I didn’t know to not drink a toast that is directed to you. But, when is it proper to take a drink. When everyone finishes the toast and puts their glass down?
Drinking a toast that is proposed to you is considered arrogant because it’s like your just congratulating yourself over the toast that you just received. It’s better to just put it down and then wait till the toast is finished and then you can drink.
Will Hanson is an etiquette coach and her mannerisms were making him uncomfortable so he pointed them out, in a pretty polite way 😅 also I’ve met the guy when he came down to host a tea drinking workshop when I worked at Royal Crown Derby and he’s honestly a proper sound, wholesome guy :) beyond how pretentious he appears in this vid lol

Those are white wine glasses they are meant to be held there red wine glasses are meant to be held higher up
