Get ready for THAT red hot mess, the shocking scarlet disaster with all it's bulging and billowing! This dress is so bad, it gave me a headache revisiting it but I did find a way to fix it. Plus, the Lion King Premiere dress; with it's mesh-y messy shameless self promoting vibe, The Meg's terrible tie waist shirt dresses and more. This week's Friday Fashion Edition is also tackling the question: Did Meghan Markle EVER dress well? You'll be SHOCKED at what I found with my friend Google.

I think MM is also copying another annoying narcissist: jada pinkett smith. Meg's cover on the Cut eerily resembles a shot of Jada with husband on one side and son on the other. Search of 'jada pinkett healing' should find it. And Jada red dress should find the other. Strapless numbers, bigger skirt, same color.
Why not wear a tank or camisole under your sweater? The open vee neckline just looks off with your brown winter sweater. Not a polished look for a fashion critic.
You forgot to mention the back fat. The Duchess of Duplicity has back fat and she shows it off frequently. It's gross.

I have been saying for a long time that 90% of Meghan's clothing problems stem from her *refusal* to accept that she is box-shaped - not an hourglass or willowy - and dress according to her body type. There's just no reason for someone with her resources to look as bad as she consistently does.
She also seems to have a hard time dressing/tailoring to her post baby body.
She's post - menopausal.
And she never bore those 'children'

But considering that she's no longer a part of the RF, and with her connections, she probably has her own stylist who has nothing to do with the royals, or she could hire one if she thinks she doesn't like how she's dressed.

Thank you for saying that!! A couple of months ago I made a comment regarding her red "Brothel Madam's"" dress and her wearing something like that to a very somber occasion. She wanted to give a speech and pushed ahead of harry so she could be the first one on stage.

According to the New York Post that year, the event, called "The Salute to Freedom Gala" "recognizes extraordinary leadership and honors the brave men and women who serve in defense of our nation." Weirdly vague.
I don't know why Harry and Meghan attended, or why Jon Bon Jovi attended, every article seemed to only care about the dress, which is unfortunate. Our veterans deserve so much better than they get. Having lost family members and beloved friends while they were in the VA hospital (my Great Uncle had a kidney infection that needed a simple course of antibiotics. Instead, he waited while - sorry this is still hard. His kidneys shut down, other organs. Eventually it was too much and he had a heart attack, which took his life. A kidney infection. So if anyone here really cares about American Veterans and/or active service members? Help them. I've also
watched my peers become addicted to pain meds, hoping to unsee some of the terrible things they saw in war and even "peace time". I'm not sure about this group, it's certainly not one I have ever supported, they seem to invite people not connected in any way to the US military. Obviously.

Yep, I used to despair that a belt couldn't make me an hourglass, lol. Then I found sheath and wrap dresses. Everything has to fit exactly, too.

Ironically in the red cape dress she was told not to wear red You're not supposed to wear red because the men are in red uniforms and she purposely wore red.
Reportedly, it is also when she decided to go for broke and wear color since they announced they were leaving royal duties. She stated she didn’t want to upset the other Royals by wearing color, so she wore “beige”.🤣 Even if Harry knew the protocol, he himself was negligent in explaining ANY protocols to his wife. I feel sorry for the designers who had to endure the embarrassment of their designs on Meghan.
She also knew that for the Commonwealth celebrations the dress code for women was either red, white (cream) or blue.
She wore the hideous green goblin outfit.
It was so inappropriate for the event. She doesn’t care because, as we now know, her whole purpose is to rock the boat.

I’m a big boobed girl, and always was jealous of girls who are smaller like Meghan - but even with huge boobs I can look more pulled together than Meghan usually does. Those strapless bras under dresses where she doesn’t need to be strapless drive me the most crazy! You’ve got big divots in your chest from a tight strapless bra Meghan! How can’t you see this? Same here. I was a bridesmaid for my friends wedding and we went to the tailor TWICE. Us bridesmaids were all different sizes, one very busy and a bigger lady, the other very short and petite and me athletic and muscular. We all looked perfect because of the tailoring!
My mom, who sewed almost all of my dresses growing up (including prom and homecoming gowns), saw that wedding dress and said, "Who fitted that thing? Did she even HAVE a fitting??"

I'm a seamstress. Bust darts that pucker weirdly are improperly sewn. The dart needs to finish approximately 1" before the bust apex (fullest part of the nipple.) It needs to taper to nothing, to avoid a weird pucker, and it needs to be in the correct place for the breast in question.
The dress looked fantastic on a 5'11'' long waisted model. Meghan did not have the body type to wear it, six inch stiletto heels didn't fix that. It was ridiculous for her to wear it, no amount of tailoring would of made it fit her body type properly. It was also an inappropriate and tasteless choice for a veterans venue. No respect

Carolina Herrera was the designer..... the dress was poorly altered to fit Meghan. Perhaps not enough time or patience was allotted to alter it properly. It looks to be done in a haphazard way.

I worked in retail yrs ago and it was so hard to get women to wear a size that actually fit, instead of what they thought was their size. I always told my customers the truth about fit and style.

Carolina Herrera must be fuming, seeing her design name being drag to the mud like this. MM also wears other designer,like Oscar de la Renta etc… but she doesn’t tailor them to her body. It would make a big difference if she does. I even Taylor my cheap dresses, because when you do, it personalize them to your body.

In the Netflix documentary, Meghan is seen trying on the dress and 3-4 people try to adapt the dress to her. I wonder what happened after they filmed because they obviously didn't do a good job or Meghan was so arrogant and kicked them out before they finished.

The sad thing about the second red dress, the dress she actually got right, is that she still messed up as this was Harry's last night as a working royal member and Captain General of the Royal Marines of the Mountbatten Festivals and only the men in service were to wear red! It was an event that was supposed to focus on those who served, but Markle wore red to steal the attention, in an outfit that for once actually looked good as if it was a big F you to the British! So that disaster she wore for the US veterans awards isn't the only time she wore that color to detract the attention from those who served.

She always looked good on Suits which, one assumes, was down to the clothing choices made by the wardrobe department. They picked some lovely clothes for her. If she would go back and ask those wardrobe staff for their advice, then she could look so much better.
@11:10. That red evening gown received a LOT of criticism in the UK because it is not acceptable for wives of service personnel to wear the same colour as their husband's mess dress uniforms. It is just not done. You can see inside the venue, photos of both officers and their wives giving Markle the side-eye on her rude choice of colour. I actually blame Harry for that. He had been in the Army a long time and would have known that wives don't wear the same colour as their husband's mess dress.

Harry may not of noticed that wives do not wear matching colour to uniform. He doesn't necessarily pay attention to everything going on around him. That takes concentration which his mind does not operate that way.
Harry was in the Army many years and also knew you aren't permitted to have a beard when in uniform (like he did at his wedding) and that no-one has the right to wear a uniform after you leave the Service (like he did as part of The Queen's catafalque party before her funeral... plus he also KNEW The Queen would have found that disrespectful).
Harry knows the rules, but he doesn't care.
I really never saw her look better than when she was wearing pencil skirts and blouses with her hair slightly below shoulder length and parted on the side. I think this is when Jessica was styling her, the best she ever looked.
This is what I thought too. Jessica styled her at the time then she becase MMs PA/adviser/lady-in-waiting but I guess the "job" and "friendship" became too much for both of them.

While I absolutely DETEST Meghan Markle, it amazes me how she went from being named one of the best dressed women in the world (while still a working royal) to the fashion pariah today.
This to me just shows the fickeness of people, and absurdity of many comments.
Yes, Meghan is quite horrid as a human being, but to make it seem like she has never gotten it right fashion wise is simply untrue.
She is beautiful, even if with some surgical help (lol). She also had some great fashion moments while working as a D rate actress; and while still in the Royal family.
I personally loved the Red dress, but felt it was very inappropriate for the event. If it had been a proper gala dinner event, it would have been perfect, as it balanced her out and created a a nipped in waist effect.
Catherine on the other hand has been a great person and perfect for her role; but please, let's be sincerely honest here.... she has had many fashion faux pax in the past.
Firstly, that see through dress she modelled at a fashion show was atrocious and looked like the work of a grade school designer. Had it been any one else that wore that, everyone would have been horrified.
Catherine is not a perfect human being, nor has she made perfect fashion choices in the past.
I remember distinctly how angry the pictures of her skirts blowing up in the wind to reveal her bum used to make me. It happened too often for it to have been a fashion fluke. I mean it's to be expected and factored into the equation that when you're wearing a knee length or above the knee dress with a full skirt out on a windy day, such things would definitely happen !!!
The least one could so in such a position would be to wear appropriate slips, or better still to have the hemlines weighted down.
Thank God she's stopped flashing us.
I also feel Catherine's dressing was often borderline dowdy UNTIL Meghan came on the scene and all the tabloids were about her and her great fashion sense (those were the early days in the Royal family before she showed us her true narcissistic self )
And to be frank, Catherine, though much taller and svelte than Meghan, is also a bit similar in figure ( ie. a boyish frame with very little curves.)

The point really is that there isn't a contest between the two women, as both (as we all) have had their fashion faux pa moments in the past. The real issue is that NOW that Meghan has shown her ugly character, NO MATTER how good she looks on the outside, people would deem her clothes ugly.

The fact that you have to be 6" tall and 110 pounds to wear it decently just shows that it's a bad design, not intended for normal-sized women. And let's face it, models don't eat like normal women; insiders say that the fitting models often don't eat at all; they're hooked up to IVs for nourishment.

The RED Dress. As usual the tailoring is horrible, but one of the many “oh no” moments is the back fat hanging over the top of the dress. The dress is too tight around the middle. No matter the angle this dress is hideous.
I have paused the video to say..thank you sooo much for addressing the horrible darting that caused it to appear as an inverted nipple. This is the most horrifying aspect of this gown, in my opinion.
I think the darting was inverted because Meeeghan didn't have enough boob to fill out the cups. The dress wasn't fitted right to her actual bustline.
Harry pushing Meg’s versatile acting skills, to the Disney exec, had me cringing & laughing for months.

My mum made a lot of her own dresses for things and said shiny fabrics accentuate all you flaws and show all lumps and bumps. My nana and grandma were both seamstresses who tailored clothing for people
It's true! Unless you have a ton of gathering and draping done impeccably well, but they're still not great with the camera no matter what.
@@BeebsKelley I know my mum would have nit picked that horrible wedding dress she wore to pieces. Mum one made a period dress for me to wear when I was 7 in a weekend, she checked herself out of the hospital to make a bridesmaid dress for a friend of mine too once. Between mum, me, my friend and another friend the dress got done in 24 hours with my mum and I taking turns at the machine and my friends doing whatever my mum asked of them from pulling pins to ironing, to picking out a botched seam. The dress got done and my mum tossed the pattern into the trash because she never wanted to see it again. So those bridesmaids dresses that were horribly wrong should have been an easy fix for those 4 seamstresses that were supposed to fix them in 4 days. I could have done one my self in a day easily.

It is important to remember that Markle grew up without a mother or someone in a guiding role regarding fashion. As a result, she believes “expensive” is the first consideration. She is clueless regarding fit, undergarments, fabric, tailoring, style, color, and appropriateness. To top it all off, she has no taste or style.

I know!! I saw a still shot from their Netflix series of her being fitted in that dress, with like 4 people there, 3 of them under her & my jaw hit the floor. I was willing to wager that she got that dress as a freebie & it was sample size & that explained the poor fit. When I realized she actually paid for that dress & was professionally fitted, I was shocked!! I think she sent them her measurements a month or so in advance, assuming she would be back down to her pre-Lili weight. Every time she wears Carolina Herrerra, she does them no favors!!!

Yes, her legs are long but they are so skinny and shapeless, they look like an ostrich or emu's legs, but - of course - she can';t see that.

Carolina Herrera concluded her career designing clothes in 2018. She placed Wes Gordon as creative director and he designed that red, "split tomato" dress. I recall seeing a snippet from the Netflix reality series of MM getting ready for that event and I believe Gordon HIMSELF flew to MM to deliver it and he and one or two assistants were UNDER THE SKIRT to poof and pull all into place.
