Black are good guys- although Ross is a bit jaded and bitter. They can't by means of the way they run their business do anything more than think a year - maybe 18 months out.... Elon on the other hand pland in 10 year increments. Executes in 3-5 year increments- and from an overall vision perspective is in 30 year increments....
Quite the opposite of CNBC, and some of the other knuckle draggers....
    Cheers

Ok and where are all of the funds going to come from for futuristic adventures? Thought of that.
      Here’s the EV business ATM.
Negative sales, negative margins, much lower net profit (down 55%!), negative cash flow over $2.51N deficit in March quarter alone!, debt up $3B in less than 2 years ( previously in surplus).
Competition is killing the company. Chinese kills all others in market share through lower priced offerings. You don’t think they will copy Tesla’s tech?
      You’re dreaming..
Look at the financials before write/think any more about the future developments.
AI development is bleeding cash flow from the business. That’s the truth.

Does it make sense for Tesla to produce a lower priced EV which would be selling into what is going to be a very competitive (low margin) market with all the Chinese players?
If FSD is about to be sold just build robotaxi plants. No one else is close to having an actual full self-driving solution. Even those companies with a detailed map system will have higher capex and opex reasons why they won't be price competitive.
Plus robotaxis help Tesla address their mission statement faster. A NYC or LA taxi drives about 70,000 miles per day. A private car about 12,000. One EV robo would replace about six ICEV driven Uber/taxis.

Developing tech requires massive amounts of capital. Many $10B’s. The company is bleeding financially through competition. It’s just going to get worse and there’s so many dreamers who believe in the Musk spin. Understand he’s the supreme salesman. Unless he can raise funds from equity and/or debt, there’s going come a time where the EV business won’t be able to support the next stages of growth. You really live in an alternate universe. Go read Tesla's financial reports. Tesla is very profitable and has billions of cash on hand.
In addition to being a very profitable EV manufacturer, Tesla is also starting to make very meaningful profits from energy storage. With the profits they have earned they have almost finished work on AI full self-driving and AI humanoid robots. They've brought the Cybertruck and semi to market which will now scale to create even more profit.

Funny about that. Sell you something then don’t care. The resale situation is just going to get worse. As new models can’t be sold due to competition, continual price drops will mean much lower used car values. It’s why 2019 models can sit unsold for years without substantial price drops instigating a sale. Only going to get worse. Buy a hybrid. More practical and you’ll ensure much better resale values down the track.

Here’s the facts about Tesla. Negative Cash flow is bleeding funds from the company. Net cash flow was down 20% in the last year .Cash flow deficit was -$2.51 in the March Quarter. That’s over $10B going out of the coffers a year. Thats not sustainable. Net income fell by 55% in the last year to March. Debt has doubled in the last year and half to nearly $3B after being in surplus up until 2022.
What does this all mean? It means cars are being sold for less, margins are lower (due to competition) and too much money is being spent on AI infrastructure. One has to feed the other but the cash flow from the operating business can’t support the new businesses R&D then the company is either doomed or development of new tech is delayed.
When it comes to Musk and shareholders, hope springs eternal.
A business can’t be grown with continual massive negative cash flow.
Rising earnings are required for growth in R&D etc Robotics require $10B’s for commercialisation. If can’t make sufficient margins and earnings then development isn’t going to happen.
The stock is grossly overvalued on short term metrics/forecast earnings which are and will continue to be negative in the future.
Competition is killing the company and their market share dwindling as more buy other manufacturers EV’s and hybrids which will be the growth market for practicality.
These are the facts. Ignore them at your peril. The company is living on borrowed time and yet so many can’t see that. You’ve been warned.
Cash flow is king and somehow Tesla has to find a way to make that positive. I really don’t see how that can happen. Enlighten me on financial grounds if you think that assessment may be wrong.
