They have four songs with long ballad-y segments, and all of them are gorgeous. The three "E" Songs ("Edge", "Epilogue" and "Empty Daydream") and "Frozen Serenade". Interesting comparison to Geoff Tate. The metal singer people often go to is Bruce Dickinson, but in this song I think you're more on point. They're both well inside the top 10 metal vocalists anyway, and Asami absolutely deserves that kind of praise. I love the way this song builds. Hard to pinpoint the moment it stops being a ballad.
Having experienced the abrupt end you should check out the song that followed at the Five Of A Kind show - We The United. It was the the encore and show closer so please let it play right out to see Haruna change her shoes and take a bow. 😄
It ended abruptly because it was already the beginning of the next song. I'm totally alright with backing tracks as long as it doesn't take major part of the performance. It is just another extra layer, just like hiring an extra musician for the song. It is a kind of gimmick of effect.
