And then, of course, there's the joy of watching Tae in the background. The strange thing is , he was the one I always had the most trouble "getting" - I just couldn't connect with him. Until the BTS Room Live. And then it clicked. I completely got him... And wondered why I hadn't before. I suddenly saw the way his mind works, and it's a lot like mine. It's strange to say, but Yoongi and Tae are the two I am most like personality-wise. And I honestly think that it's because he is so like me, that I couldn't see it. They may seem so different, but they have more in common than people realize. Throw in a bit of Jimin and Namjoon, and you have me. Yeah, I'm a strange one. But I'm me... And I wouldn't want to be anyone else.😘

I love their tiny desk performance! It’s got so much personality and I feel like all of them really got the chance to shine and they picked three stellar songs to showcase (though honestly they have a lot of songs that would have worked). It’s great to see you talk about how you see Spring Day. It’s kind of a rough song to start with since it’s deeply connected to such heavy subjects and it’s very easy to tread wrong if you’re not well informed. I love that you chose to take it as a learning opportunity instead of putting up defences.
I just love V's voice..his Tone is sooooooo rich, warm, smokey....his voice is never mistaken for someone else.
Spring Day always gets me due to the reason behind it...but it's a beautiful song-but always bring a tear....
Save Me is really interesting artistically. It's a one-shot video. I really wanna see you do a set breakdown of it (when you watch it you'll get the irony 😂). I highly recommend watching the behind the scene video as well.
It really becomes a stroke of genius when you include the sister song I'm Fine. They're connected through the ambigram behind V in Fake Love and have corresponding lyrics, same notes in reverse, reversed order of singing and opposite choreography. If you watch a live performance choose one of the two songs back-to-back.

Spring Day is also pivotal in making me a fan becos of the back story.
Later I found out that the Sewol story was mainly the inspiration for the video only, but that "officially" RM had written the song thinking of his friends in the past who he lost contact with along the wayas life goes on. So it's very much a song with many more meanings than just that tragedy. 💜
Interesting how Spring is a season that represents growth and you found a path of personal growth due to your experience with exploring Spring Day (from blind reaction to researching more and learning). It's okay to fall short once you treat it as a way to grow and do better. It sounds like you've done well since to be open minded about new stuff. Good on you. 💜

There is another song called “I’m fine” that’s like a follow up to save me. My personal fav performance of that one is on jimmy Fallon but really it should be watched with save me, for the first watch. and they do have a comeback stage that showcases both together. (There is an MV for save me but not I’m fine sadly). The songs are fascinating to me because the did everything in Im fine in reverse of save me (instrumentals, answers to lines in the song, even the order the rappers sing in)
The I'm Fine performance on Jimmy Fallon was excellent but it will probably get blocked if he reacts to it on youtube.
He could do a Save Me and filming of Save Me MV combo, maybe.

I appreciate your honesty about your first reaction to BTS and I appreciate all of your reactions since that time. When I started my journey down the BTS rabbit hole I didn't know how much I would enjoy listening to music in another language. I do listen to Latin music sometimes, but I had no experience with music in other languages. I grew up listening to Blues, R & B, rap/hip hop, neo-soul, pop, jazz, and a little bit of rock. BTS has helped me expand my musical horizons in which I'm now listening to other genres. 💜💜😉😉
Its been awhile since I've seen someone react to Dynamite and it was so cool to see. Its really worth looking deeper into the lyrics and videos of BTS's early stuff. (before being "discovered" by America / The West) Save me, I Need U etc have deeper meanings much like Spring Day.
This is still one of my favorite live performances of BTS. It's one of my first ones of theirs that I watched, and it's an intimate performance that really showcases their vocals and live performance. Not to mention their chemistry as a group, which I have never seen a group this close, that really vibe with each other, like they are one person. 💜
Save Me and I’m Fine are mirror songs. RM’s verse is the best example it is flipped and that in so cool. 💜 in Fake Love in the fog on the glass you see Save Me written on it but when you flip it over it says I’m Fine. It’s one of the easter eggs in the Fake Love mv. So much fun stuff to find.

SAVE ME is definitely worth a listen - a very beautiful, meaningful song with amazing syncopation. It does have an MV, which was in fact filmed in one take and there's a fascinating behind the scenes video of how they shot it, which you'll probably find interesting. Their band is GHOST.
You would like the “making of” video for Save Me as a filmmaker. It was done as one shot ( but several takes as they are perfectionists)

Appreciated your personal attachment/experience w Spring Day. Music is rad like that. I consume music completely differently since I found these 7 artists- in that I recieve everything outside my immediate realm of influence w so much more consideration and respect. Our tastes are blips in the context of worldwide music, if you really think about it because millions of people have caged themselves when looking at music as "art".

Love your genuine take on overlooking Spring Day the first time around, and how ppl overlook things they don’t understand off the bat. It’s why I slept on BTS for so many years, and dismissed them as a run of the mill pop boy band. After finally taking the time to read their self written lyrics etc.. I realized how wrong I was! Hi, there is another song where the harmonies of their voices are beautiful. It's the cover they did of the song " I'll Be Missing You (Puff Daddy, Faith Evans and Sting Cover) in the Live Lounge. I recommend it 100%. Also one of the new song "For Youth" is so beautiful.
I concur. This song is indeed groovy. One simply can't help but groove along with BTS. And yes, their voices are awesome. What can I say except that BTS is the best. They truly light up our lives with their music.
Just want to make the distinction between the song and the video. The main lyrics were inspired by the sense of longing, loss, and acceptance that RM says he felt when no longer being able to meet up with his old schools mates after debut, describing it as an internal winter. 'Spring Day' having such themes of grief and loss made for the perfect video to visually reflect the heavy topics stemming from the Sewol Ferry tragedy, the novella "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas", as well as the movie Snowpiercer
Thank you for taking the time to express your reflection on your initial reaction to 'Spring Day'. We oftentimes take the easy way out, dismissing or making fun of things we don't understand. I wish we were more intentional about analyzing why we dislike or even like the things we do. It would not only give us better insight on becoming better humans, but could potentially change the world. I appreciate your being transparent & more importantly vocalizing it, because some of us needed to hear and others needed to be reminded. You could have easily never given these guys another look, but made the effort to give them a chance. As a result it opened your eyes to so much more: international tragedies, corruption, civil unrest, compassion, humanitarianism, unity, and an AWESOME BAND. While ignorance can be bliss, willful ignorance can be costly.

You've probably heard Dynamite, but didn't realize it. It was BTS' first all-English song and there's probably 10+ different videos of the song on YT! Also, have you hear of their song "Butter" and "Permission to Dance"? These were their other all-English songs. I don't recall you reacting to either of those, but maybe I just forgot or missed it.
I haven’t reacted to either, I have however heard Butter. It was technically my first BTS song and I didn’t know it lol
Since you were a drummer... you might be interested to know that there are some live performances where there is a drummer-cam for the entire song for some of BTS' concerts. :)
They always sound better live such great voices. Glad you now know their epic Dynamite. Must add watching the Save me MV then the live version with I’m Fine which flips the song notes and some of the lyrics/ideas and they perform back to back.

It's true what you said about dismissing people. I am a musician too and I never perform other songs or even listen to music without checking out the artist and looking for the meanings of songs. For me it's like reading a book. And those are the songs that I remember. Hey, listen to their cover of "Fix You" too by Coldplay and "I'll Be Missing You" by Puff Daddy! Watch the mv for Dynamite. In the Save Me song, did you hear RM say "Suga"? On quite a few of their recordings and on Suga's mv's you will hear his name said - Shhhuuuga just before he moves in. It is Suga' m.o.
Dynamite gave Bts there first nr 1 at Billboard 100 the got 5 moore nr 1 , the also have 6 nr 1 Albums at Billboard 200, the 3 all english songs Dynamite, Butter, permission to Dance was made during pandemic so the are uplifting songs to cheer us fans up and light dancing so we can follow

While you may have heard dynamite on TikTok it’s also been used for a Samsung commercial, the soundtrack for Clifford the big red dog movie, and Strictly come dancing performance to name just a few…it was literally all over the place lol! As others have mentioned, you will also enjoy the Proof live, Bangtan BTS room live, and also MTV unplugged. Of course MTV unplugged has copyright issues so you’ll either have to manipulate the screen to have it on UA-cam or offer it on your Patreon for a reaction video…either way it’s a must watch…there’s also some set dressing features in this one you may or may not be interested in lol! Btw, I’m adding in this 😉but I honestly don’t remember what it was for so…I’ve been subscribed since day 2 (hehe).

I think it'd be so fun if you watched the Dynamite music video but watch the b side! They released the bside video after the original and it's got some different scenes and bloopers and is a "b-side" but I love it a lot more, each member is featured more in the b-side as well. 💜

One of the only good things to come out of the pandemic - and it's bittersweet for sure - is the crisp, clear audio for many live performances from BTS. No crowd interference, and their set/stage designers were going bonkers thinking up new concepts. Dynamite was performed with something like 40 unique stages. We got "BTS Week" on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show which included fantastic, ancient historic landmarks (Idol in front of a palace, yo), an almost one shot with a rotating room, seasons passing as the camera pulled back through rooms in a cargo container/semi truck tunnel, a classical Black Swan performance intro danced on water, a hologram Yoongi because he was missing much of Fall while he recovered from shoulder surgery, drones, concerts with global attendees on screens in the audience..... So much it's impossible to continue my run-on sentence without further shaming my English Lit degree.

Though their English-language songs are poppy and playful, they aren't my favorites. They did put them on the map (and Dynamite was their 1st #1 on Billboard 100) with the western audiences because they are in English...which was a good thing. Even if you don't want to react to them, you might want to listen to Tiny Desk Concerts that other artists has put on. If you want to react to one of the mv of the songs they sing here, Save Me is a good one. Also look at the behind the scenes of that mv.

I love The Queen, Spring Day, but it is so sad to think that all those young people died so needlessly. It must be very gratifying to BTS that it has given solace to those left behind. Having said that, have you seen the lighthearted version? JK and J-Hope harmonising in Save Me is something very special.

BTW as far as their English skills go only RM is fluent but JK and Hobi have improved a lot and are confident enough to try to say what they can. The rest are learning but are not so confident. They practice what they’re going to say for interviews or gigs like this one and leave most of the talking to Namjoon. JK’s pronunciation has improved a lot.

The band is Ghost and they've toured with BTS. The drummer has his own YT page, KhaN drummer, with some "drum cams" from past BTS tours.
I think I commented this before but you need to react to the SAVE ME video and tag onto the end the behind the scenes shooting sketch. There isn't a 'set' for you to breakdown but the filming was so difficult, despite the m/v looking very simple. I will look forward to your reaction to these.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

In Minute 19 I’m so grateful that you mention the meaning again and I’m again grateful for you trying to get the full story and learn from your past mistakes.

If you're interested in the drummer's part in BTS' live music, you should check "KhaN drummer" yt channel: he and his "Ghost Band" work with BTS on a regular basis since 2015 (they're the ones playing in this Tiny Desk too) and on his channel, there are some very very interesting videos of him playing drums during the 2017 BTS' "wings tour live trilogy".

First of all, I don't want to come off as disrespectful, so understand that this is coming from a good place. But your title ("wow they can actually sing"), comes off as clickbaity and not in a good way. It also makes it look like you assumed they wouldn't be able to sing. Idk why that would be your first assumption of any artist let alone BTS if you haven't heard them perform any songs. Again, I don't want to come off as disrespectful, but titles like this put me off 🤷♀️
Hey! Sorry you felt that way. It definitely is a clickbait title. Unfortunately that’s the name of the game here on UA-cam. I will say however at that time in my BTS journey I hadn’t really heard them sing live much at all, let alone with this quality. Another unfortunate thing is that a lot of artists rely so heavily on editing that they don’t sound good live. So yea, it’s not coming from a place of disrespect but from a place of observation. If it’s not your thing that is ok, I am not going to hold it against you, but as much fun as it is making these videos it would be a lot more fun to be able to do this as my main job rather than as a hobby. So I am going work with the awful UA-cam clickbait strategy to get myself to a place where I no longer need to do it. Thank you for watching though!! I take no offense at all!
