Thank you so much for not having repetitive intro AND slowly panning around so we can actually focus on what you're showing us! VERY moldy though! New sub!
The unopened readers digest got me in the feels. After my grandmother passed and we emptied her place we found dozens and dozens of unopened readers boxes hidden all around her place. I hate to think how much money she spent on them.
You really needed your respirator for that one! Hope you are fine after that. There definitely was a lot of stuff left in there. I can’t get over how someone just leaves everything like that. As always, thanks for sharing!!
Oh my goodness....I love everything about this house!!!Being the collection that iam of tabloids and magazines and memorabilia from the 70-90s , seeing the magazines made me smile ❤
It would be interesting to know when the last person(s) lived there and how decayed it was when they were still there. Sure a moldy mess. Makes me sad because I have so many similar things and alto I hope I won't die or be carted off from here I wonder what will happen to all my 'treasures'. The bookstores around my town are closing and I think it's sad that folks don't take time to read books anymore.
The good afternoon from Cape Cod ⚓ Wow! That place certainly is a pigsty but it was an interesting exploration. That really was a moldy living room, what could have caused that 🤔 anyway thanks for bringing us along and be safe out there Dave 👍✌️🇺🇲
I don't care what anyone says. I was born in the 70's and its a GHETTO BLASTER. Always has been and always will be called that in my books.😁 I had a pretty sweet one in the 80's!!
Even if it was lived in in 2017 or later that mold probably wasn't there when the last owner actually lived there. honestly to me it looks like the house had a heating issue due to all the space heaters I've seen around and most likely during the winter the pipes had burst which would have soaked literally the whole house starting the mold issue and causing the house to be condemned explaining why everything was left behind.
Ghetto blaster is an 80’s term. It’s not racist. 🤦🏻♀️. You were boss if you had one of those things! What a mess-that house has serious issues. I hope the people didn’t live there in that for long. How sad. The cookbooks say grandma liked to cook. I hope they had g grandchildren who have lots of memories of her in the kitchen. And you need a mask for that place! And I had those dr Seuss books! Probably still do. I need to look around!
Looks like a generational house belonging to an older couple; maybe a researcher/scientist. Most definitely a home with some kids and grandkids that may have moved back there for some time. The mold on the first floor looks like a bunch of squatters (possibly drug addicted) who didn’t care to stay too long and were reckless; somehow created all the moisture to breed that mould. Definitely looks super ransacked, and it doesn’t look like there was much interest in the educational items and old mementos. The 2017 water heater is an odd one to speculate on - someone else in the comments suggested the squatters brought in a water heater, but I’m not sure that tracks since they are quite expensive. Any other guesses? lol your guess is as good as mine
I don't think people actually lived there in 2017. I have a theory. Perhaps squatters were able to use this house 7 years ago. I can see how a house can get to this current state if it's already falling apart and nobody takes care of it. My theory is that squatters found enough stuff laying around that they were able to sell and get a water heater going so that they could at least take a shower. Makes sense if the house already has power, and obviously it did back then.

BTW: "Ghetto blaster" is NOT racist - the "woke" person who said that needs to take their meds (or drugs) and go back to bed!
Man after breathing that I would get a check up. Please start carrying a respirator and gloves!
I was just thinking the same thing

I totally agree!
Wow that mould is both amazing & scary 😷😱
We used to call radios with a speaker at both ends a boom box.
Stinkytown house here Dave. Bad mold problem. Sad for whoever lived there. Dr Seuss is neat, those books should be saved. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'm sure with a lot of deep cleaning and restoration, this old house will be as good as new.
I hope so!
I hope you got a medical evaluation after this place😂. You're a brave man.
Lungs of steel over here
Really cool stuff.
Man is that vermiculite insulation in the attic blowing all around? Hope the former occupants are ok if its the bad kind.
