Spent the day applying this to a 50 track mix. The "focus" it brought to each track made the mix sound "bigger" with more space for each individual instrument. Simply amazing. It solves the "tightness" mystery of professional recordings, (like Dave Matthews that I just put on a week ago) where I wondered, as I referenced them, how they did it. I will now have to revisit many prior mixes and am grateful to have reached this plateau in my mixing. Thank you Brainworx. It's no small thing.
I don't know about you but I would LOVE to see Brainworx release a free plugin that is just a single knob of THD models from all their console plugins.
This is a really great demonstration of the plugin!!! Especially that moment where you've made a processed signal even quieter than the original and it still sounded superb and much more clear. Thank you for not making use of the loudness perception like other plugin developers do in their commercials. Sold ; )
I think emulating existing, quality gear is an excellent idea. It allows one to audition different pieces so that when the time comes to decide on a large investment of actual equipment no time or money is wasted on learning on unsuitable hardware. I just picked up the 9000J with a voucher, which PA dishes out pretty regularly.
I was a skeptic when I heard that another SSL channel plugin had arrived but after using this now for two mixes, its my go to for kick, snare, bass, and vocals. I prefer this over the UAD version because its so musical, rounder, and for lack of a better word, “velvety”. Great demo as well… short but very informative.
I have completely fallen in love with this plugin. Don’t know how it does it but some of my mixes that sounded flat and slightly harsh now sound really warm and punchy. Love it!!!

Is Tolerance Modeling Technology (TMT) supposed to add white noise sounds? Because whenever I used it, unwanted white noise was added. Could this be a bug?

@@fjn667 yeah before that they use 4000 40 channel at least on Ride the lightning and Puppets I think. Only matters is Mixing mastering engineer. 9000 is better anyways.
As someone looking for instruction, the video leaves a lot to be desired. First, no mention of feature set including compressor and filters. Secondly, routing options. Post/Pre eq compressor? Are the filters in use when the plugin is selected. I could go on but whats the point. You're just mixing in the video. Not a great video. No instructional value...CYA
I love the plugin alliance software but I hate analogue gui's. Using pan pots on plugins is annoying. I also wish companies stopped trying to cash in on old equipment and just made some new stuff. I would rather have some new plugin with super advance algorithms to smash analogue instead of copying analogue. It's getting really stale both in look and functionality. An SSL desk functions well in a studio but is totally unnecessary in the box to replicate in this way.

Why do your plugin headers look different than mine? I don't have the upper menu part showing, is that added by your DAW?

I have full version, not demo. Using Focusrite Sound Interface.
The V Gain knob models in noise. If you turn it down it removes it.
