I would look under Bloodydecks.com and look at the rod building section. Tons of stuff on there and thats where I found how to do that. Sorry for the really late response

I used a gudebrod rod wrapping thread that had the silver intertwined with the black already. I haven't built any fishing rods in over 5 years so I don't know if it is still available.
This is not a fishing rod, this is a masterpiece to keep as an example of how a rod have to looks like. Congratulations.

That's some of the best custom rod whipping I have seen. If that was on my rod I would be afraid of damaging the whipping.

Awesome wrap....the Dragon Scales as an underwrap is very cool and that is probably the best Diamond wrap I ever saw.

How does wrapping the whole rod affect the action? Does it wear out from constant bending?
Wrapping the whole rod would definitely affect the characteristics of the rod. I wouldn't recommend it.
