Probably the best but certainly the most elegant metal band right now. No need for garments and accessories from the heavy metal boutiques here. These ladies have good dress sense.
"Knockin' At Heaven's Gate" (August 23th, 2023) is the 2CD/DVD/Blu-ray of their live concert on March 11th, 2023, in Tokyo. There are 4 videos taken of that live album for their UA-cam channel LOVEBITES: "The Hammer of Wrath", "Nameless Warrior", "Judgement Day", and "Liar".
One trivia regarding the band is that they are small, very small. The two tallest are 1.57 m (Miyako and Fami), the rest are under 1.50, Midori 1.49, Asami 1.47 and Haruna 1.45. So much power in such small packages!
They also, as at the end in this song, do DOUBLE LEADS, playing the same solo with speed and precision. And Midori, the one with the legs...WOW! She's got a real physical presence. Attractive and a little scary. Wonderful, high-energy stuff. (oh, and Haruna, the drummer is a true dynamo.)

This songs really ticks all the boxes for me, love it. Lovebites became my favorite band in early 2022 when I heard they lost their bassist & founding member Miho, I really fell in love with their sound and song writing abilities. Since they found the new Bassist Fami, They are on an amazing journey to reclaim their Heavy Metal dominance. This band Brings a wide variety of Heavy Metal genre to the world and each song is unique and fun to discover. Also they are like an old school re imagined Iron Maiden/Judas priest with plenty of classical Metal influences combined with classical music in their melodies and guitar chords. They will be recognized as one of the greatest bands today eventually/soon.

I have very little experience with Rock bands, so I didn’t know they used 2 guitars, although I think I’ve seen where some lead singers will play one as well so I guess that’s incorrect

The truth is that I still don't understand why people continue to recommend songs from this concert that have a noticeably lower audio quality than the previous material available. The difference in audio quality is so noticeable that for me it's almost like recommending watching Lovebites in Bloodstock...

And it is also true that I am exaggerating with the comparison with Bloodstock, because there is nothing worse than that, but the problem is that in addition to Loving Lovebites, I am an audiophile. So going from concerts 2 years ago with such great, memorable audio quality, to then return with something of such inferior quality, full of audio problems that not even Postproduction could hide, was a very hard blow.
@@Actkqk3 I read somewhere that with this concert, they engineered the Blue Ray/DVD as if you were at the concert. So the echoes would be there, some of the distortion would be there, and the crowd was more in it. Yes, the overall sound quality is better in the previous concert releases, because they focused on that part. But there are a lot of reactors that are new in the last few weeks because of this concert, so why not recommend the other releases with Fami to them? Then they can go back and listen to their previous stuff with Miho and continue to enjoy them.

About the dresses, a French metal mag interviewed Asami (singer) and she told them, "We're all girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we're all small and the white makes it easier to see us." And the are SMOL! Haruna (drums) is 4' 9" and Asami is not much taller. Midori (Blond guitarist) is between 4' 10-11" and Miyako (other guitarist) and Fami (bass) are around 5' 2". This was Fam's first concert with the band and this was the first song of the concert and you can see Asami giving Fami encouraging looks throughout the song. A little background for the members. Midori "Crazy Shredder" started working out during Covid and has become a competitive bodybuilder in Japan in addition to being a great guitarist, which she started playing in highschool. Miyako "The Golden Touch" was studying concert piano from age 3 and taught herself how to play the guitar in highschool, she has released a solo album of her on piano and is the mother of two kids. Asami "The One and Only Voice" studied ballet for many years before becoming a singer, she did mostly R&B and even came to America to study. She had never sung Metal before auditioning for Lovebites. Haruna "Little Big Engine" formed the band with Miho "Natural Born Headbanger" (former bassist, more later) from when they both left their former band Destrose. Miho left the band, amicably, in 2021 after her father passed away. She is back playing but is doing her own thing now. With her departure Lovebites had a worldwide audition to find a new bassist, ultimately finding Fami. Lovebites then recorded a new album with her and the rest is history.

Nice reaction! Harmonizing duos, plus one playing lead while other plays rhythm are two reasons i can think of right away why a band would have two guitarists. Iron Maiden has three guitarists! Lovebites Midori (blond ponytail) and Miyako are two of the best dual guitarists I've heard, and The Hammer of Wrath is my favorite song of all time. For a different sound from them, try the live versions of Nameless Warrior (faster but goes a bit softer), and Liar. Always nice to see people trying out new musical genres. I actually got into metal relatively late in life, so I'm kind of a newbie too.😊

Asami (Lead Vocalist) is generally interpreted as having an "operatic style" voice, which is unheard of in heavy metal as far as I know. It is more apparent in some of their other songs. I didn't see any BabyMetal on your channel though. Now if you were entertained by the juxtaposition of this band, prepare yourself for a "WTF" moment when you watch BabyMetal. The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

These ladies are world class musicians. They play the current standard of Metal. *Not 1 bad or weak song* on 4 consecutive studio albums. What a balance. To me, "Nemophila" (also all-female Japanese Metal band) are on the same excellent level, technically. Lovebites maybe are rather "arty", Nemophila are rather "punky", but it pays off to have a look on both. I strongly recommend "Seize the fate" *live* from Nemophila. With Iron Maiden, Lovebites and Nemophila, I am in Metal Heaven. 😁

"Style" is my favourite Nemophila song, with its heavy, groovy almost psychedelic Nu-Metal sound. The music video is pretty funny as well. For some reason that I don't understand, it isn't one of their more popular songs.

@@RikaShae Lovebites has a very large and loyal fan base (I am one of them) but some can be very strident in their devotion. Most metal bands do have two guitarists but I doubt the majority have two lead guitarists and very few have two lead guitarists at the level of Lovebites. BTW, congratulations for discovering Lovebites and Jinjer on the same day. I recently saw Jinjer live (on the rail no less) and they were absolutely amazing. Similarly to discovering two of the best guitarists in the world with Lovebites, you discovered one of the best, if not the best, metal vocalists in Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer.

One trivia regarding the band is that they are small, very small. The two tallest are 1.57 m (Miyako and Fami), the rest are under 1.50, Midori 1.49, Asami 1.47 and Haruna 1.45. So much power in such small packages!

This songs really ticks all the boxes for me, love it. Lovebites became my favorite band in early 2022 when I heard they lost their bassist & founding member Miho, I really fell in love with their sound and song writing abilities. Since they found the new Bassist Fami, They are on an amazing journey to reclaim their Heavy Metal dominance. This band Brings a wide variety of Heavy Metal genre to the world and each song is unique and fun to discover. Also they are like an old school re imagined Iron Maiden/Judas priest with plenty of classical Metal influences combined with classical music in their melodies and guitar chords. They will be recognized as one of the greatest bands today eventually/soon.

Two guitarists, if they are good, are something a band can't replicate with just one. These two are two of the best in the world, and as a duo they are unmatched.
I have very little experience with Rock bands, so I didn’t know they used 2 guitars, although I think I’ve seen where some lead singers will play one as well so I guess that’s incorrect

The truth is that I still don't understand why people continue to recommend songs from this concert that have a noticeably lower audio quality than the previous material available. The difference in audio quality is so noticeable that for me it's almost like recommending watching Lovebites in Bloodstock...
@@Actkqk3 Oh gosh, no, Bloodstock is significantly worse by several levels of magnitude. This still sounds amazing. Did you see his eyes light up and his huge smile. I think he was bitten.

And it is also true that I am exaggerating with the comparison with Bloodstock, because there is nothing worse than that, but the problem is that in addition to Loving Lovebites, I am an audiophile. So going from concerts 2 years ago with such great, memorable audio quality, to then return with something of such inferior quality, full of audio problems that not even Postproduction could hide, was a very hard blow.
@@Actkqk3 I read somewhere that with this concert, they engineered the Blue Ray/DVD as if you were at the concert. So the echoes would be there, some of the distortion would be there, and the crowd was more in it. Yes, the overall sound quality is better in the previous concert releases, because they focused on that part. But there are a lot of reactors that are new in the last few weeks because of this concert, so why not recommend the other releases with Fami to them? Then they can go back and listen to their previous stuff with Miho and continue to enjoy them.
Honestly you could see me squeezing my head phones at first because the vocals are WAY under mixed compared to the instruments, I gave up hearing what she was saying at all and just wanted to enjoy the show

“We are back’……..and how! All the pent up energy of two years caged up away from the stage unleashed!
About the dresses, a French metal mag interviewed Asami (singer) and she told them, "We're all girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we're all small and the white makes it easier to see us." And the are SMOL! Haruna (drums) is 4' 9" and Asami is not much taller. Midori (Blond guitarist) is between 4' 10-11" and Miyako (other guitarist) and Fami (bass) are around 5' 2".
This was Fam's first concert with the band and this was the first song of the concert and you can see Asami giving Fami encouraging looks throughout the song.
A little background for the members.
Midori "Crazy Shredder" started working out during Covid and has become a competitive bodybuilder in Japan in addition to being a great guitarist, which she started playing in highschool.
Miyako "The Golden Touch" was studying concert piano from age 3 and taught herself how to play the guitar in highschool, she has released a solo album of her on piano and is the mother of two kids.
Asami "The One and Only Voice" studied ballet for many years before becoming a singer, she did mostly R&B and even came to America to study. She had never sung Metal before auditioning for Lovebites.
Haruna "Little Big Engine" formed the band with Miho "Natural Born Headbanger" (former bassist, more later) from when they both left their former band Destrose.
Miho left the band, amicably, in 2021 after her father passed away. She is back playing but is doing her own thing now. With her departure Lovebites had a worldwide audition to find a new bassist, ultimately finding Fami. Lovebites then recorded a new album with her and the rest is history.

The band, formed in 2016, is named after the Grammy winning song Love Bites (So DO I) by Halestorm. Lead singer , Asami, joined Lzzy at Download 2019 to perform that song.
Miyako and Midori(blond pony tail) on guitar are IMO 2 of the best today. Haruna is a beast on drums. New bassist Fami is seen here , she joined last October after original bassist and band co founder ,Miho, left in 2021. Knocking on Heaven's Gate is the DVD released last month, it's the 2023 comeback concert after 2 years off stage ( restrictions and Miho leaving) , Fami's live debut.
Asami will say in a live show "We are LOVEBITES, and we play heavy metal". Some songs lean towards thrash, like this , "Thunder Vengeance" and "Break the Wall". Some, like "Holy War", lean towards power metal. this is an older song, from their 1st album, Awaken From Abyss, in 2017. Another band that is great live. 4 albums and several EP's, 60+ songs to choose from.

Nice reaction! Harmonizing duos, plus one playing lead while other plays rhythm are two reasons i can think of right away why a band would have two guitarists. Iron Maiden has three guitarists! Lovebites Midori (blond ponytail) and Miyako are two of the best dual guitarists I've heard, and The Hammer of Wrath is my favorite song of all time. For a different sound from them, try the live versions of Nameless Warrior (faster but goes a bit softer), and Liar. Always nice to see people trying out new musical genres. I actually got into metal relatively late in life, so I'm kind of a newbie too.😊

Your reaction to these girls is very common. Love it! Lovebites is hands down one of the best metal bands in the world. Asami (Lead Vocalist) is generally interpreted as having an "operatic style" voice, which is unheard of in heavy metal as far as I know. It is more apparent in some of their other songs. I didn't see any BabyMetal on your channel though. Now if you were entertained by the juxtaposition of this band, prepare yourself for a "WTF" moment when you watch BabyMetal. Here is their most viewed video at only 182 Mil views...lol 2.8 Mil subs " BABYMETAL - ギミチョコ！！- Gimme chocolate!! The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)

These ladies are world class musicians. They play the current standard of Metal. *Not 1 bad or weak song* on 4 consecutive studio albums. What a balance.
To me, "Nemophila" (also all-female Japanese Metal band) are on the same excellent level, technically. Lovebites maybe are rather "arty", Nemophila are rather "punky", but it pays off to have a look on both. I strongly recommend "Seize the fate" *live* from Nemophila.

"Style" is my favourite Nemophila song, with its heavy, groovy almost psychedelic Nu-Metal sound. The music video is pretty funny as well. For some reason that I don't understand, it isn't one of their more popular songs.

The things that blows me away about Lovebites is I think the tallest girl is 5'4" the bassists? and the drummer is like 4'9." Seeing someone 5'4" tower over people is surreal. By the way, they have 2 lead guitarists not one.
By the way, if you like this song, there are no BAD Lovebite songs. Just songs you like better than others. I mostly prefer the Live versions and there are a ton of them on you tube to choose from.

@@RikaShae Lovebites has a very large and loyal fan base (I am one of them) but some can be very strident in their devotion. Most metal bands do have two guitarists but I doubt the majority have two lead guitarists and very few have two lead guitarists at the level of Lovebites. BTW, congratulations for discovering Lovebites and Jinjer on the same day. I recently saw Jinjer live (on the rail no less) and they were absolutely amazing. Similarly to discovering two of the best guitarists in the world with Lovebites, you discovered one of the best, if not the best, metal vocalists in Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer.
