Went to this concert. Insane food fight between the seats and floor people. Good times.
I was there too. It was after the rain came through and people were throwing soaked towels, shoes, t-shirts, you name. Everything was flying and it was hysterical. Until I took a dirty shoe to the mouth, that is.
Same thing happened in Houston
Another random memory. There were two girls in stands that were flashing their breasts to the crowd before the concert (or maybe between bands). I just remember enjoying immensely as a teenager and the crowd cheering on. So 1980's.

I was at this show.... I remember it was raining hard as hell right before Metallica went on and then it just got brutally hot out.... Really great show.... It's weird to think that Metallica was the second band on the bill after Kingdome come and before Dokken.... By '91 Metallica was the biggest band on the planet and never looked back.... Glad I got to see them before major success hit...
What a day that was at the Orange bowl... Long hot and rainy day.... Only bad part was I was so out of it by the time Van Halen came on we left halfway through their set but I still had fun anyway...
Left early too...too exhausted by then from the heat and moshing.

I was at this show, right about where the camera is here, it was my first of 6 times seeing Metallica live. Never seen em like this, fuckin, incomparable.
"HAMMETT: We were drinking at the Carlson house one night, and Lars turned on the tape deck: "Listen to this, man. Forstex Multitrack Mesa/Boogies with James playing the heaviest riff ever!" It was the main riff to "Master of Puppets", which had been quadrupled on all four tracks and sounded super heavy. And I knew it immediately as this joke riff that James would always play on the D string. He just dropped it down to the low E string and it was suddenly this whole other thing."

Well, he is just over 6ft. The others don't reach 6ft. - Lars is a tiny European and Kirk was really skinny, doesn't help. :P

I remember this concert! Monster of Rock at the Orange Toilet Bowl. Fucking security shooting water into the crowd. Mud was thrown back at them! I think there was a tropical storm that had come through a few days before. been a long time....

"HAMMETT: I’ll tell you how the main [descending] riff to “Master of Puppets” came about. On the Ride the Lightning tour, James would always play the riff in the dressing room, but on the D string, and I’d play it simultaneously on the G string as a parallel-fourths harmony line. It sounded really dorky and funny. Then one day at rehearsal, James said, “Let me show you this really heavy song intro,” and proceeded to play that exact riff on the low E string. I said, “Ah, so you finally found a use for that dorky little thing!” It’s anything but dorky now."

I'd met EVH's guitar tech the nite before and after he learned my 'Van Halen Car' was the one in the hotel parkade that VH had gone down to check out and take pix with, me and my mate had all area passes and were up front for the whole show....minus Kingdom Dumb of course.....lmao.....

was at the Foxboro show and was awesome. some guy on the field had his lighter jacked up past the max and his long hair went up like gas was on it. people tackled him to the ground to stop the flames. Scorpions, Metallica, van Hagar/Halen,Dokken kingdom come didn't play I think because they sounded too much like led zep, . I still have the shirt. The music was so loud that the speakers broke the staging and it was vibrating making a bad noise. I think Metallica played some of the new and justice for all but can't remember.

How you people can say which concert is THE BEST? You've seen theses only in youtube. Many say that seattle, san diego and moscow are best ever, because they have good quality in youtube. I think East Rufford 1988 or Quebeq 1986 are the best ones.
There's some footage of the band with Cliff playing Disposable Heroes in a small club somewhere in Germany I think. That would have been the best live show in my opinion. Small intimate venue, in their prime, with Cliff.

If you're talking how the audience was treated, the army WERE fekking bastards at the Toshino airfield show in Russia. I actually have the official VHS release of that show and recently put it on dvd. The Russian band is SUCH a bad AC/DC clone....lmao
