Absolutely wonderful. I'm sure that Yngwie would be proud
1st let me say I love this cover Jill does a great job like always. You commented that it sounds like it was written for violin, the reason for that is Yngwie's guitar playing was heavily influenced by classical violin players growing up he would arrange & play on electric guitar virtuoso violin pieces such as Paggnini's 24 caprices (he even wrote a concerto for electric guitar & orchestra that was basically a violin concerto but using a guitar) Yngwie's playing inspired many metal guitarists in the 80s (including myself) & helped to create the subgenre of Neoclassical metal 🤘
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Yngwie played classical violin on guitar? That had to have been quite the challenge, and yet he took on that challenge and developed an advanced technique because of it.
@@rantandchill9503 if interested here's a link to a short of me playing the beginning of a Sibelius violin concerto that i arranged for electric guitar (it starts off slow but I like the melody) 🤘ua-cam.com/users/shortsnyJ5vjcZYRQ
Anything with Jill is fire. This one goes up to 11.
Consider this. Yngwie saw this cover and he was inspired 🤘
Yes, they’re excellent musicians and Jill is an outstanding violinist.
Have you heard Unlucky Morpheus cover of "The Dance of Eternity" (Dream Theater)? There is also a live version of this.
完成度が高すぎる!最高🎉🎉
Their cover of Steve is incredible too. She can reproduce Vai’s ”strange” way of playing. In fact all their covers are great.
Yes I find this Malmsteen cover better than the original. And it’s the same with Paul Gilbert.
Yngwie Malmsteen was my favourite musician from 1988 until I discovered Lovebites in 2020 - a hell of a run. And while this and Miyako's piano interpretation are both absolutely fantastic, nothing will top the original for me. A few points of note: Yngwie recorded the original at the age of 20, although he'd been playing around with it for a few years before that. Also, next year the original is 40 years old, but when he recorded it, The Beatles' oldest record was only 22 years old. How crazy does that sound?
If you haven't seen it yet, the most impressive cover from the Quadratum project is the live combo eruption/dance of eternity. Excellent musicianship from them all and Ogawa gets to shine a little.

There is also an impressive rehearsal video by Jill alone playing it blindfolded (at the 23:30 mark)

I don't think so!! I grew up listening to the very same pieces of music and the Malmsteen cover for me vindicated my claim it would sound better with a violin!!
Lol, you've finally found this. Good for you. Absolutely yes. This piece is almost written as a violin piece. Yngwie has played this with an orchestra Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and it seems fit better for violin ua-cam.com/video/Yni9Qu76UyA/v-deo.html, and I agree with you that this cover is better than the original. Miyako of Lovebites also covers this piece as a piano etude and that is phenomenal work too ua-cam.com/video/3RzRNijnaKA/v-deo.html.
It's ING-VEY, as Yngwie is Swedish.
Brings me back to 1995 when dudes were calling him Yanewee. Lol

He almost lost me at “young we” lol
It's good but it's weak and a hollow body Is the best way to go if you want to electrify and have a true dark sound with clean notes..... Built electric violins for 37 years
