Is it just me or are Emma Thompson and Leslie Jones a hilarious duo? What's funny is that I can actually picture a British etiquette coach doing this. Love how much fun Leslie is having singing the song, the sweet music, happily stirring the tea... and then...!
@@CreativeSoul27 you're getting racist vibes because leslie jones, a black woman is in the sketch and she's acting really stereotypical? you do know that she might just talk like that? stereotypes don't mean all people but they still apply to some
@@jiminycrickets990 It's really more the violence directed towards her by Emma Thompson's character. That, and the implication that Leslie's character's way of acting needs to be "fixed" in some way, as if she's incapable of having "proper" manners and needs to be literally beaten in order to learn. People often forget that Emma Thompson started out in comedy. She was a member of the Footlights Troupe and was in the UK sketch show Alfresco. She was also in some episodes of A Bit of Fry and Laurie and acted in a lot of comedy at the start of her career.
She doesn't have Cecily or Kate's range in playing different kinds of characters, but she's got a feel for the physical comedy. Also, I think she has a problem reading the cue cards. Perhaps she's myopic? Or dyslexic?
