Hey mate. Recently found your channel. Its excellent. I have same model same year same colour XE as you. I did not even know this upgrade existed till now. Have bought using your link and had them fitting in less than 10mins. Looks great.
I fitted my ones today, I struggled a bit tacking off cover on the driver side. Passenger side come off straight away. I didn't manage with plastic tool provided as cover refuse to come off. I took a big flat screwdriver, wraped in electric tape to protect paint, just left end uncovered, forced a little bit and popped out.
i bought a jaguar xf but all the parts same just interior design little different you are the one person who give nice advice and beautiful explanation Thank you i live in North cyprus its hard to get car parts in here i wanted to ask you where do you get your parts ..
Another good vid, did mine a couple of months ago but went in with the trim tool on the very outside edge of the mirror. Looked much easier from the position you used and it had me sweating as I'd seen a couple of stories of clips getting snapped. Nice looking mod for pennies.
Ahah yea it’s super nerve wracking pulling that cap off as like you say had heard stories of them snapping! 100% agree such a nice mod for a small price!
@@TrackAndBeyond I drove a brand new Landmark edition a few years ago which was amazing. Sadly at the time it was too expensive and didn't give me everything I wanted! £400 for a basic model and service plan so I went for something else but I keep seeing Jags and want one!
Yea don’t blame you I was extremely lucky I picked this up during peak lock down (first lock down) we buy any car right now will give me more than what I payed for it! Which I’m tempted to do and buy a newer model with car play 😅
@@TrackAndBeyond I have to admit I like the new style and the Windsor seats more. Jaguar can do a mod to older models so you can get carplay. It cost's about £200
Yea agreed! Iv looked in to the CarPlay mod won’t work on mine I’d have to spend £660 and get a retrofitted box added sadly. I love the car and love the drive Iv had it mapped too and it shifts best car Iv owned by far and turns heads 😁
Just got mine for a 2010 XF on Aliexpress for under £16! Mine came with identical kit but in a plain white box so I'm hoping they're OK and I don't get a canbus error or something. Will find out soon enough and once I know they work I'll post the link if anyone wants it.
@@TrackAndBeyond Just done them. I found the cover really hard to get off on the driver's side, found it easier to use the other method, unclipping from the outer edge of the cover first. Had to use a small knife in the end though, I broke both ends of the removal tool supplied before it would budge. Plain sailing from there, all done inside 5 minutes. Now to do the puddle lights under the mirror. I had hoped it would be possible to get at the lap holder from inside the mirror housing while the cover was off, but no such luck
@@TrackAndBeyond Yes, mine broke quite easily but a simple penknife did the job. You can work it in using the point without doing any damage, then twist and the cover just pops off.
@@TrackAndBeyond I wish I would have seen your video earlier 😅 but luckily it's a really small clip which isn't really essential to hold it in place. It just wiggles a bit. I actually got the Turnsignal from AliExpress for 16€ with shipping
Certainly entitled to your opinion however the quality of what arrived didn’t look any less than what I took off. Plus for a part such as an indicator it’s not a big deal in my opinion
@@TrackAndBeyond I'm torn between waiting potentially a month and saving myself £15 or so.. or just getting them delivered tomorrow 🤣😆 but there are a few other bits I need from aliexpress so I might have to suck it up and wait.
I think I'll be giving this ago once I get my exhaust damper sorted. Looks easy enough and I've always loved the sweeping indicators

@@severnsea seen a few people say theirs where tough times get off too and the tool they give you isn’t the strongest 🤣

All XE’s are the same so as long as you buy XE indicators they should be fine
