This vacant mansion sits on a 141.26 acre site on a secluded and very quiet lakefront property.
The home comprises more than 20,000 sq. ft. of living space and includes an indoor pool.
At one time this vacant mansion was part of a premier golf club proposal which did not get approval to proceed.
Inside you will find 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and one of the most amazing kitchens anywhere!!

It's been said that when people win the Lottery, The money is gone within 5 Years, They right away buy a 4 million dollar home, A yacht and expensive cars, by the time the first payment comes around They're packing up and moving, They blew all of that money, They don't know how to handle money.

When I was young I would have been beside myself if I owned this house in pristine condition. But now that I'm older I just look at it and think, wow that would be a lot of dusting, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, running the vacuum, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the pool and the lawn OMG! You couldn't run fast enough to give me this house. But it would have been spectacular in its prime.
A person that can afford this, can afford a cleaning staff. I feel you though, I've looked at buying a bigger house than mine in lower priced areas near me but would not want to maintain them.
I agree but if one has millions to buy the house then they have to have a crew to help maintain the house and property--maids, ground keepers, etc.
Same. I'm leaving my dude since I'm expected to cook, clean, launder, shop, and serve in his house. Maintenance easier in an apartment.
I don't know that I could wait for a cleaning person. They'd have to come everyday for the kitchen and bathrooms alone.

I love it to, if I could afford it definitely would hire a cleaning crew twice a week, I’d have to use an electric scooter one for each floor lol and what fun that would be. It’s the prettiest home I’ve seen yet.
I agree with you! It’s perfect. It’s the best one I’ve seen yet of all the explorer’s. I would love to buy this with a group of people. It’s big enough for several couples to live there. What a dream! I’d love to know if it’s for sale. That is one thing I wish they would let us know.

When you go bankrupt, the bank shows you the way out. You don't have much choice. Some states protect your house/homestead 100%, but others have dollar limits on how much of the value you can protect. If it was a second house, then you pretty much lose it to the bankruptcy court or creditor.

First off, I think you do a fine job of filming. But you need to drop all the "guys"! And the "What's up guys", every time you pass a mirror. Both of these are positively cringe-worthy!. Listen, Dave, I know you think it is part of your image but it's just plain annoying. Remember less is more when you are doing a video. If what you have to say does not contribute to the topic at hand then don't say it. I bet there is a large group of viewers who you drive away with these annoying habits. I just won't subscribe because of this, and I am sure I am not alone.

Having worked in the construction business I can tell you this house has never been lived in with all the wiring hanging out no railing on the balconies and the drywall not installed. It looks like the builder quit or ran out of money to complete the job. When that happens the only way to buy it is with cash. No bank will loan money on a incomplete house. A drone shot would have completed the video.

Cook books in book shelves above desk would be pretty. I collect them, have so many they would fit with plenty left over within reach!
The cabinet on top is for cookbooks hence why it's in the kitchen and not the den/office space. It's there for convenience.
It looks like it was never quite finished by looking at the basement. Beautiful place. Shame it's gone to waste. The real oak paneling, the stone work.....just incredible workmanship just rotting away. 😔

An abandoned home can be sold!! Wow BM! Someone owns it ! Probably a bank, the county, the state. Someone is covering the property taxes and can certainly put it up for sale or auction!!

When it comes to this house, the Heat and Power are still on, maybe a caretaker??
Since there's maintenance equipment in the garage.
The mold in the basement isn't from water it's from lack of air flow, I noticed hot water baseboard or electric baseboard heating, but there was air vents most likely for the AC, but since the AC and or fans are not on there's no air flow.
It's crazy to think what could be the fate of this house...

I highly doubt its in foreclosure, show me some proof. I am aware of what the boards are and what is on the them, it shows the subdividing that has occurred and what sections are included for what price and a drawing of the proposed golf course that will never happen. Its a land bank.
I'm a "guy", I know. Anyway, nice vid. However, that rider mower in the garage and the laid down signs on the kitchen counter indicate that the home is likely for sale and that the lawn is being mowed.
I would say it's a bank repo with a lot of contractors owed money on it so buyer be aware

Absolutely awesome place. Rich folks sure know how to live, eh? I am so surprised no one has snapped this place up. 4 mil for a house and grounds as gorgeous as this I find rather inexpensive when looking at the big picture. Is this location fairly isolated? Really love the rooms, light, woodwork, everything. Shows a lot of superior craftsmanship and attention to detail. A work of art. Hate to see this lovely home empty, having seen senseless destruction of other homes when they remain empty for a period of time. Hopefully someone will purchase in the near future. When you are very wealthy you really don't worry about trivial things like heat or cooling, you just leave for the season hop aboard your yacht and go to a better climate, winter home in the islands

This place was never suppose to be a home, it was an attempt to establish a golf course there, it sits on over 200 acres of property, They were going to call at Augusta North

WOW, empty for 10 years! It does look like it might be a bank repo. Imo, there are too many simple fixes that banks don't bother with when trying to resell such as painting and removing outdated wallpaper. The house is beautiful 😍... Thanks for the video!

Doesn't look abandoned, looks on the market being fixed up. Why didn't you show us the photos/posters face down on the counter in the kitchen? And what about the power, you said no water or power. As we saw later in the video there IS POWER and probably the fixing up is due to the obvious water damage from frozen pipes the reason there is no water.

I watched this vid twice. The kitchen appealed to me more the second time as it is quite unique, as far as a single family home goes. Put all your personal kitchen type do dads in there and it could be very homey. Very beautiful home!

I like the property a lot! Also, in a way, I do appreciate the fact that this house isn't just like all the others. Like, the staircase, for one thing. Also the floor plan isn't too bad, and the woodwork is very good. And the fact that it does have a library. Not bad, really! I love the windows, that let in the sunlight, the french doors. Its actually kind of a cool place.

The alarm sound was a give away it still had power. The back up batteries only last so long and the lights in the basement were on. The lawn wasn’t as high as the rest of the property either.

Would be nice to have some back ground info on this place and you mentioned at one point about possible plan for use of this place being made, would have liked to have known what that was about. Seeing how this is something I will never be able to afford, I enjoyed being able to take a journey through this home and see what was inside the walls. Thank you for the time and effort you put in to bring this to us. It is appreciated.
if i give out too much information it puts the location in jeapardy, also there isn't always a history to tell
I want to say "interesting house", but not really. The basement is the most interesting part. The house lacks certain details that would make it upscale to me. The wood paneling is nice but doesn't seem to match the exposed beam work on the cathedral ceilings. It could use a lot more design to it.
The mancave could have had a lot more to it, but it was laminate countertops and cheap cabinets. The man cave would serve better as a greenhouse. For such an expensive house, it just looks as though they ran out of money. The closets are basic, the kitchen has really basic sinks.
I DO like the design decision to keep the living areas all on one side of the house, Which can make heating and cooling the house much cheaper.

Greed causes the loss of many of the expensive mansions. They just buy, buy because of the money they have and spending too much causes the downfall of their fate. When all the money is gone everything is repossessed and bankruptcy comes into the picture. Beautiful place and but sadness has set in. Just to much greed causes for all the empty mansions

sweetscatlady Wrong lady. You’re obviously suffering from wealth envy. There are other things that cause people to lose their homes such as a death in the family, catastrophic illness, divorce, loss of employment, The need to relocate and lack of buyers for the house.
And thats why you don't own this house you have no clue.

This place isnt abandoned ,look on the counter & you will see the sign in sheet for the company hired by a real estate agent to mow the lawns and make a visual inspection for damage or vandalism ,i hate it when people declare houses are abandoned when the sign in sheet shows they have keys to the property .

Makes you wonder...why do people who build big homes like this, abandon it all of the sudden? Surely it's possible to buy these abandon homes to bring it back to life?
I would say they moved because of a mold problem. The basement looked like it had a lot of water damage in areas. The room that had the electrical in it had rust on pipes etc. You can't get that black mold out....so you have to move out.
Takes a lot of money and some just can't figure out for a place like that it's going to take a bunch and keep wanting more money to stay in

I don’t think this property is really abandoned the electricity still on, the outside grounds are being maintained, maybe there’s a dispute between the family. This mansion is definitely not abandoned.
